Strongest Attack Skills in Palworld 1.0 and How to Get Them — Palworld Database

Only three attack skills in Palworld hit for 700 power, and two of them sit in the Arena Shop for 45 Battle Tickets each. This guide ranks the seven attacks actually worth a slot in 1.0, lists every Pal that learns each one and the level it happens at, and gives the exact ticket price and drop odds for the fruits — plus the six monster skills no fruit will ever sell you.

Strongest Attack Skills at a Glance

Each Pal carries three attack skills at once, so the question is never "what's the best skill" — it's "which three earn the slots". Frostallion and Paladius are the two Pals that can run a 700-power skill in more than one slot, which is most of why they still headline endgame teams. Absolute Frost and Holy Burst are the only 700s you can buy outright; Meteorain has no fruit at all, so the only way to get it is to level one of eight Dragons. The bottom three trade raw power for uptime, and Poison Shower's 8-second cooldown makes it the one skill on this list you'll actually cast more than twice in a fight.

Power, Cooldown and What Makes a Skill Strong

Power is what one cast hits for; cooldown is how long you wait to do it again. Divide one by the other and something strange falls out — across all 300 attack skills in the game, almost everything lands between 20 and 27 damage per second on paper. A 160-power skill on an 8-second timer and a 700-power skill on a 30-second timer are within three points of each other. What separates them is shape: burst skills dump their whole number into a boss window, spam skills keep chipping while you reposition.

The table below is the ceiling at each cooldown length. Notice the 30-second row — it's the only tier where the biggest power number and the best sustained damage happen at the same time, which is exactly why every skill in this guide except Poison Shower lives at 20 or 30 seconds. Going longer is a trap: the 60-second tier reaches 1,200 power and still comes out at 20 per second.

CooldownHighest power at that timerDamage per secondWhat the tier is for
8s18022.5Constant chip damage while you move
12s25020.8Filler between big casts
16s35021.9Mid-game workhorse skills
20s45022.5Best sustained tier you can buy cheap

30s80026.7Every top-tier skill in the game
40s80020.0One-off opener, then dead weight
60s1,20020.0The single biggest hit, once per fight

One rule before the rankings: skills come in two classes, Shot and Melee, and they scale off different stats. A Shot skill runs on the Pal's Shot Attack, a Melee skill runs on its Melee Attack, so comparing a 600-power Melee skill to a 700-power Shot skill tells you nothing on its own — you have to check which stat the Pal actually has. Geyser Gush is the only Melee-class skill in this guide, and it changes who should carry it completely. The full active skills database lists power, cooldown and class for all 300.

The 7 Strongest Attack Skills

Sections below go in ranked order. Each one lists the Pals that learn the skill by levelling, the level it unlocks, and the attack stat that actually matters for that skill's class — Shot Attack for the six Shot skills, Melee Attack for Geyser Gush.

1. Absolute Frost — Ice, 700 Power

The strongest Ice skill in the game and the shortest learner list of any 700-power attack — seven Pals, and that's the complete roster below. Frostallion is the obvious home for it at 140 Shot Attack with a matching Ice element, and it's also the only Pal here that unlocks Holy Burst as well, so a single Frostallion can run two 700s at once. If you don't have a legendary yet, Univolt Cryst gets it at level 50 — the earliest unlock on the list — and spawns at 69 spots you can check on the Univolt Cryst spawn map. The Ice Skill Fruit costs 45 Battle Tickets and skips the level requirement entirely.

2. Holy Burst — Neutral, 700 Power

Same 700 power and 30-second timer as Absolute Frost, but with 162 Pals on the learner list instead of seven — by far the most widely available top-tier attack in the game. The catch is that only 44 of those learn it by levelling; the other 118 can only end up with it as an egg move. Being Neutral, it never gets an element bonus and never gets resisted either, which makes it the safe pick when you don't know what you're fighting. Hartalis gets it absurdly early at level 15 with 130 Shot Attack, and Selyne at level 22 is the best mid-game option — Selyne turns up at 40 spawn points on the Selyne spawn map.

3. Meteorain — Dragon, 700 Power

The third and last 700-power skill, and the only one with no fruit anywhere — not in the Arena Shop, not on a tree, not in a chest. Eight Pals learn it and that's the entire list below, so getting Meteorain means catching one of them and levelling it. Jetragon is the standout at 140 Shot Attack and level 60, ten levels earlier than every other Dragon on the list; Shaolong is the realistic alternative at 135 and spawns at 63 spots on the Shaolong spawn map. Every Pal on this list except Astralym is Dragon-element, so the element bonus comes free.

4. Geyser Gush — Water, 600 Power (Melee class)

The odd one out. Geyser Gush is a Melee-class skill despite firing water pillars, which means it scales off Melee Attack — and that single fact decides who should carry it. Jormuntide has 150 Melee Attack, the highest of all 36 learners and a full 40 points clear of second place, so it turns a 600-power skill into something that hits harder than most 700s on a lesser Pal. Second place is Relaxaurus at 110, and 25 of the 36 learners are stuck on a flat 100. If you're buying the fruit for 45 Battle Tickets, put it on something with real Melee Attack or you're wasting the ticket. Most learners unlock it at level 70; Neptilius and Whalaska get there at 50.

5. Volcanic Rain — Fire, 450 Power

The best sustained-damage skill you can buy cheap. At 450 power on a 20-second timer it works out to 22.5 damage per second — higher than Geyser Gush, higher than Dragon Meteor, and it costs 30 Battle Tickets instead of 45. It's the highest-power Fire skill in the 20-second bracket, which is the bracket you want when a fight lasts long enough to cast three or four times. Only 11 Pals learn it by levelling out of 135 that can end up with it — the other 124 need it as an egg move — so the fruit is genuinely the sane route here. Moldron leads on Shot Attack at 125 and gets it at level 30, and it's easy to find at 101 spawn points on the Moldron spawn map.

6. Apocalypse — Dark, 400 Power

Dark's answer to Volcanic Rain — 400 power on the same 20-second timer, 30 Battle Tickets for the fruit, and a level-30 unlock on the best carrier in the game for it. Bellanoir Libero and Bellanoir both sit at 150 Shot Attack, the highest of any Pal that learns this by levelling, and Libero gets there ten levels earlier. Necromus at 145 is the pick if you want the skill on a mount you're already riding. Same story as Volcanic Rain on availability: 13 Pals learn it naturally, 126 more only as an egg move.

7. Poison Shower — Dark, 160 Power

The strangest entry and the reason this list isn't just sorted by power. Poison Shower does 160 damage on an 8-second cooldown — you'll cast it four times in the window one Absolute Frost takes to come back, and it still lands at 20 damage per second. That makes it the skill that keeps working while you're moving, dodging, or riding, and it's the only one here you can reasonably fire from a mount mid-fight. Just nine Pals learn it, the shortest list in this guide, and Tarantriss is the one worth building — 100 Shot Attack, Dark element for the bonus, and 46 spawn points on the Tarantriss spawn map. The fruit is 30 Battle Tickets.

TipTwo of the three 700-power skills — Absolute Frost and Holy Burst — are learned by the same Pal. Frostallion picks up Holy Burst at level 55 and Absolute Frost at 70, so one fully levelled Frostallion runs two of the game's three strongest attacks with a free slot left over. Paladius does the same thing five levels apart at 55 and 60, and it has the higher Defense of the two at 145.

How to Get Skill Fruits

A skill fruit hands a Pal its skill immediately instead of making you grind to the unlock level, which is the whole point of buying one — Absolute Frost normally waits until level 70 on Frostallion, or you hand it over the moment you catch it for 45 tickets. There are 93 fruits in total and the full skill fruit list maps each one to the move it teaches. Heads up on the art: every fruit of the same element shares one icon in-game, so the Ice fruit for Absolute Frost and the Ice fruit for Icicle Bullet look identical in your inventory — read the name, not the picture. Four routes get you one.

Arena Shop — 27 Fruits for Battle Tickets

The Arena Shop is the only reliable source, and it's the single Arena Shop pin among the 12 merchants marked on the map. It stocks 27 of the 93 fruits at a flat 30 or 45 Battle Tickets each — the 45-ticket shelf holds every 600- and 700-power fruit in the shop plus two 500s, listed below, and the 30-ticket shelf covers everything else including Volcanic Rain, Apocalypse and Poison Shower. Absolute Frost and Holy Burst are the only 700-power skills sold anywhere, and at 45 tickets they are the best value in the shop by a wide margin. The other 66 fruits, Meteorain's included, are simply not for sale.

Battle Ticket Payouts by Arena Rank

Tickets come from the Pal Arena, and the payout curve is brutally top-heavy. Clearing the whole ladder once nets 375 tickets — enough for eight 45-ticket fruits straight away. After that, only the last two ranks are worth farming: Legend pays 15–25 per repeat clear against 19 opponents at level 80, while Bronze pays a single ticket. If you're at level 65 and want Absolute Frost today, one first clear of Master rank covers it twice over.

Skill Fruit Trees on the Map

Skill Fruit Trees grow a random fruit and respawn, which makes them the free route — 35 of them across the main islands plus 12 more up on the World Tree, 47 in total. Open the skill fruit tree map layer and run a loop between the closest four or five. You don't get to choose what drops, so treat trees as the way you stock up on mid-tier fruits and the Arena Shop as the way you buy a specific one.

Replanting Fruit at the Orchard

Plant a spare fruit at the Orchard and each harvest cycle rolls one of five outcomes. The honest read: 60% of cycles give you nothing at all, and the jackpot — a rare fruit of the same element — is a 3% roll. What makes it worth doing anyway is that every payout stays inside the element you planted, so feeding it junk Ice fruits is a slow lottery ticket for Absolute Frost. Plant the element you actually want.

Harvest resultChance
Nothing this cycle60%
The exact fruit you planted15%
Common fruit of the same element15%
Uncommon fruit of the same element7%
Rare fruit of the same element3%

Chests, Fishing and Relic Recycling

The last route is passive and slow. Chests in Sakurajima, Feybreak and Sunreach Isle each drop the Fire fruit for Volcanic Rain and the Dark fruit for Apocalypse at about 1.5%, and fishing in those same regions runs roughly 0.9–1.5% depending on where you cast. Recycling Ancient Relics can produce any of these fruits too, but at a few hundredths of a percent per relic it's noise, not a plan — the Ancient Relic Recycler guide covers what that machine is actually good for. Worth knowing that Absolute Frost, Holy Burst and Geyser Gush fruits do not appear in chests or fishing at all, which leaves the Arena Shop as the only practical source for the top of the list.

Skills No Fruit Can Teach

Above the 700-power tier sits a small group of skills locked to exactly one Pal each, with no fruit in existence. Four of them hit for 800 on the same 30-second timer as Absolute Frost — that's 26.7 damage per second, the highest sustained number of any real attack skill in the game. Dandilord is the pick of the group at 135 Shot Attack with Toxic Dance, and Hartalis gets Sacred Rain at level 40, thirty levels before anything else here unlocks. Megaton Implode is the curiosity: 1,200 power, the biggest single number in the game, stuck on a level 22 Tocotoco with 75 Shot Attack and a 60-second wait, which is why nobody builds around it.

Aqua TornadoWater80040sPanthalusLv. 60

Aqua Tornado is the cautionary tale in that table. Same 800 power as the others, but the 40-second cooldown drags it down to 20 damage per second — worse sustained output than a 160-power Poison Shower. If you're picking between two skills and the power numbers are close, the shorter cooldown wins almost every time.

Which Skill to Buy First

If you have 45 tickets and one purchase in you, buy Holy Burst. It's tied for the highest power in the game, 162 Pals can end up with it so it'll never be dead weight in your box, and Neutral damage is never resisted by anything you're about to fight. Absolute Frost is the better second buy, specifically for Frostallion or Paladius, since those two can stack it alongside Holy Burst. Volcanic Rain at 30 tickets is the best cheap pick-up for a Fire team, and Poison Shower is worth 30 tickets on exactly one Pal — Tarantriss — where the 8-second timer turns into constant pressure. Meteorain you don't buy at all; you catch Jetragon and level it to 60.
