List of All 70 Dark Type Pals and Where to Find Them
Every Dark type Pal in Palworld with its attack, HP, defence, best job, spawn count and map link — plus what Dark counters, the top fighters and mounts, the 11 night-only spawns, all 19 Dark alphas, the breeding pairs, and how to farm Dark Radiant Gems.

Dark is the biggest element in Palworld and it is not close. Seventy Pals carry Dark, which is 23 more than the next-largest roster, and only one element in the whole game is super-effective against it. This is every Dark Pal with its attack, HP, defence, best job and spawn count, plus what Dark beats, the strongest fighters and mounts, the 11 Pals that refuse to spawn until sundown, all 19 Dark alpha markers, the breeding pairs, and where to farm Dark Radiant Gem.
All 70 Dark Type Pals
Seventy of the game's 288 Pals wear Dark, which is 24% of the Paldex and the largest element roster in Palworld. Thirty-eight are pure Dark and 32 are dual-element, and Fire is by far the most common partner at ten Pals, followed by five with Water, four each with Ground and Grass, three with Dragon, and two apiece with Ice, Electric and Neutral. The Attack column takes the higher of each Pal's melee and ranged base value, and Top Job is the work suitability that Pal is best at.

| 195 | Bellanoir | Dark | 150 | 120 | 100 | Handiwork Lv 5 | No wild spawns |
| 195B | Bellanoir Libero | Dark | 150 | 120 | 100 | Medicine Production Lv 7 | No wild spawns |
| 196 | Xenolord | Dark / Dragon | 120 | 130 | 120 | Gathering Lv 2 | No wild spawns |
| 199 | Necromus | Dark | 145 | 130 | 120 | Lumbering Lv 6 | No wild spawns |
| 200B | Frostallion Noct | Dark | 140 | 140 | 135 | Gathering Lv 7 | No wild spawns |
Twelve of the seventy never appear as a wild spawn at all — the two legendary steeds, the two Bellanoir forms, the raid dragon Xenolord, and a handful of Feybreak natives you either breed or meet as an alpha. At the other extreme Bushi Noct is the densest Dark spawn in the game at 1,990 pins, with Omascul at 1,621 and Smokie at 1,620 right behind it. Four Pals tie for the element's top attack at 150 — Incineram, Incineram Noct, Bellanoir and Bellanoir Libero — while Frostallion Noct is the best-rounded body on the list at 140 attack, 140 HP and 135 defence, and Shadowbeak's 140 defence is the highest single defensive stat here.
Dark Type Strengths and Weaknesses
Dark has the cleanest defensive profile of any element on the Palworld type chart. It is beaten by Dragon and nothing else, and Dragon is the smallest roster in the game at 25 Pals — so a pure Dark Pal walks into an unknown fight with less exposure than anything else you can bring. The trade-off is that it only punishes one element back, and that element is Neutral, which is not where the dangerous fights are.
| Situation | Damage | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| Your Dark move hits a Neutral Pal | ~1.5× | 36 Pals, including most of the early-game ranch and farm roster |
| A Dragon move hits your Dark Pal | ~1.5× against you | Dark's only weakness — 25 Pals, the thinnest element in the game |
| A Dragon move hits Astegon or Eidrolon | ~1.5× against you | Dragon / Dark hybrids stack their own weakness on top, so Ice hurts them too |
| A Dark move hits Selyne or Solenne | ~1.5× against you | The two Dark / Neutral Pals are the only Dark bodies that take bonus damage from Dark itself |
| A Grass or Electric move hits Ghangler | ~1.5× against you | The five Water / Dark hybrids carry three weaknesses each, the worst spread in the element |
The practical read: 38 of the 70 have a single weakness, 27 have two and only 5 have three, and those five are exactly the Water / Dark hybrids. If you are picking one Dark Pal to carry into content you have not scouted, take a pure one and you will almost never eat a bonus. The multiplier keys off the move, not the body, so a Neutral Pal holding Dark Skill Fruit: Dark Laser still punishes Neutral targets; the full breakdown lives in Super Effective and Resistance Explained.
Best Dark Pals for Combat
Dark is a genuine top-tier combat element and the depth is the point. It takes 3 of the 14 S-tier slots on our Palworld tier list and 8 more in A, which is 11 of the 43 top-tier slots in total — second only to Dragon's 12, off a roster nearly three times the size. Better still, four Dark Pals are born with a Dark damage passive already attached, which no other element can say.
| Pal | Tier | Elements | Attack | HP | Why Bring It |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Necromus | S | Dark | 145 | 130 | 145 attack behind 130 HP, and it rolls Legend and Lord of the Underworld naturally — +20% attack, +20% defence, +20% move speed and +30% Dark damage before you fit a single accessory. Its exclusive Twin Spears hits for 700. |
Frostallion Noct | S | Dark | 140 | 140 | The best-rounded body in the element at 140 / 140 / 135, with the same Legend and Lord of the Underworld pair. Its partner skill swaps your own attacks to Dark, adds up to +40% ranged attack and stacks Darkness on what you hit. |
Eidrolon | S | Dragon / Dark | 125 | 115 | 120 defence on a Lv 69 alpha that also happens to be the fastest Dark mount in the game. Its partner skill feeds you ranged attack and move speed at the same time. |
Bellanoir Libero | A | Dark | 150 | 120 | Joint-highest attack in the element and the strongest natural passive on this list — Siren of the Void is +30% Dark and +30% Ice damage at once. Medicine Production Lv 7 means it earns its slot at base too. |
Bellanoir | A | Dark | 150 | 120 | The same 150 attack from a raid altar you can reach much earlier. Handiwork Lv 5 keeps it useful at the bench between fights. |
Dandilord | A | Grass / Dark | 135 | 125 | Owns Toxic Dance, the highest-power Dark move in the game at 800, plus Poison Promenade at 700. Its partner skill layers Poison onto your attacks. |
Shadowbeak | A | Dark | 130 | 120 | 140 defence — the toughest Dark body there is — and a partner skill worth up to +30% Dark damage to the whole team's Dark output. |
Selyne | A | Dark / Neutral | 115 | 130 | 130 HP, it flies, and its partner skill adds up to +30% Neutral and +30% Dark damage, which covers both halves of its own kit. |
Dualith Noct | A | Ground / Dark | 110 | 110 | 125 defence and Heavyweight as a natural passive, so it is immune to knockback. Mining Lv 6 makes it the element's best endgame quarry worker. |
Astegon | A | Dragon / Dark | 125 | 100 | 125 defence, flies, and mines at Lv 7 — the highest Mining level in the element by a full rank. A Lv 55 alpha, so it is a mid-game unlock. |
Celesdir Noct | A | Dark | 115 | 120 | The Lv 79 alpha, and the highest-level field boss in the element. Its exclusive Dark Nova hits for 700 and its partner skill is worth up to +80 ranged attack. |
If you are levelling one Dark Pal, make it Necromus. It hits for 145, it rides at 1,900 sprint with 350 stamina, and its two innate passives are worth roughly a third of its damage for free. Incineram is the early answer at the same 150 attack as the Bellanoirs for a fraction of the effort, and Frostallion Noct is the endgame one because it is the only Dark Pal that is simultaneously an S-tier body, a flying mount and a Gathering Lv 7 worker. Full fight walkthroughs for the raid bodies are in How to Beat Bellanoir and How to Beat Xenolord.
The Strongest Dark Attack Skills
Forty-five Dark moves exist and the ceiling is higher than any other element's — Toxic Dance is an 800-power move, and nothing else in Palworld goes above 700. The catch is the same one Fire has: the top of the list is all exclusives, one move to one body, so the strongest Dark skill is something you catch rather than something you shop for. The numbers below only compare Dark moves against other Dark moves, since cooldown structures differ by element.
| Skill | Power | Cooldown | Class | DPS | Who Gets It |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Toxic Dance | 800 | 30s | Shot | 26.7 | Dandilord only — the highest-power move in the game |
| Dark Ball | 50 | 2s | Shot | 25.0 | 28 Pals learn it — the fastest reliable Dark chip damage |
| Fierce Fang (Dark) | 50 | 2s | Melee | 25.0 | Kitsun Noct, Smokie and Smokie Cryst |
| Dark Root | 700 | 30s | Shot | 23.3 | Dualith Noct only — reaches 5,000 |
| Dark Nova | 700 | 30s | Shot | 23.3 | Celesdir Noct only |
| Poison Promenade | 700 | 30s | Melee | 23.3 | Dandilord only |
| Twin Spears | 700 | 30s | Melee | 23.3 | Necromus only |
| Dark Wing | 700 | 30s | Melee | 23.3 | Frostallion Noct only |
| Lethal Step | 550 | 24s | Melee | 22.9 | Starryon only |
| Dark Laser | 450 | 20s | Shot | 22.5 | 47 Pals learn it, and it is a fruit — the default heavy Dark move |
| Flame Waltz | 450 | 20s | Shot | 22.5 | Bellanoir Libero only |
| Spectral Steed | 450 | 20s | Melee | 22.5 | Starryon only |
| Lantern Flame | 650 | 30s | Shot | 21.7 | Loomen only |
| Apocalypse | 400 | 20s | Shot | 20.0 | A fruit, and the cheapest way to put real Dark damage on any body |
Dark Laser is the one that matters for team building. It is the only high-DPS Dark move you can actually distribute — 47 Pals learn it by level, it appears in 173 egg-move pools, and it sells as Dark Skill Fruit: Dark Laser, so almost anything can be made to fire it. Dark Ball is the sleeper: 50 power on a 2-second cooldown works out to 25.0 DPS, the second-highest sustained figure in the element, and 28 Pals learn it as a low-level move. The full shelf with prices is in List of Dark Skill Fruits.
11 Dark Pals That Only Spawn at Night
This is the element's real quirk and it catches people out constantly. Thirteen Pals in Palworld have no daytime spawn at all, and 11 of them are Dark. Stand on the exact coordinates at noon and the ground is empty; come back after dusk and the same spot is crowded. If a Dark Pal you are hunting seems to not exist, the odds are you are hunting it in daylight.
| Pal | Elements | Night Pins | Densest Area | Map |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Loupmoon | Dark | 1,109 | Spread thin | view on map |
Splatterina | Dark | 769 | Scarlet Outlook (12.9%) | view on map |
Lovander | Dark | 768 | Duneshelter (16.1%) | view on map |
Depresso | Dark | 406 | Eastern Wild Island (11.8%) | view on map |
Maraith | Dark | 356 | Icy Weasel Hill (15.4%) | view on map |
Needoll Noct | Dark / Grass | 325 | Duneshelter (28.6%) | view on map |
Hoocrates | Dark | 263 | Deep Bamboo Thicket (14.1%) | view on map |
Wixen Noct | Fire / Dark | 184 | Sakurajima: West Coast (27.2%) | view on map |
Daedream | Dark | 164 | Sea Breeze Coast (32.9%) | view on map |
Tombat | Dark | 160 | Islandhopper Coast (22.5%) | view on map |
Nox | Dark | 153 | Isle of Murmurs (28.8%) | view on map |
Loupmoon is the biggest of them at 1,109 pins and one of the strongest early bodies you can catch at 130 attack, while Splatterina at 769 pins is the one you will want on repeat because it drops Dark Radiant Gems at the top rate. Plenty of other Dark Pals are not night-locked but are dramatically better after dark anyway: Cawgnito goes from 264 daytime pins to 1,463 at night, Jellroy from 9 to 1,193, Leezpunk from 158 to 836, Sootseer from 10 to 649, Katress from 45 to 605 and Pyrin Noct from 10 to 411. Plan Dark farming as a night route and the same loop pays several times over.
Best Dark Base Workers
Dark does not own a job the way Fire owns Kindling, but it owns the ceiling. Six work suitabilities in Palworld top out at Lv 8, and Dark Pals hold three of them — Handiwork, Lumbering and Planting. Every one of those three is a single Pal in the entire game, and all three are Dark. Below the peak the element is broad rather than deep: 43 of the 70 transport, 37 do handiwork and 31 gather.
| Pal | Best Job | Other Jobs | Why It Works |
|---|---|---|---|
Solenne | Handiwork Lv 8 | Transporting 5, Gathering 4 | The only Handiwork Lv 8 in Palworld. Every workbench, every assembly line and every schematic craft runs faster with this one Pal, and it still hauls at Lv 5 when the bench is idle. |
Celesdir Noct | Lumbering Lv 8 | Gathering 4, Transporting 3 | The only Lumbering Lv 8 in the game, so it is the single fastest wood source you can own. It is also a Lv 79 alpha, which makes it the last one on this table you will actually get. |
Dandilord | Planting Lv 8 | Medicine Production 6, Gathering 5, Handiwork 4 | The only Planting Lv 8, and unusually it is not a one-trick farmer — Medicine Production Lv 6 means it covers your berry plots and your medicine bench with the same body. |
Lyleen Noct | Medicine Production Lv 7 | Handiwork 5, Gathering 6, Planting 5, Watering 4 | The best medicine worker in the element and one of only two Lv 7s in the game. Six separate jobs on one Pal, which is as versatile as base workers get. |
Selyne | Handiwork Lv 7 | Medicine Production 6, Gathering 4, Transporting 3 | Handiwork Lv 7 with a medicine sideline, plus 130 HP so it survives raids on your base. It flies too, so it doubles as transport between bases. |
Astegon | Mining Lv 7 | Transporting 3 | Mining Lv 7 is the highest in the element and its partner skill raises your own mining efficiency and gathering yield on top. Nothing else to distract it from the ore node. |
Dualith Noct | Mining Lv 6 | Transporting 6, Lumbering 5, Handiwork 4, Gathering 4 | Five jobs at Lv 4 or better, which is the widest spread of any Dark Pal. Mining Lv 6 and Transporting Lv 6 in one body means it digs the ore and then carries it to the chest. |
Splatterina | Handiwork Lv 6 | Medicine Production 5, Gathering 3, Transporting 2 | Handiwork Lv 6 from a Pal with 769 wild pins — by far the easiest high-level bench worker to get hold of, and it makes medicine as well. |
Venusa | Handiwork Lv 6 | Gathering 6, Medicine Production 5, Planting 4 | Handiwork Lv 6 and Gathering Lv 6 at once, which is rare. Good pick if you want one Pal covering the bench and the berry plots on a small base. |
Frostallion Noct | Gathering Lv 7 | Transporting 3 | The best gatherer in the element, on the same body that is S-tier in combat and a flying mount. If you only have one legendary, it is doing three jobs. |
For a first base Splatterina is the pick — Handiwork Lv 6 on a Pal with 769 wild pins beats waiting for an alpha, and it makes medicine on the side. From the mid-game on, Dualith Noct is the best value per Pal slot because five jobs at Lv 4 or better means it never stands idle, and Solenne is the one worth a Condenser run since no other Pal in the game matches its Handiwork. Full cross-element rankings are in Best Pals for Handiwork and Best Pals for Medicine Production, and you can slot them automatically with the Palworld Work Optimizer.
Medicine Production Is Dark's Real Speciality
Forty-three Pals in Palworld can work a medicine bench and 22 of them are Dark — over half the roster for that job, more than double the next element's share. If your base cannot keep up with fever and food-poisoning cures, the fix is almost certainly a Dark Pal. The table below is the top of that pool.
| Pal | Medicine Production | Elements | Spawns |
|---|---|---|---|
Lyleen Noct | Lv 7 | Dark | 42 pins — view on map |
Bellanoir Libero | Lv 7 | Dark | Raid altar only |
Wistella | Lv 6 | Dark | 40 pins — view on map |
Selyne | Lv 6 | Dark / Neutral | 40 pins — view on map |
Dandilord | Lv 6 | Grass / Dark | No wild spawns |
Venusa | Lv 5 | Dark | 26 pins — view on map |
Splatterina | Lv 5 | Dark | 769 pins — view on map |
Bellanoir | Lv 4 | Dark | Raid altar only |
Bakemi | Lv 4 | Dark | 115 pins — view on map |
Felbat | Lv 3 | Dark | 121 pins — view on map |
Splatterina is the realistic answer for most bases: Lv 5 medicine is enough to keep a medicine rack stocked, and it is the only Pal on this table with spawns in the hundreds. Lyleen Noct is the ceiling and it is a Lv 58 alpha, so it is a planned trip rather than a lucky catch. Felbat is worth a mention for a different reason — it is catchable early, it makes medicine, and its partner skill gives you and your active Pal lifesteal. What to actually build with all this is covered in How to Get the Medicine Rack and How to Get the Advanced Medicine Workbench.
Best Dark Mounts
Twenty-two of the game's 115 rideable Pals are Dark, the joint-largest mount pool of any element, and the top three are all worth owning for different reasons. Eidrolon is the speed pick at 2,750 sprint, which ranks 4th overall. Below it the element leans on endurance rather than pace — three Dark mounts carry 300 stamina or more, which is where the long-haul flying comes from. Sprint figures compare between mounts only, and flying and ground types are not interchangeable.
| Pal | Overall Mount Rank | Mount Type | Sprint | Stamina | Saddle Tech |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Eidrolon | 4 | Flying | 2,750 | 130 | Lv 68 |
Necromus | 8 | Ground | 1,900 | 350 | Lv 61 |
Frostallion Noct | 10 | Flying | 1,800 | 300 | Lv 62 |
Selyne | 13 | Flying | 1,600 | 300 | Lv 53 |
Ghangler | 18 | Water | 1,350 | 320 | Lv 31 |
Roujay | 20 | Flying | 1,350 | 200 | Lv 72 |
Pyrin Noct | 22 | Ground | 1,300 | 100 | Lv 34 |
Starryon | 28 | Ground | 1,250 | 230 | Lv 57 |
Blazehowl Noct | 35 | Ground | 1,200 | 150 | Lv 35 |
Celesdir Noct | 37 | Ground | 1,200 | 260 | Lv 78 |
Shadowbeak | 39 | Flying | 1,200 | 250 | Lv 47 |

Dualith Noct | 103 | Ground | 800 | 210 | Lv 69 |
Xenolord | 111 | Flying | 660 | 300 | Lv 66 |
Helzephyr is the one to unlock first: a Lv 25 saddle, it flies, and 1,099 wild pins make it the cheapest way to get airborne on a Dark body. Necromus's 350 stamina is the highest of any Dark mount and the second-highest sprint, which makes it the best ground travel in the element outright. Tarantriss deserves a note for the opposite reason — a Lv 20 saddle for 1,000 sprint is the best early rate here, and it is a Lv 35 alpha you can reach long before the good flyers. Skip Xenolord as transport; a Lv 66 saddle for 660 sprint is the worst rate in the element, and you catch it for the fight, not the ride. Cross-element comparisons are in Best Flying Mounts.
Where to Find Dark Pals
Dark is the most evenly spread element in the game, which is the flip side of having 70 members — there is no single Dark region the way Mount Obsidian is the Fire region. Duneshelter and the surrounding desert hold the heaviest concentration, with Scarlet Outlook second, and between them they anchor most of the element's high-value spawns. Every row below deep-links our Palworld interactive map with that Pal's spawn layer already switched on.

Bushi Noct | Spread across the map | — | 1,990 | view on map |

Vanwyrm | Crimson Cliffs | 15.4% | 545 | view on map |
Blazehowl Noct | Mount Obsidian Trail | 13.9% | 517 | view on map |
Bushi Noct, Omascul and Smokie top the pin count but have no single dominant region, so treat them as background noise rather than a destination. The tight spawns are the useful ones: Incineram Noct puts 90% of its pins on the Isle of Silence, Smokie Cryst is 100% Glacial Memento Islet, Shadowbeak is 90.9% Deep Sand Dunes, and Helzephyr Lux concentrates 62.5% of its spawns on the Sakurajima northern rock field. If you would rather farm indoors, Feybreak Cavern, Cherry Blossom Cave and Mountain Stream Grotto all run heavy on Dark enemies and cave bosses — see the Mountain Stream Grotto guide for one worked example.
All 19 Dark Alpha Markers
Nineteen Dark Pals stand as fixed alpha field bosses, the second-most of any element behind Ground's 20, and they ladder from Lv 23 all the way to Lv 79. That spread is genuinely useful: whatever level you are, there is a Dark alpha near your bracket to farm. Alphas respawn, drop more than wild copies, and start well above the level of anything you can catch in the field.
| Alpha | Level | Elements | Attack | Defence | Location |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Celesdir Noct | Lv. 79 | Dark | 115 | 100 | Alpha location |
Dualith Noct | Lv. 70 | Ground / Dark | 110 | 125 | Alpha location |
Eidrolon | Lv. 69 | Dragon / Dark | 125 | 120 | Alpha location |
Wistella | Lv. 66 | Dark | 100 | 60 | Alpha location |
Splatterina | Lv. 65 | Dark | 115 | 105 | Alpha location |
Kitsun Noct | Lv. 65 | Dark | 115 | 105 | Alpha location |
Frostallion Noct | Lv. 65 | Dark | 140 | 135 | Alpha location |

Dazzi Noct | Lv. 60 | Dark / Electric | 110 | 75 | Alpha location |
Nyafia | Lv. 60 | Dark | 100 | 100 | Alpha location |
Nitemary | Lv. 60 | Dark | 100 | 105 | Alpha location |
Smokie | Lv. 60 | Dark | 100 | 85 | Alpha location |
Lyleen Noct | Lv. 58 | Dark | 120 | 115 | Alpha location |
Astegon | Lv. 55 | Dragon / Dark | 125 | 125 | Alpha location |
Menasting | Lv. 44 | Dark / Ground | 100 | 130 | Alpha location |
Tarantriss | Lv. 35 | Dark | 100 | 100 | Alpha location |
Caprity Noct | Lv. 23 | Dark | 75 | 90 | Alpha location |
Caprity Noct at Lv 23 is the entry point and an easy first alpha kill. Menasting at Lv 44 is the one worth a detour — 130 defence, Mining Lv 5, and it is a breeding parent for Lyleen Noct. Frostallion Noct at Lv 65 is the prize: a legendary alpha that is also the best all-round Dark body in the game. Celesdir Noct at Lv 79 is the highest-level Dark alpha and the only way to get a Lumbering Lv 8 worker at all. Full cross-element ordering is in the Alpha Pal Hunting Route.
Dark Eggs and Breeding
Dark Pals hatch from Dark Egg and its Large and Huge sizes, and the Dark nest pool is the widest in the game at 43 different Pals — mostly because Feybreak's nests are stuffed with Noct variants. That width cuts both ways: a Dark hatch is close to guaranteed if you run the right islands, but hitting one specific Dark Pal from an egg is a long shot. Breeding is the precise route, and 17 Dark Pals exist only as a specific pairing, including the element's single best body.
| Parent A | Parent B | Child | Child Element |
|---|---|---|---|
Frostallion | Helzephyr | Frostallion Noct | Dark |
Lyleen | Menasting | Lyleen Noct | Dark |
Incineram | Maraith | Incineram Noct | Dark |
Celesdir | Kitsun Noct | Celesdir Noct | Dark |
Dualith | Sootseer | Dualith Noct | Ground / Dark |
Blazehowl | Felbat | Blazehowl Noct | Fire / Dark |
Pyrin | Katress | Pyrin Noct | Fire / Dark |
Helzephyr | Beakon | Helzephyr Lux | Dark / Electric |
Bushi | Sootseer | Bushi Noct | Fire / Dark |
Katress | Wixen | Wixen Noct | Fire / Dark |
Katress | Wixen | Katress Ignis | Dark / Fire |
Kitsun | Nyafia | Kitsun Noct | Dark |
Vanwyrm | Foxcicle | Vanwyrm Cryst | Ice / Dark |
Smokie | Munchill | Smokie Cryst | Dark / Ice |
Dazzi | Omascul | Dazzi Noct | Dark / Electric |
Caprity | Tarantriss | Caprity Noct | Dark |
Croajiro | Bushi Noct | Croajiro Noct | Water / Dark |
Needoll | Prunelia | Needoll Noct | Dark / Grass |
Two of these are worth doing the moment you can. Frostallion + Helzephyr is the only route to Frostallion Noct, an S-tier body with two free passives and a flying saddle, and you do not need to own any Dark legendary first. Lyleen + Menasting produces Lyleen Noct, which is the best medicine worker in the element and a Lv 58 alpha you would otherwise have to hunt. Note the oddity in row ten: Katress + Wixen can produce two different children, Wixen Noct or Katress Ignis, and it is the only way to get Katress Ignis without clearing Cherry Blossom Cave. Every Noct and Cryst variant also breeds true — pair two of the same variant and you get that variant back. Parent selection and inheritance are covered in How Breeding Works, and you can search pairings directly in the Palworld Breeding Calculator.
How to Farm Dark Radiant Gems
Dark Radiant Gem is what unlocks awakening on your Dark Pals, and seven Pals drop it at 10 to 20 per kill on a guaranteed 100% roll. That is the tier worth farming — a separate group drops only 1 to 3, so the table below is filtered to the good sources. Sort by pin count and the route picks itself.
| Pal | Gems per Kill | Rate | Spawn Pins | Best Area | Map |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Helzephyr | 10-20 | 100% | 1,099 | Scarlet Outlook | view on map |
Splatterina | 10-20 | 100% | 769 | Scarlet Outlook | view on map |
Starryon | 10-20 | 100% | 178 | Loess Plains | view on map |
Helzephyr Lux | 10-20 | 100% | 80 | Sakurajima - Northern Rock Field | view on map |
Lyleen Noct | 10-20 | 100% | 42 | Alpha marker (Lv 58) | view on map |
Selyne | 10-20 | 100% | 40 | No named hotspot | view on map |
Shadowbeak | 10-20 | 100% | 11 | Deep Sand Dunes | view on map |
Helzephyr is the farm and it is not close — 1,099 pins, the full 10-20 every kill, and its densest patch is Scarlet Outlook, which is exactly where Splatterina also lives at 769 pins. One night loop over that ridge hits both of the element's best gem sources back to back. Remember that Splatterina is night-locked, so run it after dusk or you will only find the Helzephyrs. Shadowbeak drops the same amount but at 11 pins it is a boss kill rather than a farm. All nine elements are covered in How to Farm Radiant Gems.
Gear and Passives That Boost Dark Damage
Dark has the full accessory line, and one detail is worth knowing before you craft: the Dark ring protects against Neutral, the element Dark already beats, while nothing in the Dark line reduces incoming Dragon damage — the only thing that actually threatens a Dark Pal. Everything below goes on the Pal fighting beside you unless the row says otherwise.
| Item | Slot | Effect | Materials |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pal accessory | Raises the Pal's attack and significantly increases its Dark damage | Refined Ingot ×20, Horn ×30, Pure Quartz ×15, Ancient Civilization Core ×5 | |
| Pal accessory | Raises the Pal's defence and significantly increases its Dark damage | Refined Ingot ×20, Beautiful Flower ×5, Venom Gland ×10, Ancient Civilization Parts ×10 | |
| Pal accessory | Significantly increases Dark damage and greatly reduces incoming Neutral damage | Refined Ingot ×20, Leather ×20, Katress Hair ×10, Ancient Civilization Parts ×5 | |
Dark Support Whistle | Pal accessory | Slightly raises the Dark damage of the Pal fighting alongside you | Ingot ×20, Horn ×20, Venom Gland ×10, Ancient Civilization Parts ×2 |
| Pal accessory | Greatly reduces incoming Dragon damage — the one defensive ring a Dark Pal actually wants | Crafted from the schematic at the Production Assembly Line | |
Ring of Dark Resistance | Player accessory | Reduces incoming Dark damage — for you, when you are fighting Dark Pals | Ingot ×20, Bone ×20, Venom Gland ×10, Paldium Fragment ×30 |
Lord of the Underworld's Baton is the one to build, since the flat attack bonus and the element bonus stack in a single slot. Then there are the passives you do not have to craft at all: four Dark Pals are born with a Dark damage passive. Necromus and Frostallion Noct roll Lord of the Underworld for +30% Dark, Bellanoir Libero rolls Siren of the Void for +30% Dark and +30% Ice at once, and Xenolord rolls Invader for +30% Dark and +30% Dragon. If Dragon damage is what keeps killing your Dark team, the answer is Cryolinx Ring or Ring of Dragon Resistance, not anything in the Dark line.
Summary
Seventy Pals carry Dark, making it the largest element in Palworld, and its defensive profile is the best in the game — Dragon is the only thing that beats it, and Dragon is the thinnest roster there is. It counters Neutral, its 110.1 average attack is third-highest of the nine, it holds 11 of the 43 top-tier slots on our tier list, and it owns three of the six Lv 8 work ceilings. Necromus is the best fighter you can plan for, Frostallion Noct is the best all-round body, Eidrolon is the fastest ride, Solenne is the only Handiwork Lv 8 in the game, and Helzephyr is the gem farm. Just remember to do most of it after sundown — 11 of these Pals do not exist in daylight.
