How to Get the Human-Powered Generator and How It Works
Everything the Human-Powered Generator costs in Palworld: technology level 26 and 1 point, the 5 Wooden Board and 5 Electric Organ recipe, the best Pals to farm Electric Organ from, why any Pal can run it, and when to build the Power Generator instead.

The Human-Powered Generator is the cheap level 26 build that gets electricity into your base without owning a single Electric Pal — any Pal you own can climb in and start turning the wheel. This guide covers its technology level and point cost, both materials and where to farm them, what the job does to the Pal inside, which Pals to staff it with, and the point where you should stop using it and build a Power Generator instead.
Human-Powered Generator at a Glance
It sits in the Infrastructure tab of the build menu, right next to the Power Generator it is meant to stand in for. Two things make it unusual. First, its work suitability is listed as Anyone at rank 1, so every single Pal in the Paldeck qualifies — no other power source in the game works that way. Second, the Pal turning the wheel earns experience while it works, which no other base facility does. The trade-offs are baked into the same description: output is deliberately poor, and the Pal's SAN drains while it grinds away.
| What | Detail |
|---|---|
| Type | Base structure, Infrastructure tab |
| Technology level | Lv. 26 |
| Technology points | 1 |
| Materials | 5 Wooden Board, 5 Electric Organ |
| Work suitability | Anyone, rank 1 — every Pal in the game can staff it |
| Upside | The assigned Pal gains EXP while it works |
| Downside | Low power output, and the Pal's SAN drops the whole time |

How to Unlock the Human-Powered Generator
Reach character level 26, open the Palworld Technology Tree, and spend a single technology point. That one point is the whole appeal — level 26 is a crowded row, and the Power Generator sitting on the same rung wants three points plus a real ingot bill. If you are hoarding points for the Makeshift SMG or a saddle, the Human-Powered Generator is the unlock you can take without feeling it. Note that the Single-Shot Sphere Launcher on this row is a boss technology, so it draws from your Ancient Technology Points rather than the normal pool.
| Level 26 technology | Point cost |
|---|---|
| Human-Powered Generator | 1 |
| Lamp | 1 |
| Antique Lamp Set | 1 |
| Mounted Crossbow | 2 |
| Power Generator | 3 |
| Makeshift SMG | 3 |
| Fenglope Saddle | 3 |
| Polapup Saddle | 3 |
| Single-Shot Sphere Launcher | 4 (boss technology) |
Human-Powered Generator Materials
Ten items total, and neither half is expensive. The wood side is pure early-game busywork: five Wooden Board burn 50 Wood, 25 Fiber and 5 Nail, and since one Ingot forges five Nails, the metal cost of the entire build is a single Ingot. The organ side is the only part that can stall you, and even then a merchant will sell you the lot for 1,500 Gold.
| Material | Qty | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| 5 | Crafted at the Primitive Workbench from 10 Wood, 5 Fiber and 1 Nail each — the recipe unlocks at Lv. 15 for 1 point | |
| 5 | A guaranteed drop from 23 different Electric Pals, or 300 Gold each from a merchant |
How to Get Electric Organ
Every Pal below drops Electric Organ at a 100% rate, so the only question is how many you get per Pal and how many of them are standing around. Beakon is the volume answer with 504 spawn points, most of them packed around Duneshelter in the desert. Prixter Lux pays the most per kill at 4-5 organs, but all 35 of its spawn points sit on Sandstone Gate Islet, so it is a trip rather than a farm. At level 26 the realistic play is much smaller: Sparkit and Jolthog both spawn around the Small Settlement, and five kills between them covers the whole build.
| Pal | Organs per kill | Spawn points | Where they cluster |
|---|---|---|---|
Prixter Lux | 4-5 | 35 | Sandstone Gate Islet — all 35 points |
Grizzbolt | 2-4 | 40 | Spread thin, no single hotspot |
Azurmane | 2-3 | 112 | Feybreak Tower Entrance (43%) |
Relaxaurus Lux | 2-3 | 17 | Hill Entrance and Silent Lake |
Dynamoff | 2 | 26 | Waterlily Gorge (96%) |
Penking Lux | 1-3 | 252 | Secluded Cemetery (21%) |
Beakon | 1-2 | 504 | Duneshelter (20%) |
Rayhound | 1-2 | 235 | Loess Plains (27%) |
Pengullet Lux | 1-2 | 653 | Night only, all across the desert coast |
Sparkit | 1-2 | 45 | Small Settlement (38%) |
Dazzi | 1 | 140 | Anubis Dunes (53%) |
Jolthog | 1 | 24 | Small Settlement — all 24 points |
If you would rather not hunt at all, Electric Organ is stocked by the village and caravan merchants at 300 Gold apiece, which makes the generator a 1,500 Gold purchase. That is a genuinely good deal at this stage — see How to Farm Gold Fast if your wallet is empty, and How to Get Pal Organs Fast for the other four organ types you will need shortly after.
How to Get Wooden Board
Wooden Board is a Primitive Workbench craft you unlock at level 15 for one point, and it is worth having regardless — the same boards go into the Fluffy Pal Bed and most of the mid-tier furniture. Each board eats 10 Wood, 5 Fiber and 1 Nail, so five of them means 50 Wood, 25 Fiber and 5 Nails. Park a Lumbering Pal on a logging site and the wood and fiber sort themselves out; the Nails are the only step that needs a furnace, and one Ingot covers all five.
What the Human-Powered Generator Actually Does
It converts a Pal running on a wheel into base electricity. The reason it exists is staffing: only 25 of the 288 Pals in the Paldeck have the Generating Electricity work suitability at all, and if you have not caught one of them yet, a Power Generator is a very expensive ornament. This build sidesteps that entirely. It is also the only facility in the build menu that pays the assigned Pal experience points, so a low-level Pal parked on the wheel is quietly levelling while it powers your lights.
The catch is output. Pocketpair has not published exact wattage figures for any generator, but the game flags this one's efficiency as low on the tin, and the material cost tells the same story — 5 organs against the Power Generator's 20. Treat it as a starter grid. At level 26 you unlock the Lamp, Wall Lamp and Chandelier set alongside it, and lighting is exactly the kind of low draw it handles happily. The moment you want the Electric Egg Incubator at level 36 or an Electric Furnace at 44, you want real generators behind them.
Human-Powered Generator vs Power Generator
Both unlock at level 26, which is the whole decision point. The Human-Powered Generator costs one technology point and a pile of wood; the Power Generator costs three points, 50 Ingot and 20 Electric Organ, and it will sit dead until you own an Electric Pal. Build the human-powered one first, then add a Power Generator the week you catch something like Rayhound or Grizzbolt. Note the far right column on the Ancient Power Generator: rank 6 Generating Electricity is a bar only three Pals in the game clear — Orserk at rank 8, Dynamoff and Solmora Lux at rank 6.
| Generator | Level | Points | Materials | Who can run it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 26 | 1 | 5 Wooden Board, 5 Electric Organ | Any Pal (Anyone rank 1) | |
| 26 | 3 | 50 Ingot, 20 Electric Organ | Generating Electricity rank 1 | |
| 50 | 4 | 200 Pal Metal Ingot, 200 Electric Organ | Generating Electricity rank 1 | |
| 75 | 5 | 100 Paloxite Ingot, 200 Electric Organ, 10 Ancient Civilization Core | Generating Electricity rank 6 |
Which Pals to Put on the Human-Powered Generator
Because the suitability is Anyone at rank 1, nobody is better at the job than anybody else on paper — a Lamball turns the wheel exactly as well as a legendary. What actually moves the needle is passive skills and who you want levelled. Staff it with a Pal that has no other job at your base, ideally a breeding leftover you want to grow, and let the EXP do something useful. Keep your specialists where they belong: a Mining or Handiwork Pal on the wheel is a Pal not doing the thing you caught it for.
Work Speed Passives Worth Having
Work Speed drives everything a Pal does at base, this wheel included, and the good passives stack. Artisan is the realistic target since it shows up on ordinary catches and breeds reliably; Remarkable Craftsmanship and Demon's Hand are the ceiling. Demon's Hand is a double-edged pick here — the fastest work speed in the game, but it also accelerates SAN loss on a job that already drains SAN, so it belongs on a Pal you are willing to rotate out often. Avoid the bottom three entirely; a Slacker on the wheel is worse than an empty slot you never noticed.
| Passive | Effect |
|---|---|
| Demon's Hand | Work Speed +90%, but SAN drops 15% faster |
| Remarkable Craftsmanship | Work Speed +75% |
| Artisan | Work Speed +50% |
| Work Slave | Work Speed +30%, Shot Attack -30% |
| Lucky | Work Speed +20%, Shot Attack +15%, Defense +15% |
| Serious | Work Speed +20% |
| Conceited | Work Speed +10%, Defense -10% |
| Clumsy | Work Speed -10% — avoid |
| Slacker | Work Speed -30% — avoid |
| Musclehead | Work Speed -50%, Shot Attack +30% — a combat passive, keep it off your base roster |
SAN Passives That Keep Them Working
SAN is the real limiter on this build, so a Pal that loses it slower stays productive longer between hot spring trips. Heart of the Immovable King is the strongest clean option at -20%, and Workaholic and Positive Thinker are common enough to breed onto anything. Hermit Sage cuts SAN loss in half but costs 20% Work Speed, which is a fine trade on a generator you want running unattended overnight and a bad one on a production line. Unstable and Destructive do the reverse and turn a wheel shift into a meltdown.
| Passive | Effect |
|---|---|
| Hermit Sage | SAN loss -50%, Work Speed -20% |
| Heart of the Immovable King | SAN loss -20% |
| Workaholic | SAN loss -15% |
| Positive Thinker | SAN loss -10% |
| Unstable | SAN loss +10% — avoid |
| Destructive | SAN loss +15% — avoid |
Electricity Specialists to Keep Off the Wheel
These are the Pals with the highest Generating Electricity ranks in the game, and putting one on a Human-Powered Generator wastes the only thing it is rare for. Catch any of them and your next build should be a proper Power Generator — the rank applies there, not here, where everyone is capped at 1. Orserk at rank 8 is the outright best power Pal in Palworld, and Grizzbolt is the most forgiving to get hold of since it doubles as a rank 5 Transporting worker.
| Pal | Generating Electricity | Other jobs it covers |
|---|---|---|
Orserk | Rank 8 | Transporting 4, Handiwork 3 |
Dynamoff | Rank 6 | Gathering 3, Transporting 3 |
Solmora Lux | Rank 6 | Watering 4 |
Azurmane | Rank 5 | None |
Fenglope Lux | Rank 5 | Lumbering 4 |
Grizzbolt | Rank 5 | Transporting 5, Handiwork 4, Lumbering 3 |
Beakon | Rank 4 | None |
Rayhound | Rank 4 | None |
How to Stop Your Pals Burning Out
A Pal on the wheel loses SAN the entire shift, and once it bottoms out the Pal stops working, starts wandering, and can eventually turn on the base. The fix is boring and cheap: a Hot Spring unlocks at level 9 for two points and costs 20 Wood, 15 Stone, 7 Paldium Fragment and 3 Aquatic Pal Fluids, which you can afford long before the generator itself. Build the spring first, then the generator. The High Quality Hot Spring at level 31 is the upgrade worth taking soon after, and the Alpha Wave Generator at 41 slows SAN loss across every Pal in the base at once — note that placing a second one does nothing.
| Build | Level | Points | Materials | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 9 | 2 | 20 Wood, 15 Stone, 7 Paldium Fragment, 3 Aquatic Pal Fluids | Restores SAN for resting Pals | |
| 31 | 3 | 50 Stone, 50 Wood, 3 Cryogenic Coolant, 10 Cement | Same job, restores more SAN | |
| 41 | 3 | 40 Refined Ingot, 20 Circuit Board, 10 Corrosive Solvent, 20 Paldium Fragment | Slows SAN loss for the whole base — one is enough | |
| 64 | 3 | 30 Coralum Ingot, 10 Thermal Core, 20 Paldium Fragment, 20 Hardwood | Extra SAN recovery on top of the earlier springs |
Is the Human-Powered Generator Worth Building?
Yes, if you hit level 26 without an Electric Pal — one technology point, roughly 50 Wood and one Ingot, and five organs you can buy for 1,500 Gold gets your first lights on and levels a spare Pal while it runs. No, if you already have Grizzbolt or Rayhound in the box, because the Power Generator on the same technology row does the job properly and you will only build this once. Either way it stays useful as a backup for a second base you have not staffed yet.
