Cold-Resistant Ancient Armor Schematic Location and Stats — Palworld Database

Cold-Resistant Ancient Armor ties for the highest defence value in Palworld at 840, and it is the only snow suit in the game that never asks you to trade survivability for warmth. Hunting its Legendary schematic works nothing like the rest of the armor tree, though — no supply beacon stocks it, no Pal drops it, and no enemy camp hides it. This guide covers the full stat card at Technology Lv 77, every source that rolls the four schematic tiers, the Drafting Table maths, and the one recipe line that makes this suit cheaper to finish than its heat-resistant twin.

Cold-Resistant Ancient Armor Stats

840 defence is the equipment ceiling — nothing you can equip in Palworld puts a higher number in the defence slot, and only the two sibling Ancient variants match it. Against the plain Ancient Armor that's 40 more defence for five less weight, so there is no downside to the swap once you can build it. The resistance package is what you're really paying for: Cold 3, plus Heat 2 riding along free. That second rating matters more than it sounds — this is not a suit you strip off the moment you leave the snow, because Heat 2 is exactly what every dedicated heat suit below Tech 63 gives you anyway.

Defence is only meaningful against other armor, so read 840 against the body slot and never against a weapon's attack number. Inside that class it wins by a distance: Cold Resistant Hexolite Armor at 600 is the nearest cold competitor and it arrives thirteen tech levels earlier, while every other cold suit in the game stops at 400 or below. The 25,000 durability is the quieter win — it means a Common-rarity craft of this armor outlasts most families even at their upgraded rarities, so you are not forced to chase a rare schematic just to stop repairing your chest piece.

Where the Legendary Schematic Drops

The Ancient set is split down the middle, and that split is the single most useful thing to know before you start farming. The Ancient Helm and the base Ancient Armor roll out of Sky Island supply drops at 0.14% for the Legendary tier and turn up in that region's chests and camps too. The three climate variants — cold, heat and lightweight — appear in no supply pool anywhere on the map, and they are absent from chest and camp tables as well. Their schematics come out of the World Tree, full stop, and the top three tiers get one extra route that Schematic 1 does not.

Schematic 2RareAll 5 relic gradesBoth spot typesYesNoneNone
Schematic 3EpicAll 5 relic gradesBoth spot typesYesNoneNone
Schematic 4LegendaryAll 5 relic gradesBoth spot typesYesNoneNone

Two things in that grid are worth a second look. The tier 5 dig column is upside down compared to every other schematic family — the basic Schematic 1 is the one tier a top-grade dig can't produce, so any dig that lands on this line lands at Rare or better. And the empty right-hand columns are the headline: exactly seven Legendary schematics in Palworld are locked entirely behind World Tree loot, and three of them are the Ancient armor variants. The other four are Beam Scatter, Drone Launcher, Plasma Rifle and Beam Launcher. If a route doesn't start in the World Tree, it isn't a route to this armor.

The Ancient Relic Recycler Route

The Ancient Relic Recycler is the only source here you can pull on demand, which makes it the spine of the whole farm. It unlocks at Technology Lv 74 for 3 Technology Points, costs 50 Paloxite Ingot, 50 Mythical Wood, 30 Ancient Civilization Parts and 20 Ancient Civilization Core to build, draws 800 power and wants one Handiwork Pal. Every relic you feed it returns guaranteed Mythical Wood and Paloxite plus a bonus roll, and the relic grade swings that bonus roll by more than a hundred times.

Glowing Ancient RelicEpicClimbing7–95–10
Glistening Ancient RelicLegendaryRoughly 1 in 59–115–10

Only the bottom row behaves like a farm. At roughly one schematic per five Glistening relics the machine actually fires often enough for the rarity split beneath it to matter, and when it does fire it picks one of the seven World Tree families at random — so a hit lands on this armor about one time in seven. Recycling Decayed relics at 1-in-750 is a waste of a machine slot; hoard those for the wood and stop there. There's a second reason the top grade is the one to bank: it also pays 9–11 Paloxite and 5–10 Ancient Civilization Cores per pull, and those feed this armor's Paloxite Ingots and AI Cores directly. The schematic hunt and the material hunt are the same trip.

World Tree Fishing: 77 Spots That Roll It

This is the source almost nobody thinks to check, and for a Legendary armor schematic it is absurdly safe. Both World Tree fishing pools carry all four tiers of this line — the ordinary spots and the rarer treasure spots — which is 77 pins you can work with zero combat risk while the recycler grinds away at your base. The trade-off is pool depth: the treasure spots draw from a wider table, so each individual cast there is spread thinner even though the average payout is better.

Practical order of operations: fish the 55 ordinary spots, recycle every Glistening relic, and dig every tier 5 map you turn up. The ordinary spots are the ones to prioritise because their table is the tightest of the four sources, which makes each cast the best per-pull chance at this specific line. Note what is *not* on the list — the World Tree hides 690 loot caches and 38 treasure chests, and none of them roll this schematic, so opening containers on your way past is a materials trip rather than a schematic trip. Everything above is pinned on the Palworld interactive map.

Why No Boss and No Beacon Drops It

It's worth being blunt about this, because it's where people lose weekends. There is no Alpha, no tower boss and no raid that carries a Cold-Resistant Ancient Armor schematic, and there is no supply beacon in any region that stocks one. The rest of the Ancient set makes the contrast clear — the two Sky Island pieces are farmable in exactly the way the three climate variants aren't.

If you are camping Sky Island supply drops in the hope of eventually seeing a cold schematic, you are in the wrong region and always will be. Camp them anyway, but camp them for the right reasons: the base Ancient Armor sits only 40 defence behind this suit, unlocks nine tech levels earlier, and its Legendary schematic really does roll at 0.14% off that beacon. Wear that while you hunt this one, and read the legendary Ancient Armor guide for the full picture across all five pieces.

Build It Instead: The Drafting Table Route

With no beacon and no boss to farm, the Drafting Table stops being a shortcut and becomes the plan. It unlocks all the way back at Technology Lv 45 for 4 Technology Points, costs 20 Refined Ingot, 10 High Quality Wooden Board and 30 Charcoal, and turns five identical schematics into one of the next rarity up. This line has no missing rungs, so every scroll you find feeds the ladder.

TargetCombine costEquivalent in Schematic 1sGlistening relics needed
Schematic 2Schematic 15~175
Schematic 3Schematic 225~875
Schematic 4 - LegendarySchematic 3125~4,375

Treat the right-hand column as a rough shape, not a promise. It chains the recycler's roughly-1-in-5 schematic rate with the one-in-seven family split — about 35 Glistening relics for every schematic that lands on this line — and then pessimistically counts each landing as a Schematic 1. Reality is kinder, because a decent share of hits arrive at Rare or Epic and skip whole rungs, and every fishing pull and tier 5 dig you fold in shortens the count further. What the number honestly tells you is scale: this is a four-figure relic project, not a weekend. Combine only when you're holding a clean five, never burn Schematic 1s early — those are exactly what you'll wish you had when a lucky Epic leaves you one short of the top. Full combine rules are in the schematic upgrade guide.

TipCraft the Common version the day you hit Tech Lv 77 rather than waiting on a rarity roll. Every tier of this armor grants the identical Cold 3 protection — rarity moves defence and HP, never the temperature rating — so a Common suit you're wearing tonight beats a Legendary schematic you haven't rolled yet. And if all you actually need is to stop freezing, a Thermal Undershirt carries the same Cold 3 rating in an accessory slot for 2 weight, built from nothing rarer than 20 Wool, 15 Ice Organ, 25 Leather and 10 Cloth.

How to Craft Cold-Resistant Ancient Armor

Three lines on the recipe card, and it is still one of the most expensive builds in the game. Everything happens at the Ancient Workbench, which unlocks at Technology Lv 67 and wants 50 Soralite Ingot, 5 AI Core and 20 Bio Battery to build plus 2,000 power to run — the bench alone is a project. Watch the AI Cores in particular: five to build the workbench, then five more for every suit you craft on it.

MaterialQtyMade from
Paloxite Ingot301 Soralite Ore + 2 Paloxite + 1 World Tree Holy Water each
AI Core55 Computer + 10 Soralite Ingot + 2 Thermal Core + 1 Ancient Civilization Core each
Cryogenic Coolant501 Aquatic Pal Fluids + 1 Ice Organ each, at the Production Assembly Line

Expand those rows one level and the real bill lands: 130 Soralite Ore, 100 Pure Quartz, 60 Paloxite, 30 World Tree Holy Water, 25 Computers, 5 Ancient Civilization Cores, 10 Thermal Cores, 50 Aquatic Pal Fluids and 50 Ice Organs. The Thermal Cores are hidden demand — they don't appear on the armor's own recipe at all, they come in under the AI Cores, and they drag 40 Flame Organ, 80 Coal, 20 Corrosive Solvent and 20 Stainless Steel Ingot along with them. Nothing on that list is hard to find. It is simply long.

Farm 50 Cryogenic Coolant Without Fighting Anything

Fifty Cryogenic Coolant is the line that scares people off this suit, and it shouldn't. Each unit is a two-ingredient craft at the Production Assembly Line — unlocked way back at Technology Lv 29 for 200 power — costing one Aquatic Pal Fluids and one Ice Organ at 10,000 work apiece. That's 50 of each ingredient and 500,000 work in total, which is under half a percent of what this armor costs overall. Better still, both ingredients are ranch products, so you can produce the entire batch passively while you're off hunting relics.

RoutePalYieldWhy pick it
Ranch — Ice OrganFoxciclePassiveOne of only two Pals that produce Ice Organ on a ranch, and the stronger of the pair at Farming 3 — 187 spawn points, so it's easy to catch a few
Ranch — Pal FluidsKelpseaPassiveThe only ranch source of Aquatic Pal Fluids, catchable in your first hours, and everywhere — 1,359 spawn points
Hunt — Ice OrganBastigor2–5 at 100%Field-spawning, so it's a repeatable route rather than a one-off boss
Hunt — Ice OrganPierdon Cryst4–5 at 100%Highest guaranteed drop among Ice Pals you can find in the wild
Hunt — Ice OrganFrostallion10 at 100%The biggest single payout in the game, but it's a Legendary — one fight, not a farm
Hunt — Pal FluidsSuzaku Aqua5 at 100%Top guaranteed Aquatic Pal Fluids drop, and it spawns in the field
Hunt — Pal FluidsAzurobe2–4 at 100%Easy, common alternative if Suzaku Aqua is out of your level band

Every rate in that table is a 100% guaranteed drop, so the only variable is how many bodies you go through — no luck involved. The ranch rows are the ones to act on first: park a Kelpsea and a Foxcicle on a ranch the moment you decide to build this armor and the coolant will be waiting by the time your relic grind finishes. If you'd rather just get it done, Bastigor and Suzaku Aqua clear both ingredient lists in a handful of runs — both are field-spawning, so you can find them on the interactive map and repeat the route. This is the reason the cold suit is genuinely less painful than it looks: the 50-unit line is the cheap part, not the expensive one.

The Real Cost Is Work, Not Materials

The material counts undersell this build badly. Total the crafting work for the armor and every crafted component beneath it and one suit comes to roughly 102,250,000 work units — the armor's own 500,000 is less than half a percent of that. The AI Core chain is the culprit: 5,000,000 work each, sitting on top of the Soralite Ingots and Computers that feed them. Plan your base against this table, not the shopping list.

StepQtyWork eachWork total
Soralite Ingot (for the AI Cores)50700,00035,000,000
Paloxite Ingot301,000,00030,000,000

Thermal Core10500,0005,000,000
Cryogenic Coolant5010,000500,000
Cold-Resistant Ancient Armor1500,000500,000

That total still stops one layer short — the Plastic, Carbon Fiber, Circuit Boards and Bio Batteries under those 25 Computers aren't counted, and neither is the Corrosive Solvent and Stainless Steel under the Thermal Cores. The takeaway is that your base is the bottleneck, not your inventory: stack Handiwork Pals on the Ancient Workbench, run a second bench if you can power it, and start the Soralite Ingot and Computer batches long before the schematic shows up. Build costs and worker requirements for every station are on the Palworld structures list.

Sourcing the World Tree Materials

Two of the three ingot ingredients exist in exactly one place, which is convenient — the same World Tree trips that hunt the schematic also fill your material bag. Paloxite drops in the field and falls out of every relic you recycle, scaling from 1–3 on a Decayed relic to 9–11 on a Glistening one, so the recycler quietly pays your ingot bill while it rolls for the scroll. World Tree Holy Water is field drops only at 5–10 a pickup, and you need 30. Soralite Ore is the outlier: it's a Sky Island resource, and the fastest way to 130 of it isn't mining.

MaterialNeededBest source

Ice Organ50Ranch a Foxcicle, or hunt Pierdon Cryst for 4–5 guaranteed
Aquatic Pal Fluids50Ranch a Kelpsea, or hunt Suzaku Aqua for 5 guaranteed

The first row is the shortcut most players miss. A Sky Island supply drop hands over 30 to 40 Soralite Ore at a guaranteed 100%, so four or five beacons cover the whole 130 without a single pickaxe swing — and you'd be sitting on those beacons anyway for the Ancient Armor and Ancient Helm schematics. The Ancient Civilization Core row is another freebie, since one Dormant-or-better relic already pays 5–10 and you only need five. Only the 100 Pure Quartz sends you somewhere unrelated, and with 607 nodes on the map that's a time cost rather than a luck one.

Can You Even Build It Yet?

Technology Lv 77 is the headline gate, but six supporting nodes sit underneath it and every one is a station you have to build and power. Work down this checklist before you go schematic hunting, because a Legendary scroll does nothing in your bag until the furnace, the bench and the ingot chain exist behind it. The five nodes above the Production Assembly Line cost 27 Technology Points between them, all of the ordinary kind rather than the Ancient points you pry out of tower bosses.

Power draw is the trap in that list. The Ancient Furnace at 3,000 and the Ancient Workbench at 2,000 are two of the hungriest structures in the game and you need both running simultaneously to make progress — that's a generator problem long before it's a materials problem. The sequencing is kind, at least: the recycler lands at Lv 74, three levels before the armor, so by the time you can craft the suit you've already had the schematic farm switched on for a while. The whole tree is laid out on the Palworld technology page.

How It Compares to Every Other Cold Armor

Eight body armors are purpose-built for cold weather and they span Technology Lv 9 to Lv 77. This one leads on every column at once — defence, HP, durability and rating — which almost never happens in Palworld's gear tree. The comparison that actually matters is the second row, not the first: Cold Resistant Hexolite Armor hands you the identical Cold 3 rating thirteen tech levels earlier for a tiny fraction of the build, which means the 240 extra defence is precisely what you're paying 102 million work for.

Read the last column before you read the first. Everything from the Tundra Outfit at Tech 9 up to Plasteel at Tech 54 gives the same Cold 2 protection — climbing that ladder never makes you warmer, it only makes you harder to kill while you're cold. If the weather is your entire complaint, the Tundra Outfit solves it at Tech 9 for 4 weight and a handful of Cloth. What Tech 77 buys is survivability against the things that live in those places, and it does it without a weight penalty — 35 is mid-table for the class and five lighter than the Pal Metal tier twenty-seven levels below. Every piece is compared side by side on the Palworld armor database.

What a Legendary Version Actually Gains

Rarity raises the crafted armor's numbers, and every armor family in Palworld climbs the same four multipliers — ×1.3, ×1.4, ×1.5 and ×1.6 of the Common's defence, with the HP bonus following an identical curve. Pocketpair has never published the upgraded Ancient recipes, so the figures below are that curve applied to 840 rather than measured values. The shape is dependable even if the last digit isn't.

RarityDefence - estimatedHP bonus - estimatedMultiplier
Common8402,400Base — the only certain row
Uncommon~1,092~3,120×1.3
Rare~1,176~3,360×1.4
Epic~1,260~3,600×1.5
Legendary~1,344~3,840×1.6

840 is the only number in that table you can bank on, so treat the rest as close estimates. Durability is deliberately left out — the Common already sits at 25,000, higher than most families reach even at Legendary, and durability doesn't scale on a clean multiplier anywhere in the game. What the estimate does settle is whether the grind pays: a Legendary at roughly 1,344 defence would put you about 60% above a suit that already leads the entire game, and roughly 120% above a Common Cold Resistant Hexolite Armor. Each rarity step also stacks an accuracy bonus the Common doesn't get — and adds Ancient Civilization Parts to a recipe that was already brutal.

Cold, Heat or Lightweight: Which Ancient Suit First?

All three climate variants share the exact same 840 defence, 2,400 HP, 25,000 durability and 35 weight, and all three roll from the same World Tree sources at the same rates — so there is no farming decision here, only a crafting one. Build whichever matches where you're actually spending your time. The cold suit lands two tech levels after heat and two before lightweight, and it's the cheapest of the three to finish once you count the work rather than the item counts.

The third-material row looks damning for the cold suit and isn't. Fifty units sounds far worse than the heat version's six Thermal Core, but a Cryogenic Coolant costs 10,000 work against a Thermal Core's 500,000 — so the cold line is 2.5 million work cheaper overall, and its two ingredients come off a ranch instead of a smelting chain. Lightweight is the genuinely expensive one: two extra AI Cores drag twenty more Soralite Ingot and four more Thermal Core in behind them, which is what puts it nearly thirty million work clear of the other two and explains its higher gold value. Sensible order is heat first if you're pushing the volcano, cold first if you're living in the snow, and lightweight last unless hauling is truly your bottleneck.

The Short Answer

There is no supply drop, no boss and no chest for this one — the Cold-Resistant Ancient Armor schematic exists only in World Tree loot, unlike the Ancient Armor and Ancient Helm schematics that roll at 0.14% off Sky Island beacons. Three routes, and you should run all three: the [[page:/guides/ancient-relic-recycler|Ancient Relic Recycler]] at Tech Lv 74, where a Glistening relic rolls a schematic about one time in five; the 77 World Tree fishing spots — 55 ordinary, 22 treasure — which stock all four tiers at zero risk; and tier 5 treasure map digs, which pay Schematic 2 and up but never Schematic 1. Bank every tier and let the Drafting Table finish the job: five Schematic 1s make a 2, and 125 make a Legendary. Craft the Common the day you hit Tech Lv 77 — 30 Paloxite Ingot, 5 AI Core and 50 Cryogenic Coolant on the Ancient Workbench, roughly 102.25 million work in total. Park a Kelpsea and a Foxcicle on a ranch now and the coolant handles itself. At 840 defence and Cold 3 it's the best snow armor in Palworld, and it costs exactly what that implies.
