Cold Resistant Hexolite Armor Schematic Location and Stats — Palworld Database

Cold Resistant Hexolite Armor unlocks at Technology Lv 64 with 600 defence, 1,750 HP and the only Cold 3 rating on any body armor that isn't Ancient — and its Legendary schematic is one of the harder pieces of paper in the game to get hold of, because unlike the Refined Metal cold armor, no Pal drops it. This guide covers the full stat card, the one supply-drop region that stocks the line and its exact 0.07% rate, the five chest, salvage, dig and fishing routes that also pay it out, and what 50 Hexolite plus 10 Cryogenic Coolant actually costs you in raw materials.

Cold Resistant Hexolite Armor Stats

Two numbers do the heavy lifting here. 600 defence puts it 20 above the plain Hexolite Armor it branches off, and the resistance line reads Cold 3 · Heat 2 · Ice damage reduction — which makes it the only cold armor below Tech Lv 77 that reaches Cold 3, and the only one in the whole cold ladder that also carries Heat 2. Every other cold-resistant body piece from the Tundra Outfit up to Plasteel gives Cold 2 and Heat 1 at best. This is the first suit that genuinely stops caring what the weather is doing.

Armor defence only means anything measured against other armor, so read 600 against the body slot and not against a weapon's attack number. In its own class it sits second on the entire cold ladder, 200 ahead of Cold Resistant Plasteel Armor and 240 behind Cold-Resistant Ancient Armor thirteen tech levels later. The trade against the plain Hexolite body is small and worth knowing: you give up 2,000 durability (18,000 against 20,000) and gain 20 defence, 5 less weight, the Cold 3 upgrade and the Ice damage cut. If you spend any real time in the Astral Mountains, that swap is not close.

Where the Legendary Schematic Drops

Here is the headline and the bad news in one sentence: the Legendary Cold Resistant Hexolite Armor schematic has six sources and not one of them is a boss kill. Every tier of the line lives in exactly one supply-drop region — the Dark Island — plus a fixed set of chest, salvage, dig and fishing pools that all four rarities share. There is no repeatable 3% Alpha here the way there is on the Refined Metal cold armor, which changes the whole approach to farming it.

SchematicCraftsDark Island supplyOther sources
Schematic 1Uncommon8.9%All five below
Schematic 2Rare1.78%All five below
Schematic 3Epic0.36%All five below
Schematic 4Legendary0.07%All five below

The supply column drops by a factor of five per tier, which lands the Legendary at roughly one in every 1,430 drops if that were your only route. It isn't, and it shouldn't be. Note also that every schematic in the game shares the same rolled-scroll model in your bag, so the rarity border is the only way to tell those four apart at a glance — which is why the pictures on this page are of the armor and the materials wherever we can manage it.

Dark Island Supply Drops

The whole Hexolite equipment family — body, helmet, cold and heat — appears in exactly one of the eight regional supply tables, and it is the Dark Island. Not the Snowfields, not Sakurajima. That single fact is the most common reason players camp the wrong drops for hours. What makes the trip worth taking anyway is the top of that pool: every Dark Island drop pays 30-40 [[item:Chromium|Chromite]] at 100%, and Chromite is half of what a Hexolite ingot is made from.

Two Dark Island drops cover the 50 Chromite one suit needs, and you'd have been opening them anyway for the Legendary and Ultimate Spheres. Treat the Schematic 1 at 8.9% as the thing you're actually collecting — it's the single most common schematic in the pool after the plain Hexolite pair — and let the 0.07% be a surprise. Every region's complete loot table is on the Palworld supply drops page.

The Five Non-Supply Routes

All four rarities of this schematic share an identical set of five sources outside supply drops, and they're a genuinely varied list — you can find this thing by looting, by salvaging, by digging or by fishing. Rank 2 salvaging is the one to build a loop around, because the wreck pool is small, repeatable and entirely under your control once you can craft the magnets, whereas Dark Island chest runs compete with everything else in a grade 5 or grade 6 pool.

The Powerful Fishing Magnet costs 1 Hexolite, 1 Cryogenic Coolant and 1 Bio Battery for ten pulls, which is close to free once your Gigantic Furnace is running — the same furnace you need for the armor anyway. Rank 2 wrecks also carry all four Hexolite schematic lines to Legendary plus all twelve Applied Handbooks, so nothing about the trip is wasted even on a bad run. The full loot tables are in the Palworld salvaging guide.

Why No Pal Drops This One

It's a fair question, because two Hexolite schematics do have a boss source — just not this one. Paladius, the level 60 Alpha, drops the Lightweight variant at a flat 3%, and Necromus drops the Hexolite Helmet at the same rate. The plain, cold and heat body armors were left out of every Pal loot table in the game. If you were hoping to farm a fixed pin for this, that's the hope to let go of.

Legendary schematicBossRateAlso from supply drops?

Hexolite Armor Schematic 4Yes — 0.12% Dark Island
Cold Resistant Hexolite Armor Schematic 4Yes — 0.07% Dark Island
Heat Resistant Hexolite Armor Schematic 4Yes — 0.07% Dark Island

There's a neat symmetry in that table worth reading: the two lines with a boss are the two with the worst chest odds, and the two temperature variants sit at 0.07% against the plain body and helmet's 0.12% — nearly half the rate, because the pool has to fit both a cold and a heat version where the others only need one entry. Practically, that means the cold suit is the rarest roll of the five and the only one with no shortcut at all. Every Alpha Pal and its multipliers is listed on the Alpha database if you're chasing the Lightweight version instead.

Build It Instead: The Drafting Table Ladder

The Drafting Table unlocks at Technology Lv 45 for 4 Technology Points and merges five identical schematics into one of the next rarity up. This line supports the full ladder with no missing rungs, and because there's no boss shortcut, combining is a much more serious option here than it is on any of the Refined-tier armors.

TargetCombine costEquivalent in Schematic 1sDark Island drops needed
Schematic 2Schematic 15~56
Schematic 3Schematic 225~281
Schematic 4 (Legendary)Schematic 3125~1,404

Run the arithmetic and something unusual falls out. At 8.9%, 125 Schematic 1s takes roughly 1,404 supply drops — and rolling the Legendary directly at 0.07% takes roughly 1,430. Those two routes are within 2% of each other, which almost never happens; on most lines combining is far worse than waiting. So on this armor, bank everything. Every Uncommon you pick up is genuinely worth a 125th of a Legendary, the Rares and Epics are worth proportionally more, and mixing both routes is strictly better than committing to either. Combine only at the top of the ladder, when you're holding five Schematic 3s. The schematic upgrade guide has the full rules, and the table costs 20 Refined Ingot, 10 High Quality Wooden Board and 30 Charcoal to build.

TipCraft the Common version the day you hit Tech 64 and stop waiting on a rarity roll. Every tier of this armor gives the identical Cold 3 rating — rarity moves defence, HP and durability, never the temperature protection — so a Common Cold Resistant Hexolite Armor you're wearing tonight beats a Legendary schematic you haven't found. And because the Dark Island supply drop that might roll the schematic also hands you 30-40 Chromite at 100%, the farm pays for the craft even on a zero-luck run.

How to Craft Cold Resistant Hexolite Armor

Four materials on the Production Assembly Line II for 1,100,000 work. The bench is the easy part — it unlocks 22 levels before the armor does. What actually gates you is the Gigantic Furnace at Tech Lv 58, because 50 Hexolite is the single biggest line in the recipe and Hexolite can only be smelted there.

MaterialQtyMade at / from
Hexolite50Gigantic Furnace (Tech Lv 58) — 1 Chromite + 1 Hexolite Quartz each
Plasteel20Electric Furnace (Tech Lv 44) — 2 Crude Oil + 5 Ore each
High Quality Cloth10Tech Lv 36 — 10 Wool + 1 Leather each
Cryogenic Coolant10Tech Lv 31 — 1 Aquatic Pal Fluids + 1 Ice Organ each

Trace all four lines down to things you mine, shear or pull off a corpse and one suit is 370 raw units. The two lines to plan around are the 100 Wool — that is ten full stacks of shearing, and the only reason a Kingpaca ranch is worth building this late — and the 50 Hexolite Quartz, which has 635 nodes on the map and no substitute. Compared to the plain Hexolite Armor at 350 raw units and 1,000,000 work, the cold version costs exactly 20 more raw units and 100,000 more work, all of it the coolant. That is a very cheap upgrade for Cold 3 and an Ice damage cut.

Leather10Mammorest pays 5-10 at 100%
Ice Organ10Ice Pals at 100% — see below
Aquatic Pal Fluids10Water Pals at 100% — see below

One warning that catches people out: the work cost is enormous and it isn't at the bench. Smelting 50 Hexolite is 500,000 work apiece — 25,000,000 work on its own — against 4,000,000 for the Plasteel and 1,100,000 for the armor itself. End to end a single suit is north of 30 million work units, so the answer is never a bigger assembly line; it's more Kindling Pals on the Gigantic Furnace, which needs 1,500 power and 150 Plasteel, 100 Polymer, 200 Flame Organ and 12 Computer to build in the first place.

Where Hexolite and Chromite Come From

Hexolite is an alloy of two things, and they behave completely differently. Hexolite Quartz is a map node — 635 of them, all on Feybreak, mined like any other ore. Chromite is not on the map at all; it's a Metal Detector find, a supply-drop staple and a Pal drop, which means the fastest 50 Chromite in the game is two Dark Island supply drops rather than any amount of digging.

SourceGivesAmountNotes
Dark Island supply dropsChromite30-40100% every drop — two drops covers a suit

Hexolite Quartz nodesHexolite Quartz635 pins on the map
Ancient Feybreak Ruins expeditionHexolite Quartz10-20Very Hard, 120 minutes

Set the Dark Cave of Feybreak expedition running on a loop and Chromite stops being a problem entirely — 30-50 per hour with no player input beats anything you can do by hand. Smokie is the answer if you need some right now, since 1,620 spawn points means you are never more than a short flight from one. The quartz is the part that needs actual mining time, so bring a Mining team and clear a cluster of nodes in one trip rather than picking them off. Everything else about the ore lines is on the Palworld items database.

Ten Cryogenic Coolant, Fast

Ten coolant means 10 Ice Organ and 10 Aquatic Pal Fluids, both of which drop at 100% off their element — so this is purely a question of how many per kill and how easy the Pal is to find. Three or four kills on the right targets covers the entire suit, and the same two materials feed the Powerful Fishing Magnet you want for rank 2 salvaging.

PalDropsPer killWild spots

BastigorIce Organ2-569
FoxcicleIce Organ2-3187
Suzaku AquaAquatic Pal Fluids550
AzurobeAquatic Pal Fluids2-4199
Faleris AquaAquatic Pal Fluids2-4197

Frostallion is the outlier worth pointing at: 10 Ice Organ in a single kill, exactly the amount one suit needs, and you're likely fighting it at this stage anyway. For repeatable farming without the Alpha trip, Pierdon Cryst at 4-5 per kill is the efficient pick and Foxcicle at 187 spawn points is the convenient one. On the water side Suzaku Aqua pays a flat 5 but only has 50 spots, while Azurobe and Faleris Aqua sit at roughly 200 each — take whichever you trip over first. Coolant itself is only 10,000 work apiece, so batch thirty and forget about it.

Can You Even Build It Yet?

Technology Lv 64 is the headline gate, but nine supporting nodes sit underneath it and several have their own workstation and their own power bill. Work down this checklist before you go schematic hunting — a Legendary schematic in your bag does nothing at all until the furnace chain exists to feed it. All told the nodes below cost 36 Technology Points, and every one of them is an ordinary point rather than the Ancient kind.

The three Tech 58 nodes are the wall, and they arrive together for a reason — Gigantic Furnace, Hexolite and Metal Detector are one unlock in practice, 10 points for the ability to make the metal at all. Note the dependency loop hiding in the middle of that table: the Gigantic Furnace itself costs 150 Plasteel, so you need the Electric Furnace running at volume before you can even build the thing that makes Hexolite. If you're at Tech 59 with the furnace up, build the plain Hexolite Armor immediately at 580 defence rather than waiting five levels for 600 — the gap is not worth a level in the snow. The full tree is on the Palworld technology page.

How It Compares to Every Other Cold Armor

Eight body armors carry cold resistance and they form a clean ladder from Tech Lv 9 to Tech Lv 77. Cold Resistant Hexolite Armor sits second, and it is the point on that ladder where the temperature protection itself finally improves — everything below it gives Cold 2, and only this suit and the Ancient one reach Cold 3. That's a bigger deal than the defence jump, because it is the first time climbing the ladder makes you warmer rather than just harder to kill.

The ten tech levels between Plasteel at 54 and Hexolite at 64 buy you +200 defence and +450 HP for the same 35 weight and the same 18,000 durability — the single largest jump on the ladder that doesn't involve Ancient technology. Above it there is exactly one upgrade left, and it costs thirteen more levels and a Worldtree Ingot chain. Below it, if all you need is to not freeze, the Tundra Outfit at Tech 9 still solves that for 4 weight and always will. Every armor piece in the game is compared on the armor database.

What the Legendary Version Actually Gains

Rarity raises the crafted armor's numbers, and while Pocketpair has never published the multipliers, the Refined Metal Armor line is the one body-armor family whose five rarity steps are all laid out in the game to be read. It climbs 150 → 195 → 210 → 225 → 240 defence and 500 → 650 → 700 → 750 → 800 HP, which is ×1.3, ×1.4, ×1.5 and ×1.6 of base on both stats. Apply that same curve to 600 and 1,750 and you get the right-hand columns below.

RarityRefined Metal Armor (measured)HPHexolite Cold defence (estimated)HP (estimated)

Rare210700~840~2,450
Epic225750~900~2,625
Legendary240800~960~2,800

Treat the two right-hand columns as close estimates rather than measured numbers — 600 and 1,750 are the only certain figures there. What isn't in doubt is the shape, and the shape is why this schematic is worth chasing. At an estimated ~960 defence, a Legendary Cold Resistant Hexolite Armor at Tech Lv 64 would out-armor a Common Cold-Resistant Ancient Armor at Tech Lv 77 — thirteen tech levels and an entire Worldtree Ingot chain, skipped. Even the Epic roll at an estimated ~900 lands within striking distance of it. The Legendary recipes across every family also add Ancient Civilization Parts and roughly double the metal, so budget for that before you spend the schematic.

Cold vs the Other Hexolite Body Armors

Four body armors and one helmet make up the Hexolite set, they unlock across seven tech levels, and three of the four bodies share an identical 600 / 1,750 / 18,000 stat block. What separates them is entirely the passive line, which makes this a pick-by-need decision rather than a pick-by-number one — and the cold suit is the only one of the five that upgrades a temperature rating rather than holding it flat.

Read the last column before the stat columns. The heat version is the cheapest of the three variants by a distance — 2 Thermal Cores against 10 Cryogenic Coolant — and the Lightweight version is by far the most expensive, doubling the Hexolite to 100 for a carry-weight passive. The plain body is the only one that keeps the full 20,000 durability, so if you genuinely don't care about temperature it is still the most repair-free option. For the Astral Mountains and the endgame snow content, the cold suit's Cold 3 is the reason to pay the extra 20 raw units, and its Heat 2 means you don't have to swap for a volcano trip either — something the heat suit can't say in reverse, since it drops back to Cold 2.

The Short Answer

There is no boss for this one. The Legendary Cold Resistant Hexolite Armor schematic comes from Dark Island supply drops at 0.07%, from Dark Island treasure chests and ordinary chests, from crates on the large oil rig, from tier 5 treasure map digs, from Dark Island treasure fishing spots, and from rank 2 salvaging wrecks — which is the one you can actually loop, once the Powerful Fishing Magnet is unlocked at Tech Lv 62. Bank every tier you find, because combining 125 Schematic 1s at the Drafting Table costs about the same number of drops as rolling the Legendary outright. Build the Common version the moment you hit Tech Lv 64 — 50 Chromite, 50 Hexolite Quartz, 100 Ore, 100 Wool, 40 Crude Oil, 10 Leather, 10 Ice Organ and 10 Aquatic Pal Fluids — and remember the Cold 3 rating is identical at every rarity, so the suit you're wearing tonight beats the schematic you haven't found.
