How to Get the Advanced Workshop and Craft AI Core
The Advanced Workshop in Palworld: technology level 62 and 5 points, all four build materials, the full raw haul behind them, the 1,000 power it draws, the AI Core it alone can make, and the best Handiwork Pals to run it.

The Advanced Workshop is the fourth and final tier of Palworld's general crafting bench, and it exists for exactly one reason: it is the only structure in the game that produces AI Core, the part every piece of endgame gear is built around. This guide covers the technology level it sits behind, all four build materials and the raw haul underneath them, the electricity it eats, everything AI Cores go into, and which Pal to park on it.
Advanced Workshop at a Glance
Treat this as a gate rather than a convenience upgrade. Your Production Assembly Line II already handles almost every ordinary recipe, so the Advanced Workshop earns its slot on one entry: AI Core. It draws 1,000 electricity, which ties it with four other structures for the seventh-heaviest power draw in the game, and it takes 500,000 build workload to raise — ten times what the tier below it needed. One useful difference from the Ancient Workbench: you can stand at this one and craft yourself, while the Ancient bench is Pal-only.
| What | Detail |
|---|---|
| Type | Base structure, Production tab of the build menu |
| Technology level | Lv. 62 |
| Technology points | 5 |
| Materials | 50 Coralum Ingot, 50 Hexolite, 30 Computer, 20 Bio Battery |
| Build workload | 500,000 |
| Power draw | 1,000 — electric, so it does nothing without a generator on the grid |
| Worker | Handiwork Lv. 1 or better, and the player can craft at it too |
| Exclusive recipe | AI Core — no other bench in the game makes one |
| Previous tier | Production Assembly Line II — Lv. 42, 400 power, 50,000 build workload |
| Next tier | Ancient Workbench — Lv. 67, and it costs 5 AI Cores |
How to Unlock the Advanced Workshop
Reach character level 62, open the Palworld technology tree, and spend 5 technology points. Level 62 is a generous row for this particular project — Coralum Ingot unlocks on it for 3 points and you cannot build the workshop without 50 of them, the Hexolite Quartz Mine gives you a base that farms Hexolite Quartz instead of flying to Feybreak for it, and the Powerful Fishing Magnet is how you drag Coralum Ore off the seabed. Budget 8 points minimum: 5 for the bench, 3 for the ingot. You also need a Gigantic Furnace from level 58 already standing, because both alloys smelt there and nowhere else.
| Technology at Lv. 62 | Points | Do you need it? |
|---|---|---|
| Advanced Workshop | 5 | The bench itself |
| 3 | Yes — 50 of them are line one of the build | |
| Hexolite Quartz Mine | 5 | Optional, but it feeds the 50 Hexolite you need |
| 3 | Yes if you are short on Coralum Ore | |
Frostallion Saddle | 5 | No — mount, not production |
| Futuristic Structure Set | 2 | No — 20 decorative build pieces |
Advanced Workshop Materials and Where to Make Them
Four lines on the build screen, and not one of them can be made at the workshop you are building — the whole bill runs through the Gigantic Furnace and the two assembly lines below it. Computer is the painful entry at 30 copies and 22,440 gold apiece, which by itself is over half the build's 1,167,800 gold value. Start banking Computers well before level 62; they only come off the Production Assembly Line II and each one swallows two Bio Batteries of its own.
| Material | Qty | Made at | Recipe per unit | Value each |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 50 | Gigantic Furnace | 2 Coralum Ore + 5 Coal | 6,000 | |
| 50 | Gigantic Furnace | 1 Chromite + 1 Hexolite Quartz | 3,000 | |
| 30 | Production Assembly Line II | 2 Circuit Board + 3 Plasteel + 2 Bio Battery + 2 Carbon Fiber | 22,440 | |
| 20 | Production Assembly Line II | 1 Electric Organ + 1 Refined Ingot + 1 Carbon Fiber | 2,230 |
The Full Raw Haul
Expand every sub-recipe down to things you dig, chop or kill for, and the four build lines become the list below — plus roughly 82.16 million crafting workload spread across the intermediate steps. The two alloys are 25 million of that each, so the Gigantic Furnace is your real bottleneck, not the workshop. Count 80 Bio Batteries rather than 20, because the 30 Computers eat 60 more, and that is what drives the Electric Organ and Carbon Fiber numbers so high.
| Raw material | Qty | Where you get it |
|---|---|---|
| 1,400 | Chopped anywhere — it all burns into the 700 Charcoal for Carbon Fiber | |
| 610 | Ore nodes; 500 of it goes into Plasteel, 160 into Refined Ingot | |
| 410 | 824 Coal nodes on the map — Coralum Ingot alone takes 250 | |
| 180 | Oil fields, via a Crude Oil Extractor | |
| 140 | Fire Pals — one per Carbon Fiber | |
| 120 | Snowfield nodes, for the 60 Circuit Boards | |
| 120 | Large Pals, for Polymer | |
| 100 | Fished off the seabed with a magnet — see the Coralum Ore location guide | |
| 80 | Electric Pals — Prixter Lux drops 4-5 every kill at 100% | |
| 60 | Volcanic nodes, for Polymer | |
| 50 | Dungeon deposits revealed with the Metal Detector | |
| 50 | Feybreak only — 635 nodes on the map |
What the Advanced Workshop Crafts: AI Core
One exclusive recipe, and it is the single most valuable material in Palworld: AI Core sells for 252,940 gold, five times what a Diamond is worth. Each one is 5,000,000 crafting workload — the same order as a legendary weapon — so a Pal with poor Handiwork will sit on one core for real hours. The hard part of the recipe is the Ancient Civilization Core, which only two Pals in the game drop: Silvance and Dandilord, one guaranteed each. That means one World Tree boss clear per AI Core, no exceptions.
| AI Core | Detail |
|---|---|
| Recipe | 5 Computer + 10 Soralite Ingot + 2 Thermal Core + 1 Ancient Civilization Core |
| Crafting workload | 5,000,000 per core |
| Made at | Advanced Workshop only |
| Merchant value | 252,940 gold — the most valuable material in the game |
| Gear lines that need it | 19, plus the Ancient Workbench structure |
Where Your AI Cores Go
Nineteen craft lines want AI Cores, and building one top-rarity copy of every single one adds up to 209 cores — so this bench stays lit long after the build that unlocked it. The Wing Pack is the one most players should chase first, since a permanent glider upgrade costs 20 cores once and pays off forever, while the launchers are the heaviest per-copy spend in the game. If you only ever make five, spend them on the Ancient Workbench and let a Pal crank out the rest of your endgame kit unattended.
| Craft | AI Cores at top rarity | What it is |
|---|---|---|
Jetragon's Missile Launcher | 24 | Pal gear — the heaviest AI Core cost of anything |
| 20 | Glider — one-time buy, permanent upgrade | |
Beam Launcher | 20 | Best-in-class launcher |
Drone Launcher | 16 | Launcher, second heaviest weapon spend |
Plasma Rifle | 16 | Sustained-fire rifle |
Lightweight Ancient Armor | 14 | Highest-defense body armor in the game |
Ancient Armor | 6 | Cheapest way into the Ancient armor set |
| 3 | Sphere module — the cheapest thing on this list |
Workbench Tiers Compared
Five general benches, and each one claims faster production than the last in its own description, but the practical difference is the recipe list and the power bill. The jump from Production Assembly Line II to the Advanced Workshop is where the costs stop being reasonable: ten times the build workload, two and a half times the power, and materials that need a Gigantic Furnace instead of a chunk of ore. Keep the older bench standing rather than dismantling it — it still makes Computers and Bio Batteries, which the Advanced Workshop cannot.
| Bench | Tech Lv. | Power | Build workload | Materials |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lv. 1 | None | 0 | 2 Wood | |
| Lv. 11 | None | 3,000 | 8 Ingot, 20 Wood, 10 Nail | |
| Lv. 29 | 200 | 10,000 | 100 Ingot, 5 Wooden Board, 20 Nail, 10 Cement | |
| Lv. 42 | 400 | 50,000 | 100 Refined Ingot, 10 Circuit Board, 30 Cement, 5 Corrosive Solvent | |
| Lv. 62 | 1,000 | 500,000 | 50 Coralum Ingot, 50 Hexolite, 30 Computer, 20 Bio Battery |
Best Pals to Staff the Advanced Workshop
The bench runs on Handiwork Lv. 1, so 109 of the 288 Pals qualify, but at 5,000,000 workload per AI Core the ranks matter more here than anywhere else in your base. Only 33 Pals reach Handiwork Lv. 4, only 13 hit Lv. 6, and exactly one sits at the Lv. 8 cap. Put Solenne on it and stop thinking about it; Selyne at Lv. 7 is the runner-up and doubles as your medicine worker. Below that, pick by side job — Anubis mines the ore this bench indirectly eats, and Silvance and Dandilord are the two Pals that drop the Ancient Civilization Core each AI Core needs, so farming them serves double duty.
| Pal | Handiwork | Other jobs | Why it works here |
|---|---|---|---|
Solenne | Lv. 8 | Gathering 4, Transporting 2 | The only Lv. 8 crafter in the game, and it spawns at 47 spots |
Selyne | Lv. 7 | Medicine Production 6, Transporting 3 | Second-fastest crafter; 40 spawn spots |
Anubis | Lv. 6 | Mining 6, Transporting 4 | Best all-rounder — mines Ore and Coal between crafts |
Silvance | Lv. 6 | Medicine Production 8, Planting 6, Gathering 4 | Drops the Ancient Civilization Core that gates AI Core |
Dandilord | Lv. 6 | Planting 8, Medicine Production 6, Gathering 5 | The other guaranteed Ancient Civilization Core source |
Wistella | Lv. 6 | Medicine Production 6, Transporting 1 | The cheapest Lv. 6 crafter to get hold of, at 40 spawn spots |
Venusa | Lv. 6 | Gathering 6, Medicine Production 5 | Solid filler if your good crafters are already assigned |
Is the Advanced Workshop Worth It?
It is mandatory rather than optional, but only from the point you want Ancient gear. Nothing else makes AI Core, and 19 craft lines plus the Ancient Workbench all demand it, so the honest answer to "when" is level 62 with a Gigantic Furnace already smelting, roughly 100 Coralum Ore and 410 Coal banked, 30 Computers stockpiled, and a generator that can spare 1,000 electricity. Build it, park your best Handiwork Pal on it, and treat every World Tree boss run afterwards as an AI Core run.
