List of All 38 Ice Type Pals and Where to Find Them — Palworld Database

Ice is the element that owns a job nothing else can touch: 38 Pals carry the Ice type, and those same 38 are the only Pals in the game with the Cooling work suitability. This guide lists every one of them with its Cooling rank, attack and spawn count, then covers what Ice beats, the best coolers and fighters, all 19 Ice mounts, the 12 Ice alphas, the breeding table for every Cryst variant, and how to farm Ice Organ.

All 38 Ice Type Pals

Thirty-eight of the game's 288 Pals wear the Ice element, which puts it sixth by roster size — ahead of Neutral, Electric and Dragon, and a long way behind Dark's 70. What makes the list read oddly is that 19 of the 38 are variants: frozen re-skins of Pals that started out as Fire, Grass, Electric or Dark, most of them only reachable through a specific breeding pair. Twenty-four are pure Ice and 14 carry a second element, with Ground the most common partner. The table is in Paldeck order and the letter after the number marks a variant.

Attack there is the higher of each Pal's melee and ranged base value, so those numbers compare cleanly against each other but not against a weapon's damage. Cryolinx and Frostallion tie at the ceiling with 140 — Cryolinx from melee, Frostallion from range — and only seven Ice Pals clear 115 at all. Three of the 38 never appear as a wild spawn: Kingpaca Cryst, Moldron Cryst and Frostallion exist on the map purely as fixed alphas, so the only ways to own them are to beat that alpha or to breed them.

Ice Type Strengths and Weaknesses

Ice makes a lopsided trade on the Palworld type chart: it beats Dragon, and Fire beats it. That looks bad on the numbers, because Dragon is the smallest element in the game at 25 Pals while Fire is one of the largest at 43 — Ice has fewer good targets than it has bad matchups. The reason it is still worth building is what sits inside that Dragon roster. A super-effective hit is worth roughly one and a half times normal damage in either direction, and the late-game Dragon fights are exactly the ones where a 50% damage swing decides whether the fight is possible.

SituationDamageWhat it means for you
Your Ice move hits a Dragon Pal~1.5×The payoff matchup — 25 Dragon Pals, and the element the hardest mounts and bosses sit in
A Fire move hits your Ice Pal~1.5× taken43 Fire Pals in the game, so this is the matchup you meet most often on the wrong end
Your Ice move hits an Ice PalReducedGreyed-out numbers — the mistake players make farming the snowfields with Frostallion
Ice move, any other elementNo bonus either way; the chart only gives Ice the one pairing
Ice move on an Ice / Dragon Pal~1× (cancels)Chillet and Azurobe Cryst — the Dragon half's weakness and the Ice half's resistance trade off
A Fire move on Whalaska Ignis~1× (cancels)Its Fire half resists exactly what its Ice half is weak to, which makes it the tankiest Ice Pal against Fire

Ice also owns Freeze, and no other element inflicts it. That is worth more than the raw damage column suggests, because Freeze is the setup half of the best capture trick in the game — freeze a target first and your sphere lands with a large bonus to catch rate. The full ailment list is in the guide to all status effects, and the throw itself is covered in how to catch Pals.

Best Ice Pals for Cooling

This is the real reason to keep Ice Pals. Cooling is one of only two work suitabilities in the game locked to a single element — the Cooling roster and the Ice roster are the same 38 Pals, so no amount of Handiwork or Transporting depth elsewhere in your box substitutes for one. The rank ceiling is Lv. 8, and exactly one Pal reaches it. Thirteen Ice Pals sit at Lv. 5 or better, which is the band worth actually assigning.

PalCoolingOther JobsWhy It Works
BastigorLv. 8Lumbering 6, Mining 5The only Lv. 8 cooler in the game and the highest rank any Ice Pal reaches. Lumbering 6 and Mining 5 on top means it is never idle between food-box shifts.
FrostallionLv. 7Lv. 7 with nothing else on its card, so it does one job and does it better than everything but Bastigor. It is also the element's best fighter, which makes it awkward to leave chained to a Refrigerator.
Pierdon CrystLv. 6Mining 5Lv. 6 cooling plus Mining 5 — the cheapest way to run a cold storage plot and an ore plot off the same Pal. Only 50 pins, all around the Azure Covenant tower.
Univolt CrystLv. 6Lumbering 3Lv. 6 cooling with Lumbering 3. Learns Absolute Frost at level 50, which is the earliest 700-power Ice move on anything that is not Frostallion.
WhalaskaLv. 6Watering 5Lv. 6 cooling and Watering 5, which is the best cooling-plus-watering pair in the game and covers a farm plot and a fridge with one slot.
Whalaska IgnisLv. 6Kindling 5Same Lv. 6 cooling, but Kindling 5 instead of Watering — the one Pal that can light a furnace and chill a food box, which no other Pal in the game can do.
IcelynLv. 5Handiwork 5, Medicine Production 4, Transporting 2Lv. 5 cooling with Handiwork 5 and Medicine Production 4. The most versatile Ice worker if you only have one base and one slot to spare.
WumpoLv. 5Handiwork 3, Lumbering 5, Transporting 6Lv. 5 cooling and Transporting 6, and its partner skill adds a Transporting rank to every other Pal on the base while it works there.
Mammorest CrystLv. 5Lumbering 5, Mining 4Lv. 5 cooling with Lumbering 5 and Mining 4 — the heaviest all-round gatherer in the element and a mount besides.
Moldron CrystLv. 5Mining 5Lv. 5 cooling and Mining 5, and it is the only Pal whose partner skill raises Ice damage against weak points, at 25% climbing to 40%.
Reptyro CrystLv. 5Mining 5Lv. 5 cooling and Mining 5 with 133 pins in the wild, which makes it the realistic version of Moldron Cryst for anyone who has not beaten the level 78 alpha.
Elgrove CrystLv. 5Lumbering 3, Mining 3, Transporting 3Lv. 5 cooling with Lumbering, Mining and Transporting 3 apiece — four jobs on one Pal, and the widest job spread of any Lv. 5 cooler.
Beakon CrystLv. 5Gathering 2, Transporting 5Lv. 5 cooling and Transporting 5, plus it flies. The pick when your cold storage and your delivery chain are on the same plot.

Bastigor at Lv. 8 is a full rank clear of everything else and the one to chase, but it cannot be bred from any pair other than two Bastigors, so a wild capture is the only realistic entry. If you are not there yet, Whalaska at Lv. 6 is the best value on the list — 187 wild pins, Watering 5 alongside the cooling, and it is a mount. The pick most people miss is Whalaska Ignis: Kindling 5 and Cooling 6 on one card is a combination no other Pal in the game has, and the Ancient Furnace wants both at once. Every Ice Pal ranked by cooling rank sits on the best Cooling Pals list.

Every Structure That Needs a Cooling Pal

Eight buildings will not run without an Ice Pal assigned, and they arrive across the whole tech tree rather than in one clump. The first two are cheap enough to build the day you unlock them, and both are made from Ice Organ directly. Everything from tech level 38 up switches to Cryogenic Coolant instead, which is still an Ice Organ underneath — the recipe is one organ plus one Aquatic Pal Fluids.

StructureTech Lv.MaterialsWhat It Does
Cooler Box1310 Ingot, 10 Stone, 2 Ice OrganSmall food vault — an assigned Ice Pal slows spoiling
Cooler1820 Ingot, 20 Stone, 5 Ice OrganDrops base temperature a little; needs an Ice Pal to run
Snowman335 Ice Organ, 10 Wood, 5 ClothSpeeds up cooling work. A second one does nothing
Refrigerator3850 Refined Ingot, 20 Polymer, 10 Cryogenic Coolant, 5 Circuit BoardLarge food vault — the storage upgrade you actually keep
Electric Cooler4230 Refined Ingot, 10 Circuit Board, 10 Cryogenic CoolantPowered cooler — much colder than the basic one, still needs an Ice Pal
Cold Food Box5120 Pal Metal Ingot, 20 Plasteel, 15 Cryogenic CoolantFeed box that keeps Pal food fresh instead of rotting
Cryogenic Crusher5450 Pal Metal Ingot, 30 Plasteel, 25 Cryogenic Coolant, 20 Corrosive SolventConverts Copper Ore into other materials — needs power and a Cooling Pal
Ancient Furnace66100 Coralum Ingot, 20 Thermal Core, 30 Computer, 10 Ancient Civilization CoreSmelts every ingot type — wants high Kindling and high Cooling together

The Cooler Box at tech 13 is the one to build first and the one people skip; food rotting in a wooden chest is the single most common early-game waste, and two Ice Organs fixes it permanently. The Cold Food Box at 51 is the version that matters long-term, since it keeps the food your Pals actually eat from spoiling rather than just your own supplies. Note that the Snowman is not a workstation — it speeds up cooling work across the base, and a second one adds nothing.

Best Ice Pals for Combat

Ice is stronger in a fight than its type matchups suggest, largely because two of its members land in S tier on our Palworld tier list — more than most elements manage. The gap between those two and the rest is wide, though: outside the top handful, Ice attack values sit in the low hundreds and the element leans on its partner skills rather than raw stats.

PalAttackHPDefenceBest Ice SkillWhy Bring It
Frostallion140140120Crystal Wing (700)140 ranged attack ties the element's ceiling, and it gets there absurdly early — Crystal Wing is 700 power at level 30. Riding it converts your own gun and bow damage to Ice and layers freeze onto your shots.
Bastigor130140120Double Blizzard Spike (700)140 HP and 120 defence make it the toughest thing in the element, and Glacial Impact at level 55 arrives long before the level-70 nukes. Lv. 8 cooling means it is also the best base worker here.
Cryolinx140100110Diamond Rain (600)140 melee is the highest melee value any Ice Pal has, and its partner skill raises drops from Ice Pals by 40% up to 80% — the Pal you keep in a slot while farming the rest of this list.
Moldron Cryst125110120Ice Laser (700)125 ranged with 120 defence, and Ice Laser at level 70. Its partner skill adds 25–40% Ice damage to weak-point hits, which is the largest damage multiplier the element offers.
Loupmoon Cryst1308080Diamond Rain (600)130 melee is second only to Cryolinx, and its partner skill is a flat 15–30% attack speed boost. 80 defence means it is a glass cannon — do not tank with it.
Icelyn11595105Absolute Frost (700)115 ranged is mid-table, but its partner skill is +30% ranged attack climbing to +50%, the biggest flat ranged bonus in the element by a wide margin.
Pierdon Cryst110100120Absolute Frost (700)110 ranged, 120 defence, Absolute Frost at 70, and a partner skill that cuts incoming Dragon damage by 15–30% — the anti-Dragon package on one Pal.

Frostallion is the answer if you are only taking one. It is the fastest flying mount in the element, it carries 700-power Ice damage from level 30, and its partner skill converts your own weapon damage to Ice while adding freeze — so your rifle counts as an Ice attacker against Dragon targets, not just your Pal. Bastigor is the pick when the fight lasts a while, because 140 HP behind 120 defence outlasts everything else here. And keep Cryolinx in a party slot regardless of who you are fighting: an 80% boost to drops from Ice Pals pays for itself the moment you start farming organs. The full list of element-converting mounts is in the guide to Pals that change your attack element.

The Strongest Ice Attack Skills

Thirty-four attack skills carry the Ice element, and four of them tie at the 700-power ceiling on a 30-second cooldown. Since the cooldowns match, damage per second is identical across those four and the pick comes down to who can actually learn it — three of the four are locked to a single Pal each.

Blizzard Spike45020sShot22.539 Pals learn it around level 40–50 — or teach it with Ice Skill Fruit: Blizzard Spike

The number that should change your loadout is Blizzard Spike: 450 power on a 20-second cooldown works out to 22.5 damage per second, which beats every 600-power Ice move on this list and sits within a rounding error of the 700-power tier. It is also a skill fruit, so any Ice Pal can carry it, and it comes online around level 40 rather than 70. Full fruit prices and drop spots are in the list of Ice skill fruits.

Best Ice Mounts

Nineteen of the 38 take a saddle, which is half the element and much better representation than Ice's roster size suggests. Three of them fly. The spread underneath the top pick is unusually flat — twelve Ice mounts sit between 1,000 and 1,200 sprint speed, so once you are past Frostallion the choice is decided by what else the Pal does at base, not by travel time.

Ranks are out of all 115 rideable Pals. Frostallion at #9 is the only Ice Pal in the top thirty and the only one worth a dedicated saddle grind — 1,800 sprint with 300 stamina means it crosses the map without landing. The two at the bottom of the table are not mistakes: Polapup and Polapup Terra are the slowest rideable Pals in the game on flat ground, but both arm a slide dash and both get a large movement bonus on snow specifically, which flips the ranking entirely inside the snowfields. Compare the whole field on the Palworld mount speeds page.

Where to Find Ice Pals

Ice Pals cluster hard. Unthawable Lake, Icy Weasel Hill and No Man's Trail form the early snow belt and hold most of the low-level roster between them, while Land of Absolute Zero is the late-game pocket — three of the element's best Pals draw over 80% of their spawns from that one area, which makes it the most efficient single trip on this list. The newer Feybreak coastline is the third cluster and skews toward the dual-element Ice Pals.

The share column is how much of that Pal's total spawn pool sits in its top area, so a high number means one trip finds it and a low number means it is scattered. Wumpo at 81%, Cryolinx at 82% and Icelyn at 84% all point at Land of Absolute Zero, so a single run there picks up an S-tier base worker, the element's best melee attacker and its best ranged buffer. At the other end, Smokie Cryst has 8 pins on one islet and Mau Cryst has 3 in the entire world — breed those two rather than hunting them.

All 12 Ice Alpha Bosses

Twelve of the 90 alphas on the map are Ice, and they span a wider level range than any other element's alpha set — from level 11 up to level 78. Alphas are a fixed spawn with a guaranteed respawn, which makes them the fastest route to a high-rank cooler, and three of them are the *only* way to meet their Pal in the wild.

Chillet and Sweepa at level 11 are the earliest, and Sweepa is the better stop of the two because Lv. 3 cooling covers a Cooler Box the moment you can build one. Frostallion at level 60 is the fight that matters — it is a legendary, it drops 10 Ice Organ flat, and it is the element's best mount and best attacker in one. Moldron Cryst at level 78 is the last gate. Route the whole set with the alpha hunting route by level or filter them on the Palworld interactive map.

Frozen Eggs and Breeding Cryst Variants

Eggs are colour-coded by element, so a Frozen Egg only ever hatches an Ice Pal — and 29 different Ice Pals turn up in wild nest pools, which is one of the deeper pools in the game. Sizes run Standard, Large and Huge, and bigger shells skew toward the rarer half of the list. The egg hatch list has the exact per-Pal percentages for every nest grade.

Breeding is the more reliable route, because almost every variant on this list has a fixed pair that produces it. The pattern is consistent enough to memorise: take the base Pal, pair it with an Ice Pal, get the Cryst version. Nineteen combinations cover the entire variant half of the element.

Two Ice Pals sit outside that table entirely. Frostallion and Bastigor can only be bred from two of themselves, so the first copy of each has to be caught — Frostallion from its level 60 alpha, Bastigor from its 69 wild pins. Every fixed pair in the game is listed in the exclusive breeding combos guide, and the mechanics behind the rest are in how breeding works.

How to Farm Ice Organ

Ice Organ is the material the whole cooling chain is built from — 2 for a Cooler Box, 5 for a Cooler, 5 for a Snowman, and then it stops appearing directly and starts appearing as Cryogenic Coolant, which is one organ plus one Aquatic Pal Fluids. Forty-four craftable items and 16 structures need that coolant, so the organ quietly gates a large slice of the mid-game build tree. Every Ice Pal drops it at a 100% rate; the only variable is how many and how easy the Pal is to reach.

Pengullet1–2100%1,1251,125 pins is the densest spawn of any Ice Pal by a factor of three; low payout, enormous throughput

Frostallion pays the most at a flat 10, but a legendary alpha on a respawn timer is not a farm. The honest best route is Reptyro Cryst — 3 to 4 organs a kill across 133 pins — or Pengullet if you want volume over payout, since 1,125 pins is more than triple any other Ice Pal and Pengullet dies to almost anything. Pair either with Cryolinx in a party slot for the drop-rate boost. Organ farming for the other elements is covered in how to get Pal organs fast.

TipFreeze first, then throw. Muffly adds up to five effective capture levels against a frozen target, and Ice is the only element that inflicts Freeze — so an Ice attacker plus Muffly in a party slot is the single biggest deliberate swing you can make on capture odds. It stacks with sphere modules, and it is how most players land a high-level Pal they have no business catching yet.
