Night Exclusive Pals: All 13 and Where to Catch Them
Every Pal that only spawns after dark in Palworld — all 13 with wild level bands, pin counts, drops and hunting grounds, plus the seven Pals people wrongly call nocturnal, the 10 you can catch in daylight inside dungeons, and the two night-only alphas.

Thirteen Pals never show up in daylight — walk their spawn areas at noon and the ground is empty, no matter how many laps you do. This guide lists all 13 with their wild level bands, spawn counts and hunting grounds, sorts out the seven Pals that only *look* nocturnal, and shows the two ways to grab most of them without waiting for sunset.
All 13 Night Exclusive Pals
Between them these 13 cover 5,645 spawn points, and the spread is wildly uneven — Loupmoon alone accounts for 1,109 of them, while Nox is pinned to 153 spots on two islands. Eleven of the 13 carry the Dark element, which is no accident: Dark is the biggest roster in the game at 70 Pals, and the night list is where its early-game members live. The other two are the odd ones out — Pengullet Lux is Water/Electric and Hangyu Cryst is pure Ice. Level bands matter more than pin counts when you're planning a trip: the four rookies (Depresso, Hoocrates, Daedream, Nox) top out in the low 20s, while Splatterina runs to Lv 80 and will end a mid-game player who wanders into the Crimson Labyrinth after dark.

Pals That Look Nocturnal But Aren't
Plenty of lists pad the nocturnal roster with Pals that simply prefer the dark, and it costs you real time — you skip a daytime hunt that would have worked fine. Wispaw and Felbat are the two that get miscounted most: Wispaw holds 22 daylight spots, and Felbat's day and night numbers are dead even at 121 each, so the clock changes nothing for it. The rest below are genuinely night-heavy — Starryon shows up at 178 spots after dark versus a single one in daylight — so hunting them at night is still the right call, just don't assume the sun locks you out.
| Pal | Day Pins | Night Pins | What It Means |
|---|---|---|---|
Starryon | 1 | 178 | Effectively nocturnal — one daylight spot exists |
Jellroy | 9 | 1,197 | Swarms the water at night, near-absent by day |
Sootseer | 10 | 649 | Night hunt strongly recommended |
Pyrin Noct | 10 | 411 | Night hunt strongly recommended |
Katress | 45 | 615 | Catchable by day, 14x easier at night |
Wispaw | 22 | 181 | Catchable by day at 22 spots |
Felbat | 121 | 121 | Not nocturnal at all — identical either way |
What the Night Pals Drop
Most of the night roster drops starter materials you'll already be swimming in — Leather, Bone, Fiber — so farm them for the Pal, not the loot. Two entries break that rule hard. Splatterina is one of the best relic sources in the game, dropping 30-50 Decayed Ancient Relics plus 10-20 Dark Radiant Gems every single kill, which is worth building a night route around if you're feeding the Ancient Relic Recycler. Wixen Noct is the other, handing over 1-2 Medium Pal Souls guaranteed. Lovander is the lottery ticket: four different 1% drops, including Memory Wiping Medicine you'd otherwise have to buy.
| Pal | Guaranteed Drops | Chance Drops |
|---|---|---|
Splatterina | Decayed Relic x30-50, Dormant Relic x10-20, Gorgeous Relic x4-8, Dark Radiant Gem x10-20, Dark Fragment x2-3 | Glowing Relic 50%, Glistening Relic 25% |
Wixen Noct | Medium Pal Soul x1-2 | Advanced Technical Manual 1% |
Maraith | Bone x1-2 | Crude Oil 50%, Small Pal Soul 15% |
Lovander | Mushroom x2-4 | Cake, Suspicious Juice, Strange Juice, Memory Wiping Medicine — 1% each |
Nox | Leather x1 | Small Pal Soul 40% |
Hangyu Cryst | Ice Organ x1, Fiber x5-10 | — |
Pengullet Lux | Electric Organ x1-2, Aquatic Pal Fluids x1 | — |
Hoocrates | Fiber x5-10 | Advanced Technical Manual 1% |
Depresso | Venom Gland x2-3 | — |
Needoll Noct | Venom Gland x1, Fiber x1-2 | — |
Tombat | Leather x1-2 | Small Pal Soul 1% |
Loupmoon | Bone x1 | — |
Daedream | Venom Gland x1 | Small Pal Soul 1% |
Best Night Exclusive Pals to Catch First
If you only have one night to spend, these are the five that change how your base runs. Splatterina is the headline pick — Handiwork 6 puts it in the top tier of crafters, beaten only by Solenne at 8 and Selyne at 7, and both of those are a long way past where you'll first meet it. Depresso is the other must-catch and it's available from Lv 4: its Caffeine Inoculation partner skill scales from +100% work speed at rank 1 to +900% at rank 5, the biggest single work-speed number attached to any Pal. Wixen Noct doubles as a Kindling 4 furnace and a Handiwork 4 crafter, which is rare, and its partner skill adds 30% to 50% ranged attack while it's out with you.
| Pal | Best Job | Why It's Worth the Trip |
|---|---|---|
Splatterina | Handiwork 6 | Top-tier crafter and the best relic farm on this list; Sadist gives it +15% Shot Attack at the cost of 15% Defense |
Depresso | Farming 1 | Its partner skill runs 100% / 200% / 400% / 600% / 900% work speed by rank — catchable at Lv 4 |
Wixen Noct | Kindling 4 | Kindling 4 and Handiwork 4 in one Pal, plus 30-50% ranged attack as your partner |
Maraith | Gathering 4 | Gathering 4 and Mining 4 together, and the only rideable Pal here — a Ground mount at 1,100 sprint, saddle unlocks at Tech 37 |
Lovander | Handiwork 3 | Handiwork 3 with Medicine Production 3, which covers your healing item production in one slot |
Hangyu Cryst | Handiwork 3 | Handiwork 3, Transporting 3 and Cooling 2 — a full utility body that also drops Ice Organ |
Tombat | Mining 3 | Mining 3 this early is rare; it carries your ore line until you find better |
How to Catch Night Pals in Daylight
Dungeons don't have a sky, so the day/night rule stops applying the moment you step inside — and 10 of the 13 also live in caves. That makes a dungeon run the fastest way to fill these Paldeck slots without reorganising your play session around sunset. The catch is that some only appear in the boss room at the end: Depresso and Hoocrates are boss-room-only in Hillside Cavern and Isolated Island Cavern, so you have to clear the whole thing. Everything else on the list roams the cave as a regular spawn too. Cave entrances are on the Palworld interactive map, and the full dungeon list has the level ranges.
| Pal | Dungeon | Appears As |
|---|---|---|
Depresso | Hillside Cavern, Isolated Island Cavern | Dungeon boss only |
Hoocrates | Hillside Cavern, Isolated Island Cavern | Dungeon boss only |
Daedream | Hillside Cavern, Isolated Island Cavern, Ravine Grotto | Regular spawn and boss |
Nox | Ravine Grotto | Regular spawn and boss |
Tombat | Astral Mountains Cavern, Hillside Cavern, Isolated Island Cavern | Regular spawn and boss |
Loupmoon | Mountain Stream Grotto | Regular spawn and boss |
Lovander | Cavern of the Dunes | Regular spawn and boss |
Wixen Noct | Cherry Blossom Cave | Regular spawn and boss |
Maraith | Astral Mountains Cavern, Cherry Blossom Cave | Regular spawn and boss |
Splatterina | Feybreak Cavern | Regular spawn and boss |
Breed the Three That Skip Dungeons
The three night Pals with no cave presence — Pengullet Lux, Hangyu Cryst and Needoll Noct — happen to be the three variants, and variants hatch from a fixed pair regardless of the clock. That closes the loop neatly: 10 through caves and these 3 through eggs means all 13 night exclusive Pals are obtainable without ever hunting at night. Both parents in each pair below are ordinary daytime catches, and pairing two of the variant itself also works if you already have a breeding stock going. The breeding mechanics guide covers passive inheritance if you want to stack traits while you're at it.
| Night Pal | Parent A | Parent B |
|---|---|---|
Pengullet Lux | Pengullet | Sparkit |
Hangyu Cryst | Hangyu | Swee |
Needoll Noct | Needoll | Prunelia |
Wixen Noct | Katress | Wixen |
The Two Night-Only Alphas
Of the 90 fixed alpha spawns on the map, two only turn up after dark. Alpha Splatterina at Lv 65 is the one people find by accident and lose to — it inherits the species' night lock, so there's no daytime attempt available. Alpha Lyleen Noct at Lv 58 is the strange one, because the regular Lyleen Noct wanders around at any hour across its 42 spots; only the alpha waits for night. Both are worth planning for rather than stumbling into — bring a team that resists Dark and check the alpha hunting route by level before you set out.
| Alpha | Level | Element | Note |
|---|---|---|---|
Splatterina | Lv. 65 | Dark | Species is night-locked, so the alpha is too |
Lyleen Noct | Lv. 58 | Dark | Regular form spawns day or night; the alpha is night-only |
Night Hunting Tips
You can't sleep your way into night — beds only work after dark and they push you to morning, which is the opposite of what you want. So the two real levers are waiting it out or opening the world settings before you load in and stretching the night while shortening the day. Capture difficulty isn't the problem here: twelve of the 13 sit at a 1.0 capture rate, with Pengullet Lux the only one slightly tougher at 0.9, so standard spheres do the job at level. Pack for groups rather than singles — Depresso, Hangyu Cryst, Tombat and Maraith all appear in threes, so one good spot can fill a cage in a single stop.
