Best Pals for Medicine Production: Ranks and Spawns
Every Medicine Production Pal ranked by work suitability — who holds the Lv. 8 ceiling, the 11 Pals at Lv. 5 or better, spawn counts for the ones you can actually catch, and the bench setup that brews faster.

Medicine Production is the job that keeps your base standing — it staffs the medicine benches that brew Low Grade Medical Supplies and Revival Potions, and it staffs the Clinic that stops your workers getting sick in the first place. It is also one of the narrowest jobs in the game: only 43 of Palworld's 288 Pals have it at all. This guide ranks every one of them, tells you which ones you can realistically catch, and covers the bench setup and passives that make the crew brew faster.
Medicine Production at a Glance
Compared to the other base jobs this one is thin. Transporting is open to 140 Pals and Handiwork to 109; Medicine Production sits at 43, ahead of only Farming (29) and Generating Electricity (25). It is also lopsided by element — 22 of the 43 are Dark and 17 are Grass, so a medicine base tends to be a night crew of witches, flowers and ghosts. The practical consequence is that you will not stumble into a good one by accident the way you do with a Lumbering or Transporting Pal, and the gap between the top of the list and the middle is huge.
| What | Detail |
|---|---|
| Pals with the job | 43 of 288 |
| Base rank ceiling | Lv. 8 — held by Silvance alone |
| Pals at Lv. 5 or better | 11 |
| Pals at Lv. 1-2 | 14 — filler only |
| Element split | Dark 22 · Grass 17 · Fire 5 · Ground 4 · Neutral 3 · Electric 2 · Ice 2 · Water 1 |
| Structures that need it | 5 — three medicine workbenches plus the Clinic and Ancient Clinic |
| First bench you unlock | Medieval Medicine Workbench at technology Lv. 12 |
| Minimum rank to work a bench | Lv. 1 — every bench and both clinics only ask for Lv. 1 |
| Speed structure | Witch Cauldron at Lv. 32 — raises medicine crafting speed base-wide |
| Raising it past base | Applied Medicine Production Handbook I, +1 permanently |
That "minimum rank Lv. 1" line is the trap. Every medicine structure switches on with any Medicine Production Pal, so an early Lifmunk will happily man the bench and it will look like the job is solved. It is not — rank decides how fast the workload burns down, and the endgame recipes run into the millions, so a Lv. 1 body on an Advanced Medicine Workbench is a queue that never clears.
Best Medicine Production Pals in Palworld
Eleven Pals reach Lv. 5 or better, and the honest ranking is not the same as the rank order. Silvance is the only Lv. 8 in the game and nothing brews faster, but it has no wild spawns and you have to beat it in the World Tree before you can breed it. Below that, the two Lv. 7s split cleanly: Lyleen Noct is catchable, Bellanoir Libero is a raid boss. For most players the actual answer is the Lv. 6 row, and specifically Wistella, which is common, cheap to feed and available long before the rest.
| Pal | Medicine | Other jobs it does | Food | How to get it |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Silvance | Lv. 8 | Planting 6, Handiwork 6, Gathering 4, Transporting 2 | 9 | No wild spawns — beat it in the World Tree, then breed Silvance × Silvance |
Lyleen Noct | Lv. 7 | Gathering 6, Handiwork 5 | 8 | 42 spawn points · alpha at Lv. 58 · breeds from Lyleen × Menasting |
Bellanoir Libero | Lv. 7 | Handiwork 6, Transporting 4 | 7 | Summoned raid boss — Lv. 45, with a Lv. 80 second tier |
Mycora | Lv. 6 | Planting 6, Handiwork 4, Gathering 4 | 7 | 42 spawn points · alpha at Lv. 78 |
Wistella | Lv. 6 | Handiwork 6, Transporting 1 | 5 | 40 spawn points at night · alpha at Lv. 66 |
Selyne | Lv. 6 | Handiwork 7, Transporting 3 | 9 | 40 spawn points at night · breeds only Selyne × Selyne |
Dandilord | Lv. 6 | Planting 8, Handiwork 6, Gathering 5, Transporting 3 | 9 | No wild spawns — World Tree boss, then breed Dandilord × Dandilord |
Splatterina | Lv. 5 | Handiwork 6, Lumbering 3, Transporting 2 | 7 | 769 spawn points, night only · alpha at Lv. 65 |
Venusa | Lv. 5 | Handiwork 6, Gathering 6, Transporting 2 | 6 | 26 spawn points at night |
Lyleen | Lv. 5 | Planting 7, Gathering 6, Handiwork 5 | 8 | 42 spawn points · alpha at Lv. 58 |
Bellanoir | Lv. 5 | Handiwork 5, Transporting 4 | 7 | Summoned raid boss — Lv. 35 |
Read the Food column before you commit. Silvance, Selyne and Dandilord all eat 9, which is near the top of the scale, and three of them in one base will chew through a berry plantation faster than it produces. Wistella eats 5 for the same Lv. 6 rank, which is why it ends up in more bases than the Pals ranked above it.
Silvance — the Only Lv. 8 in the Game
Silvance is the ceiling of this job by itself, and it is not close — the next best base rank is 7. It is a Grass Pal with 140 HP and 120 Ranged Attack, so it fights well enough to be worth levelling, and outside the medicine bench it covers Planting 6, Handiwork 6 and Gathering 4, which means it is never idle. It also drops a guaranteed Ancient Civilization Core and 5-10 Explosion-Resistant Fiber as an alpha, so the same Pal that staffs your bench is a farm for two of the hardest endgame materials.
The catch is availability. Silvance has zero wild spawn points — it lives in the World Tree, where you fight it as a boss, and the only breeding combo that produces one is Silvance × Silvance. So it is a two-step: beat the World Tree fight to get your first, then run a pair through the Palworld breeding calculator to make spares. Nobody has this before the endgame, which is why the rest of this list matters.
Lyleen Noct — the Best Lv. 7 You Can Catch
Lyleen Noct is the realistic top pick. It is a rarity-10 Dark Pal with 42 spawn points on the map plus a level 58 alpha, and unlike Silvance it has a real breeding route: Lyleen × Menasting produces one, so a single catch of either parent line turns into a repeatable supply. Medicine Production 7 with Gathering 6 and Handiwork 5 alongside makes it one of the best three-job bodies in the game, and its partner skill heals your team while it is out with you.
It eats 8, which is the price of admission at this tier. If you are running one Lyleen Noct on the bench and nothing else expensive, a standard berry plantation keeps up; two of them plus a Selyne will not.
Bellanoir and Bellanoir Libero — Trophy Workers
Both Bellanoir forms are raid bosses summoned at an altar rather than anything you find on the map. Bellanoir is the Lv. 35 fight and gives Medicine Production 5; Bellanoir Libero is the Lv. 45 fight, has a second tier at Lv. 80, and gives Medicine Production 7 with Handiwork 6 behind it. They are excellent workers, but treat them as a reward for clearing Palworld raid bosses rather than as a plan for staffing a bench — you are beating a raid for the Pal, not for the job.
Wistella — the Lv. 6 Almost Everyone Should Use
Wistella is the value pick of the whole list. Medicine Production 6 puts it one rank under the best catchable Pal in the game, it has 40 spawn points, an alpha at level 66, and it is a rarity-2 Pal, which means it is cheap to catch and cheap to breed. Best of all it eats 5 — the lowest food cost of anything at Lv. 5 or better — so you can run two of them for less upkeep than one Silvance. It only appears at night, so plan the trip after dark.
It doubles as a Handiwork 6 body, which is the single most useful second job in the game, and wild ones drop 3-5 Small Pal Souls each, so the farming trip pays for itself in Pal condensing material.
Mycora, Selyne, and Dandilord — the Other Lv. 6s
Mycora matches Wistella's rank with Planting 6 attached, which makes it the pick if the same base runs a plantation; its 42 spawn points are easy, though its alpha is a level 78 fight. Selyne is the one to grab if you care about the second job more than the first — Handiwork 7 is one rank off the game's ceiling, and Medicine Production 6 comes free with it — but it breeds only from Selyne × Selyne and eats 9. Dandilord is Silvance's World Tree sibling: no wild spawns, Planting 8 (the highest in the game), Handiwork 6 and Medicine Production 6 on one body. That much overlap is a problem rather than a bonus, because a Pal can only work one station at a time and Dandilord will drift to whichever job the base queues first.
Best Early and Mid-Game Medicine Pals
Before the endgame you are picking from ranks 2 to 5, and here availability beats raw rank outright. Splatterina is the standout by a mile: Lv. 5 Medicine Production and Handiwork 6 on a Pal with 769 spawn points, more than any other Pal in this job. It is night-only, but one evening trip solves the job for the rest of the run. After that, Katress (605 points) and Lovander (768 points) are the ones you will trip over without looking, and Icelyn is worth a mention for pairing Medicine Production 4 with Cooling 5, which covers the cooler your egg base needs anyway.
| Pal | Medicine | Other jobs it does | Food | Spawn points |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Splatterina | Lv. 5 | Handiwork 6, Lumbering 3, Transporting 2 | 7 | 769 · night only |
Elizabee | Lv. 4 | Planting 4, Handiwork 4, Gathering 4, Lumbering 3 | 5 | 42 · alpha at Lv. 39 |
Petallia | Lv. 4 | Planting 4, Handiwork 3, Gathering 3, Transporting 2 | 6 | 106 |
Icelyn | Lv. 4 | Cooling 5, Handiwork 5, Transporting 2 | 5 | 38 |
Gildra | Lv. 4 | Handiwork 5, Transporting 2 | 6 | 325 |
Bakemi | Lv. 4 | Handiwork 3, Transporting 2 | 5 | 115 |
Dupin | Lv. 4 | Kindling 7, Handiwork 5, Transporting 2 | 8 | 81 |
Loomen | Lv. 4 | Kindling 4, Handiwork 4 | 7 | 42 |
Petallia Ignis | Lv. 4 | Kindling 4, Handiwork 3, Gathering 3, Transporting 2 | 6 | 22 |
Lovander | Lv. 3 | Handiwork 3, Mining 2, Transporting 2 | 4 | 768 · night only |
Prunelia | Lv. 3 | Planting 3, Gathering 2, Handiwork 1 | 5 | 638 · alpha at Lv. 63 |
Katress | Lv. 3 | Handiwork 3, Transporting 2 | 4 | 605 |
Felbat | Lv. 3 | None — medicine only | 7 | 121 |
Sibelyx Primo | Lv. 3 | Farming 4 | 5 | 82 |
Sibelyx | Lv. 3 | Cooling 3, Farming 3 | 5 | 48 · alpha at Lv. 40 |
Majex | Lv. 3 | Handiwork 5, Kindling 4, Transporting 2 | 8 | 36 |
Vaelet | Lv. 3 | Planting 3, Handiwork 3, Gathering 3, Farming 2 | 5 | 32 · alpha at Lv. 27 |
Lullu | Lv. 3 | Planting 3, Handiwork 3, Gathering 2 | 4 | 20 |
The two spawn giants deserve a warning. Lovander's 768 points and Katress's 605 make them the easiest medicine bodies in the game to acquire, but Lv. 3 is only a stopgap — the moment you have a Splatterina, retire them to Handiwork. Conversely, Felbat has Medicine Production 3 and literally no other work suitability, which sounds bad but is actually useful: a single-job Pal never wanders off to a different station, so it stays welded to the bench you assigned it to.
Low-Rank Medicine Pals You Already Own
Fourteen Pals sit at Lv. 1-2, and they exist to switch a bench on before you have anything better. Lifmunk is the one almost every save has by hour two, and at Lv. 1 it is enough to run the Medieval Medicine Workbench and the Clinic. Jellroy is the most common Pal on this whole list at 1,193 spawn points, and Robinquill Terra is the best all-rounder among them, covering four other jobs at once. None of these should still be on the bench by the time you unlock the Electric Medicine Workbench at Lv. 43.
| Pal | Medicine | Other jobs it does | Spawn points |
|---|---|---|---|
Tarantriss | Lv. 2 | Handiwork 3, Gathering 3, Transporting 2 | 46 · alpha at Lv. 35 |

Prixter | Lv. 2 | Lumbering 4, Gathering 2 | 70 |
Dogen | Lv. 2 | Handiwork 4, Gathering 3, Lumbering 3, Transporting 3 | 52 |
Beegarde | Lv. 2 | Farming 3, Gathering 3, Planting 2, Handiwork 2, Lumbering 2, Transporting 2 | 43 |
Jellroy | Lv. 1 | Watering 2, Handiwork 1, Transporting 1 | 1,193 |
Lifmunk | Lv. 1 | Planting 1, Handiwork 1, Gathering 1, Lumbering 1 | 211 |
Wispaw | Lv. 1 | Handiwork 2, Lumbering 1, Transporting 1 | 181 |
Dazzi Noct | Lv. 1 | Transporting 2, Generating Electricity 1, Handiwork 1 | 135 · alpha at Lv. 60 |
Flopie | Lv. 1 | Planting 2, Handiwork 2, Gathering 2, Transporting 1 | 86 |
Robinquill | Lv. 1 | Handiwork 3, Gathering 3, Planting 2, Lumbering 2, Transporting 2 | 52 |
Pushing Any Pal to the Rank Cap
Base rank is not the end of it. The Applied Medicine Production Handbook I permanently adds +1 Medicine Production to whichever Pal reads it, and since the game caps work suitability at Lv. 10, two books take Silvance from its base 8 to the ceiling. The upgrade lands on that one individual Pal rather than the species, so feed books to a condensed, passive-rolled Pal you actually intend to keep — not to the first body you catch.
Handbooks cost 300 Dog Coins each in the Medal Shop, which is currency you farm from Mimog rather than gold, and they also turn up as a rare supply-drop roll. Because Medicine Production is a 43-Pal job with a big rank gap, books spent here are worth more than books spent on a crowded job like Transporting — you are lifting a bench you have no better body for. The full breakdown of every book and the best Pal to feed it is in the Palworld handbooks guide.
What Your Medicine Pal Actually Brews
Rank matters because of the workload column, not the ingredient list. Every recipe carries a fixed crafting workload, and the medicine list has the widest spread of any station in the game — Low Grade Medical Supplies is 5,000 while Memory Wiping Medicine is 3,000,000, a 600× gap on the same bench. At the bottom of that range a Lv. 1 Pal is fine. At the top it is the difference between a bottle a session and a bottle a week.
| Item | Materials | Workload | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| 5 Red Berries, 2 Horn | 5,000 | Cures Sick, Sprain and Overfull | |
| 3 Ingot, 3 Horn, 1 Bone | 15,000 | Cures Ulcer and Fracture | |
| 5 Ingot, 5 Horn, 2 Bone | 50,000 | Cures Weakened and Depressed | |
| 3 Beautiful Flower, 3 Horn, 1 Bone, 1 Aquatic Pal Fluids | 30,000 | Work speed up, SAN down | |
| 5 Beautiful Flower, 5 Horn, 2 Bone, 2 Aquatic Pal Fluids | 300,000 | Bigger work-speed boost, bigger SAN hit | |
| 20 Mysterious Mushroom, 10 Beautiful Flower, 10 Horn, 5 Bone, 5 Aquatic Pal Fluids | 1,000,000 | Largest work-speed boost, drastic SAN loss | |
| 99 Beautiful Flower, 50 Horn, 50 Bone, 50 Aquatic Pal Fluids | 3,000,000 | Resets your own status points; useless on a Pal | |
| 15 Cavern Mushroom, 30 Red Berries, 10 High Quality Pal Oil, 7 Cotton Candy, 10 Sulfur | 100,000 | Strongest craftable heal | |
| 30 Cavern Mushroom, 50 Red Berries, 20 High Quality Pal Oil, 10 Cotton Candy, 20 Sulfur | 1,000,000 | Revives a downed Pal on the spot |
The three juices are the reason people build a second medicine bench. They raise a Pal's work speed for a while at the cost of its SAN, which turns a medicine crew into an engine that speeds up every other job in the base — and then quietly wrecks the morale you built the Clinic to protect. Use Suspicious Juice on a work sprint and keep hot springs running; save Mysterious Mushroom Juice for a deadline you genuinely care about, because at 1,000,000 workload per bottle you are not making these casually.
The Base Setup That Makes Them Brew Faster
The Pal is half the equation; the buildings are the other half. Five structures use this job, and one of them — the Witch Cauldron — is pure crafting speed and gets skipped by almost everyone. It raises medicine manufacturing speed base-wide just by existing, and building a second one does nothing, so one per base is exactly right. Pair it with whichever bench tier you have unlocked, keep the Medicine Rack stocked so sick Pals self-medicate, and take the Clinic to stop them getting sick in the first place.
| Structure | Tech level | Materials | What it does |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lv. 12 | 30 Wood, 5 Nail, 10 Paldium Fragment | Entry bench — simple medicines only, no power needed | |
| Lv. 24 | 10 Wooden Board, 20 Cloth, 15 Nail | Cuts SAN depletion and prevents illness; occupies one medicine worker | |
| Lv. 24 | 20 Ingot, 3 Wooden Board, 5 Cloth | Storage sick Pals walk to on their own — keep all three Medical Supplies tiers in it | |
| Lv. 32 | 10 Ingot, 20 Stone, 5 Cryogenic Coolant, 3 High Quality Pal Oil | Raises medicine crafting speed base-wide; a second one adds nothing | |
| Lv. 43 | 40 Refined Ingot, 10 Circuit Board, 10 Carbon Fiber | Higher-quality medicines; draws 50 power | |
| Lv. 61 | 50 Hexolite, 50 Plasteel, 30 Circuit Board | Unlocks Revival Potion and Advanced Recovery Meds; draws 1,000 power | |
| Lv. 73 | Endgame ancient materials | Endgame replacement for the Clinic |
One ordering note: the Witch Cauldron lands at Lv. 32, eleven levels before the Electric Medicine Workbench. Build it as soon as it unlocks rather than waiting for the better bench, because it speeds up the bench you already have and the Cryogenic Coolant it needs is easier to get than the Circuit Boards the next tier wants.
Passives That Speed Up the Bench
Work suitability decides which jobs a Pal can do and how much it contributes; crafting-speed passives multiply what it produces once it is on the station. They stack, so a Pal with Artisan and Work Slave is running at a very different rate to a bare one — and the negatives are just as real. Check any medicine Pal you catch before you invest handbooks in it, because a Lv. 6 body with Slacker is worse than a Lv. 5 body with Artisan.
| Passive | Rank | Work speed | Worth keeping? |
|---|---|---|---|
| Remarkable Craftsmanship | 4 | +75% | Best in the game — reroll everything else around it |
| Artisan | 3 | +50% | The standard target for any base worker |
| Work Slave | 1 | +30% | Rank 1 but a big number — great filler slot |
| Serious | 1 | +20% | Fine filler |
| Lucky | 4 | +20% | Comes with attack and only on Lucky Pals |
| Conceited | 1 | +10% | Marginal |
| Clumsy | -1 | -10% | Reroll it |
| Mentally unstable | -1 | -10% | Reroll it |
| Slacker | -3 | -30% | Reroll it immediately |
| Musclehead | 2 | -50% | Never put this Pal in a base |
Musclehead is the one that catches people out — it is a positive-rank passive because it raises attack, so it looks like a keeper on a Pal you also fight with. On a medicine bench it halves your output. Keep your combat Pals and your bench Pals separate, and use the Palworld passive skill list to plan the rerolls before you spend souls condensing anything.
Summary
Short version: Silvance is the best Medicine Production Pal in the game at Lv. 8 and you will not have one for a long time. Until then, catch a Splatterina at night — Lv. 5 with 769 spawn points is the easiest good answer in the job — and upgrade to Wistella or Lyleen Noct when you can. Build the Witch Cauldron at Lv. 32, keep the Medicine Rack stocked, chase Artisan on whoever ends up on the bench, and spend handbooks on the Pal you actually keep rather than the one you wish you had.
