What to Buy from Merchants: Best Items Worth Your Gold

Gold piles up fast in Palworld — especially once bounties and selling runs are rolling — and spending it well beats farming almost every time. This is the shopping list: what's genuinely worth buying, the cheapest place for each, and the things no merchant sells so you don't go looking.
The Breeding Shopping List
Cake fuels every breeding farm, and two of its annoying ingredients are simply for sale:

Ammo: Buy It, Don't Craft It
Handgun rounds at 40 gold and Assault Rifle ammo at 90 are cheap enough to treat as consumables you never think about again; Rifle and Shotgun rounds cost real money, so those are the two where crafting still pays if you have the Gunpowder line running anyway.
Every ammo recipe eats Gunpowder, and Gunpowder isn't sold — but the finished ammo is, which quietly makes shops the lazy ammo source:

The Desert Shop Specials
The Desert Shop stocks two things nobody else reliably offers:
- Skill Fruits at 1,000–3,000 gold each — instant moves for your team without waiting on the Skill Fruit Orchard
- A Diamond at 50,000 gold — a pure luxury buy, but it's there when a recipe demands one Seeds are cheap everywhere: Berry Seeds at 10 gold, Tomato at 30, Lettuce at 40 — a whole plantation for pocket change.
What Gold Can't Buy
Save yourself the window shopping — no merchant sells any of these:
- Honey, Flour, or Cake — produce them
- Gunpowder, Cement, Polymer, Carbon Fiber, or Sulfur — craft or mine them
- Ancient Civilization Parts and Cores — alphas and late-game sources only There are also three vendors that don't take gold at all: the Medal Shop (Dog Coins), the Arena shop (Battle Tickets), and the Bounty Officer (Successful Bounty Tokens).
