Egg Hatch List: All Egg Types and What Hatches — Palworld Database

Every Pal egg in Palworld is colour-coded, and the colour tells you exactly what is sleeping inside it — a Scorching Egg will never hand you a Water Pal. This is the full egg hatch list: all 11 egg types, what each one produces, and the exact odds for every wild nest pool on the map, region by region.

All Pal Egg Types

There are 11 egg types in the game and they split cleanly into three groups. Nine of them are element eggs — the element of the Pal inside decides which one you get, so a Scorching Egg is always a Fire Pal and a Frozen Egg is always an Ice Pal. The Ominous Egg is its own thing, tied to the World Tree, and the Mutated Egg never appears in the wild at all. The last column counts how many different Pals of that element actually show up in wild nest pools, which is the number that matters when you are farming for one specific Pal.

Dark is the widest pool by a distance at 43 Pals, mostly because Feybreak's nests are stuffed with Noct variants, and Dragon is the thinnest at 13. That gap is worth remembering before you commit an afternoon to nest running: a Dragon Pal from an egg is a genuinely rare roll, while Dark hatches are close to guaranteed if you loot the right island.

Egg Sizes and What They Mean

Every type comes in three displayed sizes, and the size is a rarity signal — the bigger the shell, the rarer the Pal curled up inside it. Size also costs you: eggs do not stack, so each one takes a full inventory slot, and a Huge egg is five times the weight of a standard one. If you are clearing a long nest route, that weight is the thing that ends the run, not your inventory slots.

SizeWeight EachStack SizeWhat It Signals
Standard Egg101Common Pals — the bulk of every nest pool
Large Egg251Mid-rarity Pals, including most element variants
Huge Egg501The rarest Pals a pool can produce

Ten Huge eggs weigh 500 on their own, which is most of an unbuffed carry limit before you have picked up a single ore. Bring a carry-weight partner or plan on two trips — the Paldex flags which Pals give the biggest hauling bonus.

Where Wild Eggs Come From: All 1,816 Nests

Wild eggs sit in nests scattered across the world, and there are 1,816 of them in total. Each nest belongs to one of 14 pools, and the pool decides the Pal list — a Mount Obsidian nest and a Snowfields nest never share the same roll. Every nest in the game respawns on the same timer: 180 minutes, or three hours after you pick it clean.

Feybreak alone holds 567 nests, more than the Grasslands, Desert and Snowfields combined, which is why late-game players end up farming eggs there whether they meant to or not. The map splits nests by grade rather than by region, so each layer below shows every region's nests of that grade at once:

Egg Hatch List by Region

Here is what each pool actually rolls. Chances are per egg, and the alpha column is the separate chance that the same Pal hatches as its boss-sized alpha version instead. Pools are listed with their most likely hatches first — where a pool has more Pals than fit in the table, the leftovers are all long-shot rolls below the last row shown.

Grasslands Nests

The starting region carries four separate pools and the widest spread of Pals anywhere — 45 in the grade 1 pool alone, which is why no single hatch there is better than a 4.28% roll. Grade 3 is the one to farm on purpose: it trims the list to 29 Pals and pushes eight of them to 6.86% each, the best odds you will find outside the tiny late-game pools. Grade 4 is rarer still with only 26 nests on the whole map, and it is the fastest route to Foxcicle and Reindrix at 13.25% apiece.

Snowfields Nests

Both Snowfields pools are Ice-heavy, so this is where Frozen Eggs come from in bulk. Grade 1 is the smaller list at 21 Pals and spreads 6.11% across most of them; grade 2 has 161 nests — more than any other Snowfields layer — and swaps in Reindrix and Foxcicle at the top. If you want Cryolinx or Frostplume, grade 2 is the only pool that offers them.

Desert Nests

One pool, 122 nests, 33 Pals, and a flat top tier — nine different Pals all sit at 5.82%. It is the most predictable region to farm because there is no grade split to worry about, and it doubles as the best source of Rocky Eggs thanks to Surfent Terra and Digtoise sharing that top band.

Mount Obsidian Nests

The volcano is the Scorching Egg region. Grade 1 has 240 nests, the second-largest count in the game, and leads with Leezpunk Ignis at 12.55% because it occupies two slots in the pool. Grade 2 is the tightest list anywhere at just 10 Pals, which makes it the cleanest farm in the game if you want Moldron or Ragnahawk — every single roll is at least 7.25%.

Feybreak Nests

Feybreak is the endgame egg region and it behaves differently from everywhere else. Grade 1 is enormous — 496 nests, a third of every nest in the game — with 37 Pals sharing 3.44% at the top and, unusually, no alpha rolls at all. Grade 2 flips that completely: only four ordinary Pals can hatch, and just over half of every egg comes out as an alpha. That single pool is covered in its own section below.

Sakurajima Nests

Sakurajima has only 36 nests but a 34-Pal pool, so the odds are thin and spread wide — eleven Pals tie at 4.42% and the tail runs down to 0.44%. It is the only nest pool that offers Menasting Terra, at 0.44% normal and 0.13% as an alpha, which makes it a lottery ticket rather than a farm.

Sunreach Isle Nests

The flattest pool in the game: 16 Pals, every one of them at exactly 6.07%, across 39 nests. Nothing is rare here and nothing is common — if a Pal is on the list you will see it quickly, and if it is not, no amount of farming will produce it. Setting aside Feybreak's alpha-free grade 1 nests, it ties the World Tree for the lowest alpha rate at 2.91%.

World Tree Nests

Only 30 nests exist in the World Tree, and they are the only ones that produce Ominous Eggs — roughly one nest in ten yields that variant instead of a normal element egg. The pool is 42 Pals deep and every one of them sits at 2.31%, including Lyleen Noct and Knocklem Ignis, which is the only place either shows up in an egg.

Alpha Pals From Eggs

Wild eggs can hatch alphas — the same oversized boss version you would otherwise have to hunt down in the field. In most pools the chance is a rounding error, sitting between 2.91% and 5.97% spread across dozens of Pals, so any one specific alpha is a fraction of a percent. Feybreak's grade 2 nests are the enormous exception at 50.62%, because 36 of the 40 entries in that pool are alpha rolls.

Those 71 Feybreak grade 2 nests are the single best alpha source in the game and it is not close — roughly every second egg is one, pulling from a 36-strong alpha list that includes Jormuntide Ignis, Helzephyr and Ragnahawk. If you would rather fight for yours, the alpha Pal hunting route lists every field boss in level order.

Mutated Eggs

The Mutated Egg is the one type that never spawns in a nest. It only comes out of a Breeding Farm, it overrides the child your parents were supposed to produce, and it carries a passive skill no wild Pal is born with. The full method, the cake that improves your odds and all five mutation-exclusive passives are in the mutated eggs guide.

How to Hatch Eggs: All Incubators

Every egg hatches the same way — drop it in an incubator and wait. The first one unlocks early at Technology level 10 and costs almost nothing; the upgrades buy you temperature control and multiple slots, which is what turns a nest route into an actual production line. Nothing above the basic incubator changes what hatches, only how fast and how many at once.

Ancient Hatchery761200Paloxite Ingot ×100, AI Core ×50, Ancient Civilization Parts ×30, Ancient Civilization Core ×20

The Large Incubator at level 48 is the real breakpoint — it holds several eggs at once without needing a generator, which matters when you come back from Feybreak with twenty. The Ancient Hatchery at level 76 folds breeding and hatching into one machine and raises the rate at which rare skills carry over, but at 1,200 power it is a base-defining build rather than a casual upgrade.

TipNest eggs and breeding eggs are not the same product. Nests roll a random Pal from a fixed regional pool, so they are how you find species you have not met yet. Breeding is deterministic — you pick the parents, you know the child before the egg drops. Use the Palworld breeding calculator when you want a specific Pal and the nest routes when you want variety or alphas.

Summary

Short version: the egg's colour tells you the element, its size tells you how rare the Pal inside is, and the region you looted it from tells you the exact list it rolled on. 237 of the game's 288 Pals can hatch from a wild nest. Farm Grasslands grade 3 or Mount Obsidian grade 2 for the best per-egg odds, Feybreak grade 1 for raw volume, and Feybreak grade 2 if what you actually want is alphas.
