Heat Resistant Pal Metal Armor Schematic Location and Stats — Palworld Database

Heat Resistant Pal Metal Armor unlocks at Technology Lv 48 and it's the suit that finally makes Mount Obsidian and the volcanic half of Sakurajima feel routine — 250 defence, 750 HP and 10,000 durability, more than triple what the Refined Metal tier survives. The catch is where the schematic lives: not in a single hot region. This guide covers the full stat card, the 0.08% Legendary rate and the two regions that roll it, the six background loot pools that also stock it, why no Pal drops it, and what 30 Pal Metal Ingot and 16 Flame Organ actually cost you in raw materials.

Heat Resistant Pal Metal Armor Stats

The number that matters is 250 defence — 30 more than the plain Pal Metal Armor it sits above, on the same 750 HP, with double the durability. That durability step from 5,000 to 10,000 is the biggest single jump anywhere on the heat ladder, and in practice it means you stop packing repair kits for volcano runs. The resistance package is Heat 2, Cold 1 and a Fire damage reduction on top, so it's not purely a weather suit — it actually cuts the damage the things living out there deal to you. The one real cost is weight: at 40 it is the heaviest heat armor in the game, five more than every tier above it.

Armor defence only means something measured against other armor, so read 250 against the rest of the body slot rather than against any weapon's attack figure. In its own class it sits exactly where the tree puts it: comfortably above Heat Resistant Refined Metal Armor at 180, well under Heat Resistant Plasteel Armor at 400. Its mirror is Cold Resistant Pal Metal Armor — the same 250/750/10,000 line with Cold 2 swapped in — and the heat version is the easier of the two to reach, arriving two Technology levels earlier at 48 instead of 50 and asking for a raw Pal drop instead of a crafted coolant.

Where the Legendary Schematic Drops

Start with the thing that trips everyone up: the heat schematic does not drop anywhere hot. Its two supply-drop regions are the Snowfields and Sakurajima, and every chest, camp and fishing pool that stocks it sits in those same two places. Farming Mount Obsidian for heat gear gets you the Refined Metal line and nothing else. The second thing to know is that no Pal drops this schematic — not an Alpha, not a tower boss, not a raid — so there is no repeatable kill to grind. What you get instead is the widest world-loot spread of any heat armor line.

Schematic 2Rare2.0%2.0%None
Schematic 3Epic0.4%0.4%None
Schematic 4Legendary0.08%0.08%None

Each tier is worth about a fifth of the one below it, which is the standard schematic ladder, but the raw numbers here are unusually generous — more on that in a second. Chase the top row rather than the bottom one: 10.02% lands a Schematic 1 roughly once every ten drops, while the Legendary is one in 1,250. Every schematic in the game shows the same rolled-scroll model in your bag and the four tiers differ only by rarity border, which is why the pictures on this page are of the armor itself wherever we can manage it.

Snowfields and Sakurajima Supply Drops

This line shows up in exactly two of the eight regional supply pools and both run identical odds, so the choice is purely about where you'd rather be — take whichever region you're already levelling in. What makes it worth camping is that these are the best odds any heat armor schematic gets anywhere in the game, at both ends of the ladder. Nothing else in the heat family touches 10.02% on the Uncommon, and nothing else beats 0.08% on the Legendary.

Heat Resistant Pelt Armor165.72%0.05%Grasslands
Heat Resistant Metal Armor255.23%0.04%Forest

Two things fall out of that table. First, the region logic is inverted across the whole family — the Refined Metal heat line is the one that drops in the Desert and on Mount Obsidian, so if you're standing in lava hoping for better heat gear, that's the tier you're actually farming, capped at 180 defence. Second, Heat Resistant Plasteel Armor and the Ancient tier appear in no supply pool at all, which makes this the highest heat armor a supply drop will ever hand you. Full loot tables for all eight regions are on the Palworld supply drops page.

Every Chest, Camp and Dig That Stocks It

Supply drops are the source with published odds, but they're not the only source, and when the headline number is 0.08% the background loot pools quietly matter more than they look. Six of them carry the Legendary and five are places you walk through anyway while levelling in the snow. Pocketpair has never published rates for chests and camp stashes the way it has for supply drops, so treat these as the volume game — you open a lot of them without thinking about it, and eventually one pays.

FishingSnowfields367 fishing spots

The fishing row is the one nobody guesses and the one worth acting on — a Legendary armor schematic sitting in a fishing pool is not something the icon prepares you for, and snow fishing spots are quiet, safe and repeatable in a way that clearing camps never is. Camps are the opposite trade: far riskier, but the only source that pays twice, because the general camp loot and the boss stash are separate rolls on the same trip. The tier 3 treasure map dig is the odd one out in a genuinely useful way — it's the only source here that isn't locked to a region, and it's also the only one the Uncommon schematic can't come from, so a dig that hits this line hits it at Epic or Legendary. Everything pinned above lives on the Palworld interactive map.

Why No Boss Drops It

Exactly five armor schematics in the whole game sit on a Pal's loot table. All five are the Legendary tier, all five drop at a flat 3%, and only one of them is heat-resistant — Astegon at Alpha level 55, dropping the tier *below* this one. If you were hoping for a repeatable kill, that's the honest answer: the closest thing you'll get to a farm for heat gear tops out at 180 defence.

There's a consolation buried in the level column. Every one of those bosses is beatable around or before the point you unlock this armor, and killing them is how most players end up holding a stack of Ancient Civilization Parts — the material every Legendary body armor recipe eats. So the bosses still fund the craft even though none of them drops the paper for it. Astegon is the one worth putting on your route regardless, since Astegon's location and drops also covers the Refined Metal heat schematic you'll want on the way up; every Alpha Pal and its multipliers is on the Alpha database.

Build It Instead: The Drafting Table Route

With no boss to farm, the Drafting Table stops being a fallback and becomes the actual plan. It unlocks at Technology Lv 45 for 4 Technology Points and merges five identical schematics into one of the next rarity up, and this line supports the whole ladder with no missing rungs. The timing is friendlier here than for most armor: the table lands at Lv 45 and the armor at Lv 48, so you get three levels of hoarding before the recipe even matters.

TargetCombine costEquivalent in Schematic 1sSupply drops needed
Schematic 2Schematic 15~50
Schematic 3Schematic 225~250
Schematic 4 - LegendarySchematic 3125~1,250

That bottom row looks punishing and it is, but put it next to the alternative: a straight 0.08% roll also averages one Legendary per 1,250 drops, so combining costs nothing extra and pays out on a schedule instead of a coin flip. That's the specific argument for this line — with no 3% boss shortcut anywhere in sight, deterministic is the efficient route. Combine only at the top of the ladder, bank Schematic 3s until you're holding five, and resist spending Uncommons early, because those are exactly the rolls you'll want back when a lucky Epic lands and leaves you one short. The table costs 20 Refined Ingot, 10 High Quality Wooden Board and 30 Charcoal; the schematic upgrade guide has the full combine rules.

TipCraft the Common version the day you hit Tech 48 rather than waiting on a rarity roll. Every tier of this armor grants the identical Heat 2 protection — rarity moves defence and HP, never the temperature resistance — so a Common suit you're wearing in the volcano tonight beats a Legendary schematic you haven't rolled. And because there's no boss shortcut here, the schematics worth chasing are the cheap ones: bank Schematic 1 at 10.02% every time a Snowfields or Sakurajima drop lands and let the Drafting Table do the arithmetic.

How to Craft Heat Resistant Pal Metal Armor

Whatever schematic tier you're holding, the base recipe is four materials on the Production Assembly Line II for 200,000 work — note the II, because the plain Assembly Line won't accept this one. Nothing on the list is endgame: no ancient parts, no Paloxite, no Soralite. The one line worth planning around is the ingots, which need a furnace of their own; the Flame Organs are a hunting trip, not a project.

MaterialQtyMade at / from
Pal Metal Ingot30Electric Furnace (Tech Lv 44) — 4 Ore + 1 Pure Quartz + 2 Paldium Fragment each
Leather30Pal drops — Mammorest pays 5-10 at 100%
High Quality Cloth3Tech Lv 36 — 10 Wool + 1 Leather each
Flame Organ16Fire Pal drops, no crafting step at all

Trace all four lines down to things you mine, shear or pull off a corpse and one suit works out to 289 raw units. The Cold Resistant Pal Metal Armor costs 283 for an identical stat line, so on paper the cold version is marginally cheaper — but this one is faster to assemble in practice, because 16 Flame Organs is one hunting trip while the coolant needs a Tech 31 unlock plus a crafting step of its own. The plain Pal Metal Armor two tech nodes below runs 20 ingots, 20 leather and 2 cloth for 150,000 work, so the heat version is roughly half again as expensive and buys +30 defence, double the durability and the weather protection.

Raw materialTotal for one suitWhere to get it

Pure Quartz30607 nodes
Wool30Sweepa 3-5 · Melpaca 2-5, both 100%
Flame Organ1637 different Fire Pals — see below

There's an awkward geography problem in that list worth planning around. Pure Quartz is a snowfield and cave resource, so the two rarest lines in the recipe sit in the same cold region that stocks the schematic — while the Flame Organs obviously don't. That's the one genuine argument for a Snowfields base over a volcano base for this build: 30 Pure Quartz and the schematic hunt share a trip, and the Flame Organs are portable. Ore at 120 is the biggest single number but also the most common node type in the game at 1,632 pins, so it costs time rather than luck.

Pal Metal Ingot: the Real Bottleneck

Thirty ingots at 50,000 work each is 1.5 million work before the armor's own 200,000, which puts the smelting stage at roughly eighty-eight percent of the entire build. That's the figure to plan around, not the material count. It also can't begin until Tech Lv 44, because Pal Metal Ingot is the one ingot the earlier furnaces refuse to make — the Electric Furnace is a hard gate, and it wants electricity to run.

Per ingotQtyNote
Ore4The bulk of it — 120 for a full suit
Pure Quartz1Snowfield and cave resource, 607 nodes
Paldium Fragment2711 Paldium Ore nodes, or recycled out of spheres in bulk
Work50,000×30 ingots = 1,500,000 total

Two things make that survivable. Paldium Fragments come out of recycling as well as out of nodes, so if you've been hoarding old spheres you may already be sitting on the 60. And the furnace pays for itself — build it once and the same ingot feeds Pal Metal weapons, the cold version of this armor and the helm line. Stack Kindling Pals on it and batch all thirty overnight instead of trickling them out five at a time; the Palworld structures list has every build cost and worker requirement.

Fastest Flame Organ Farm

Sixteen Flame Organs sounds like a chore and isn't — 37 different Fire Pals drop it, almost all at 100%, so this comes down entirely to how many per kill and how easy the Pal is to find. The pick that wins on both counts is Bushi Noct: 4-8 per kill at 100% and 1,990 spawn points, far and away the most common Flame Organ source in the game. Three kills covers the suit.

Reptyro5-7100%22
Suzaku5-10100%13
Arsox2-3100%108
Foxparks1-2100%94

Read the last column against the second. Blazamut is the only guaranteed 10-per-kill in the game and Suzaku can roll as high as 10, but at 16 and 13 spawn points respectively you'll spend longer finding them than farming them — those are catch targets, not farm routes. Ragnahawk at 150 spots is the sensible volcano-side pick if you're already up there. Everything else is a rounding error next to Bushi Noct, which you can pin directly with Bushi Noct's spawn map. If you keep a Fire Pal in your party for the element advantage anyway, this material will pile up faster than you spend it — the full drop table for every material is on the Palworld items database.

Can You Even Build It Yet?

Technology Lv 48 is the headline gate, but six supporting nodes sit underneath it, each with its own level and its own station. Work down this checklist before you go schematic hunting, because a Legendary schematic in your bag does absolutely nothing until the bench, the furnace and the ingots exist to use it. The total is 27 Technology Points, all of them the ordinary kind rather than the Ancient ones you pry out of tower bosses.

The first row is the trap. The heat recipe never touches Cryogenic Coolant, so it's easy to skip that node and then discover the Electric Furnace needs 10 of it just to exist — no coolant means no furnace means no Pal Metal at all, heat or otherwise. Take the Tech 31 unlock even though the armor list doesn't mention it. The rest sequences kindly: the Drafting Table arrives at Lv 45, three levels ahead of the armor, so you can be combining schematics while you're still climbing. The full tree is on the Palworld technology page.

How It Compares to Every Other Heat Armor

Eight body armors carry heat resistance and they form a clean ladder from Tech Lv 9 to Tech Lv 75. Heat Resistant Pal Metal Armor sits fourth from the top, and its actual selling point is durability rather than defence — 10,000 is more than triple the tier below it and only 8,000 short of both Plasteel and Hexolite, which arrive five and fifteen tech levels later.

Read the last column before the first one. Everything from the Tropical Outfit at Tech 9 to Plasteel at Tech 53 gives identical Heat 2 protection — only Hexolite and Ancient Armor reach Heat 3. Climbing this ladder never makes you cooler, it only makes you harder to kill while you're hot. If the weather is genuinely your only problem, the Tropical Outfit solves it at Tech 9 for 4 weight and always will. What you're actually here for at Tech 48 is the things living in the volcano, and 40 weight is the bill — swap down to the Tropical Outfit for pure hauling runs. Worth knowing too: the Tropical Outfit is the only heat body armor without the Fire damage reduction, so it keeps you comfortable and does nothing about being set on fire. Every armor piece in the game is compared on the armor database.

What a Legendary Version Actually Gains

Rarity raises the crafted armor's numbers, and the plain Pal Metal Armor is the one Pal Metal suit whose five rarity steps are all laid out in the game. It climbs 220 → 286 → 308 → 330 → 352 defence, exactly ×1.3, ×1.4, ×1.5 and ×1.6 of base — the same four multipliers every armor family uses, from Cloth to Hexolite. HP rises on the identical curve, durability climbs from 5,000 to 26,000, each step stacks an accuracy bonus the Common version doesn't have, and each adds another Ancient Civilization Parts to the recipe.

RarityPlain Pal Metal ArmorHPDurabilityExtra recipe costHeat version - estimated

Epic3301,12522,0004 Ancient Civilization Parts~375
Legendary3521,20026,0005 Ancient Civilization Parts~400

Pocketpair has never published the per-rarity multipliers, so treat that right-hand column as the plain line's own curve applied to 250 — a close estimate rather than a measured number. 250 is the only figure in that column that's certain. What isn't in doubt is the shape of it: a Legendary lands roughly 60% above the Common, the HP bonus climbs toward 1,200, and the ingot and leather bill roughly doubles on top of the Ancient Civilization Parts. The Legendary plain version alone asks for 40 ingots, 40 leather, 5 cloth and 5 parts at 4,800,000 work — twenty-four times the Common's crafting time.

That estimate is the entire case for chasing this schematic. At an estimated ~400 defence, a Legendary Heat Resistant Pal Metal Armor at Tech Lv 48 would match a Common Heat Resistant Plasteel Armor at Tech Lv 53 — five tech levels of progression skipped, on a much cheaper material bill. It would also beat the Legendary plain Pal Metal Armor at 352 while keeping the heat resistance and the Fire damage cut. That's a real tier-skip, which is why the 125-schematic grind is worth starting early rather than shrugging at.

Heat or Cold: Which Pal Metal Suit First?

The two suits are statistically identical — same 250 defence, same 750 HP, same 10,000 durability, same 40 weight — so the decision is purely about cost and timing, and the heat one wins on both. It unlocks two levels earlier, and its extra material is a raw Pal drop instead of something you unlock, craft and batch. You only need both if you're bouncing between the volcano and the snow in the same session, and even then, build this one first.

The row that actually decides it is the fourth material. Flame Organ needs no tech node, no bench and no batching — you kill three Bushi Noct and you're done. Cryogenic Coolant needs a Tech 31 unlock, an Aquatic Pal Fluid, an Ice Organ and a crafting step each. And notice the schematic rows: both suits roll out of the same two supply pools at the same rates, which means a single Snowfields farming session is building progress toward both. Bank whichever schematics land, then decide which suit to craft when you get there. Details on the twin are in the Cold Resistant Pal Metal Armor schematic guide.

The Short Answer

There is no boss farm for this one — no Pal in the game drops the Legendary Heat Resistant Pal Metal Armor schematic, and the closest thing, Astegon at level 55, drops the tier below it. Farm Snowfields and Sakurajima supply drops instead, and ignore the volcano entirely: the odds there are the best any heat armor line gets, at 10.02% for Schematic 1 and 0.08% for the Legendary. Back that up with Snowfields field chests, enemy camp loot and boss stashes, snow fishing spots and tier 3 treasure map digs, all of which stock the same schematic. With no 3% shortcut available, the Drafting Table at Tech Lv 45 is the real plan — five Schematic 1s make a 2, and 125 make a Legendary on a schedule instead of a coin flip. Build the Common version the moment you hit Tech Lv 48 — 120 Ore, 60 Paldium Fragment, 33 Leather, 30 Pure Quartz, 30 Wool and 16 Flame Organ — and remember the Electric Furnace at Lv 44 is the gate that actually holds most players up.
