List of Ground Skill Fruits: Stats and How to Get Them — Palworld Database

Palworld has 8 Ground Skill Fruits, and one of them is the strangest fruit in the game — the only Ground skill that swings instead of shoots. This guide covers all 8 with power, cooldown and damage per second, the Battle Ticket and Gold prices, the chest odds region by region, and which of these moves your Pals were going to learn on their own anyway.

All 8 Ground Skill Fruits

There are 93 Skill Fruits in Palworld and only 8 are Ground, which puts the element near the bottom on volume — Electric has 14, Water and Dark have 12 each. What Ground lacks in size it makes up for in quality: 4 of its 8 fruits are Rare, the highest share of any element, and it has exactly one Uncommon fruit in the whole pool. That top-heavy shape matters everywhere below, from what the Arena Shop stocks to what your orchard spits out. Rocky Impact at 600 power is the element's ceiling and ties with Fire Ball, Thunderstorm and Dragon Meteor for the second-strongest single cast any fruit teaches. The bottom three are filler — Bog Blast alone is a starting move on 31 Pals.

Skill FruitPowerCooldownDamage/secRarityWhy bring it
Rocky Impact60030s20.0RareThe hardest hit in the element and the only one that scales off Melee Attack
Sand Twister50024s20.8RareBest sustained damage of the eight — tornadoes that keep spinning after they land
Rock Lance40020s20.0RareErupts under the target with almost no minimum range and full 5,000 reach
Rockburst30016s18.8RareThe cheap Rare on the ticket board, but it only reaches 1,200
Sand Tornado20012s16.7UncommonThe only Uncommon Ground fruit and the worst damage per second here
Stone Cannon1208s15.0CommonThe one Ground skill that can Stun, and it costs 1,000 Gold
Stone Blast804s20.0CommonSpread of stones on a 4-second timer — 40 Pals learn it without a fruit
Bog Blast402s20.0CommonFastest chip damage in the element with 5,000 reach, and almost free to obtain

One inventory quirk to watch: all 8 share the same brown fruit art, so on the ground or in a full chest haul they are impossible to tell apart without reading the tooltip. The names help — every one of them starts with "Ground Skill Fruit:" — but if you are trying to work out which fruit teaches what before you feed one to something, the sortable Palworld Skill Fruit database matches every fruit to its move.

Rocky Impact Is the Only Melee Fruit Skill

This is the single most important thing on the page and almost nobody checks it. Of the 90 skills taught by Skill Fruits, exactly two are Melee class: Rocky Impact and Water's Geyser Gush. Every other fruit in the game — all 88 of them — teaches a Shot skill. That means Rocky Impact scales off the Pal's Melee Attack and completely ignores its Shot Attack, so feeding it to a glass-cannon shooter wastes the best fruit in the element. The flip side is that Ground is the only element where you have a real use for a high Melee Attack bruiser. The other seven Ground fruits are all Shot class and want the opposite carrier. Plan the pair before you spend tickets: Rocky Impact on your melee Pal, Sand Twister on your shooter.

Range, Class and What Each Skill Actually Does

Range is what separates the good Ground fruits from the awkward ones. Rockburst is the trap here — it is a Rare 300-power skill that caps out at 1,200 range, which is closer than most bosses let you stand, so a Pal carrying it spends the fight walking into melee to fire a ranged move. Compare that with Rock Lance at 100–5,000: same Rare tier, double the power, and it fires from anywhere. Bog Blast quietly has the widest window of the eight at 500–5,000, which is why it stays useful as filler long after its 40 power stops mattering. Every Ground skill also applies Muddy, the element's slow-down ailment, and the amount varies a lot. The four Rares plus Stone Blast stack it at full strength; Stone Cannon applies the least of any Ground move but is the only one in the element that can also Stun. That Stun is genuinely rare crowd control — the full ailment breakdown is in the Palworld status effects guide.

SkillClassRangeMuddyWhat it actually does
Rocky ImpactMelee0–5,000100Shakes the ground and drops a boulder — no minimum range, full reach
Sand TwisterShot0–5,000100Several sand tornadoes that keep spinning in place after they land
Rock LanceShot100–5,000100A rock spear erupts directly under the enemy; fires at practically any distance
RockburstShot0–1,200100Hurls a stone mass around the caster — the shortest reach in the element
Sand TornadoShot100–3,00065Spawns two tornadoes and launches them forward
Stone CannonShot500–2,50035Digs up a boulder and throws it; the only Ground skill that can Stun
Stone BlastShot500–4,000100Fires a barrage of stones forward in a spread
Bog BlastShot500–5,00050Sticky mud at long range on a 2-second timer

Element matchups are simple for Ground and worth planning around. Ground attacks hit Electric Pals hard and nothing else, so a Ground fruit is at its best pointed at Grizzbolt, Orserk and the rest of the Electric roster. Going the other way, Grass is the only element that beats Ground, so a Ground-typed Pal carrying these skills takes extra damage from Grass attackers. That narrow window is why most players run one Ground fruit as a situational answer rather than building a whole team around it — the Palworld element chart has the full grid.

Which Ground Fruits Are Actually Worth Buying

This is the section that saves you Battle Tickets. Ground moves are heavily concentrated in Ground-typed Pals, and most of those Pals learn the whole set by leveling anyway — Cryolinx Terra alone picks up six of the eight without a single fruit, ending with Rocky Impact at 50. If your carrier is already a Ground Pal, check its level-up list before you spend anything. The fruit earns its price in two situations. The first is timing: Rocky Impact is a level-70 move for 28 of the 40 Pals that get it, so the fruit is not buying you a move you cannot have, it is buying it 60-odd levels early — exactly when a 600-power hit is worth the most. The second is Pals that never learn it at all, which is where Sand Twister stands out: only 15 Pals in the entire game learn it by leveling, the shortest list of any Rare Ground move. Rock Lance is the special case — no shop anywhere sells it and it cannot be inherited through breeding, so chests are the only route.

Skill FruitPals that learn it by levelingUsual levelInheritable egg moveWorth the fruit?

Rock Lance3140 or 50 for 25 of themNoneYes — no shop sells it and no egg passes it down

Sand Tornado2922 for 11 of them81 PalsNo — 3,000 Gold for a move that turns up on its own
Stone Cannon3015–22 for 22 of themNoneOnly for the Stun, and only on a Pal that never learns it
Stone Blast4015 for 17 of themNoneNo — it arrives well before you would ever buy it
Bog Blast561 for 31 of themNoneNo — more Pals learn this than any other Ground move

The breeding column splits the element cleanly in half. Rocky Impact, Sand Twister, Rockburst and Sand Tornado all sit in large inheritable pools — Sand Twister in 121 Pals, Rockburst in 110 — so if you are already running egg cycles for passives they show up as a side effect. Details are in the Palworld breeding calculator. The other four cannot be inherited at all, and for Rock Lance that is the whole story: fruit or level-up, nothing else.

TipMatch the fruit to the stat. Rocky Impact is Melee class, so it belongs on Incineram Noct, Jormuntide Ignis or Blazamut Ryu — all 150 Melee Attack and none of them learn it at any level. Feeding it to Bellanoir wastes it entirely: 150 Shot Attack, 100 Melee. Bellanoir wants Sand Twister instead.

How to Get Ground Skill Fruits

Six routes exist and they do not overlap evenly. The headline: Rocky Impact does not drop from chests, fishing spots, oil rig crates or field loot anywhere in the game. It has exactly two sources — the Arena Shop for 45 Battle Tickets, or recycling Ancient Relics at odds thin enough to ignore. Everything else in the element is farmable, and the split runs by region: Grasslands and Forest chests hold the three cheap fruits, the mid regions swap in Rock Lance, and the late regions bring Sand Twister and Rockburst.

Arena Shop — Battle Tickets

Three Ground fruits sit permanently in the Arena Shop and this is the only guaranteed way to get any of them. Rocky Impact at 45 tickets is the priciest Ground fruit on the board and the only reliable route to a 600-power skill, so it is the one to save for. Sand Twister at 30 is arguably the better value — same ticket price as Rockburst, but 500 power against 300 and a 5,000 range against 1,200. There is very little reason to buy Rockburst at all unless you already own the other two. Stock does not rotate, so tickets keep their value while you grind.

Rocky Impact4560030s0–5,000
Sand Twister3050024s0–5,000
Rockburst3030016s0–1,200

Battle Tickets come from arena rounds — which round pays what is listed on the Palworld arena guide, and the rest of the ticket stock is on the Palworld merchant database.

Desert Shop — Gold

Two Ground fruits are buyable with plain Gold, and both come from the Desert Shop rather than the wandering traders you meet on the road. Stone Cannon at 1,000 Gold is the pick here — not for its damage, which is poor, but because it is the only Ground skill in the game that can Stun, and 30 Pals learning it naturally still leaves most of the roster without it. Sand Tornado at 3,000 Gold is harder to justify when 29 Pals pick it up by level 22–30 on their own. Neither price is meaningful money by mid-game — the best Gold farming methods cover both in a single run. No merchant anywhere sells Rocky Impact, Sand Twister, Rock Lance, Rockburst, Stone Blast or Bog Blast for Gold.

Region Chests and Fishing Spots

Ordinary treasure chests are the bulk route, and which Ground fruits you can pull depends entirely on where the chest sits. Sand Tornado is the one constant — it is in every region's pool from Grasslands to Feybreak. Rock Lance only appears in the Desert, Mount Obsidian, Snowfields and Yakushima, which makes those four the only places in the game you can farm it. Snowfields has the best per-chest odds anywhere at 1.64% with 178 chests pinned, so it is the correct deliberate farm for Rock Lance. If you are after Sand Twister or Rockburst instead, Feybreak wins on volume with 201 chests at 1.49%. Fishing spots pull from close to the same regional pools at slightly lower rates, and 367 spots are pinned across the main map, so it is free progress while working through the Palworld fishing guide.

Feybreak201Same four as Sakurajima1.49%
Sunreach Isle76Same four as Sakurajima1.49%

Ground fruits also turn up as plain field loot, but only just. Sand Tornado sits between 0.03% and 0.04% in the Desert, Mount Obsidian and Snowfields, and Sand Twister, Rockburst and Stone Blast each sit at 0.03% around Sakurajima. Those numbers are far too thin to farm on purpose — they only explain the occasional free fruit lying on the ground.

Oil Rig Crates

For the three cheap fruits, oil rig crates are simply the best odds in the game: 2.56% per crate for Bog Blast, Stone Cannon and Sand Tornado each, which is more than four times a Grasslands chest. There are 56 crates on the oil rig crate map layer and they respawn, so rigs are the only genuinely repeatable Ground farm once you can handle the guards. The catch is that no Rare fruit is in the crate pool at all — this route caps out at Sand Tornado, which is also the one Ground fruit you can just buy.

Skill Fruit Trees and Caverns

Skill Fruit Trees hand you a fruit with no fight attached — 35 are pinned on the main map plus 12 more in the World Tree, all on the Skill Fruit tree map layer. You do not get to choose the element, so treat trees as something you run past rather than a Ground farm. Caverns work the same way: 6 of the 10 cavern types spawn skill fruit pickups, and the thematic pick is the Cavern of the Dunes out in the desert, with Hillside Cavern and Volcanic Cavern also on the list. Full contents for each are on the Palworld dungeon database.

Recycling Ancient Relics

Every grade of Ancient Relic can break down into Rocky Impact, Sand Twister, Rock Lance or Rockburst — neatly, the four Rares, and none of the cheap fruits. Be honest about the rate though: even Glistening relics, the best of the five grades, sit at roughly 0.02% per relic for any one fruit, which is about one in four thousand. Treat it as a bonus you notice while farming relics for something else, never as a Rocky Impact plan. The setup is covered in the Ancient Relic Recycler guide.

Duplicating Ground Fruits at the Skillfruit Orchard

The Skillfruit Orchard lets you plant a fruit and harvest more of the same element, and Ground has the most predictable payout table in the game because of its lopsided rarity split. With only one Uncommon fruit in the element, the 7% Uncommon roll on a Ground planting is a guaranteed Sand Tornado — no other element has a roll that resolves to a single fixed result. The 3% Rare roll splits four ways between Rocky Impact, Sand Twister, Rock Lance and Rockburst, and since Rocky Impact has no chest source anywhere, an orchard running Ground fruits is the only way to get more of it without spending tickets. Be realistic about throughput: 60% of cycles return nothing at all, so this is a slow trickle, not a factory.

Harvest resultChanceWhat that means for Ground

Uncommon fruit, same element7%Always Sand Tornado — it is the element's only Uncommon

Getting one built is the real gate. The Orchard unlocks at technology level 71 for 3 Technology Points and needs a Watering Pal assigned to run it. The full build cost is 200 Mythical Wood, 500 Paldium Fragment and 150 Soralite — the Soralite is the awkward part, since it only comes from the sky islands.

Best Pals to Put Ground Skills On

Ground is the only element where you pick the carrier by two different stats, because Rocky Impact is Melee and the other seven are Shot. Any Pal can eat any fruit regardless of its own element, so look at the top of the whole roster rather than the 44 Ground Pals — and specifically at Pals with a big attack stat that do not already learn the move, because then the fruit adds a skill instead of duplicating one. For Rocky Impact, four Pals tie at 150 Melee Attack with no Ground moves in their level-up lists at all: Incineram Noct, Jormuntide Ignis, Blazamut Ryu and Incineram. Those are the cleanest possible targets. Blazamut matches them at 150 Melee but learns Rocky Impact at 70 on its own, so the fruit there is a timing purchase rather than a new skill. For the Shot fruits, Bellanoir and its Libero form lead at 150 Shot Attack with zero Ground moves between them — Sand Twister on Bellanoir is the strongest Ground skill you can build without touching Melee. Neptilius at 145 is in the same clean position. Skip Astralym for Rocky Impact despite its 200 Shot Attack: it learns the move at level 5 anyway, and with 100 Melee Attack it is the wrong body for it regardless. Among Ground natives, Anubis is the best all-rounder at 130 in both stats, but it also learns Rocky Impact, Sand Twister and Rock Lance by leveling — save your fruits there.

One caveat on those numbers: Melee Attack and Shot Attack are separate scales and a Melee skill never touches the Shot stat, so the 150 Melee Pals above are not "better" than Bellanoir — they are better at Rocky Impact specifically. Build the pair rather than picking one. Full stat lines for every Pal are on the Palworld best Pals list, and the Palworld active skills database sorts all 300 moves by power, cooldown and ailment if you want to compare Ground against the rest.
