Lightweight Plasteel Armor Schematic Location and Stats
Where the Legendary Lightweight Plasteel Armor schematic drops in Palworld — only three loot pools, no supply drop and no boss, the 400 defence stat card at Tech Lv 55, the full 491-material craft, and the fastest ways to get 8 Corrosive Solvent.

Lightweight Plasteel Armor unlocks at Technology Lv 55 with 400 defence, 1,300 HP and 18,000 durability, and it is the earliest body armor in the game that raises how much you can carry. Its Legendary schematic is also the hardest piece of paper in the whole Plasteel family to find — three loot pools against the seven every other Plasteel schematic rolls from, with no supply drop and no boss anywhere in the chain. This guide has the full stat card, all three routes with map links, the Drafting Table math, and the fastest ways to line up 8 Corrosive Solvent before you start crafting.
Lightweight Plasteel Armor Stats
Read this suit against the plain Plasteel Armor and something unusual falls out: it is a strict upgrade, not a trade-off. HP, durability, weight and both temperature ratings are byte-for-byte identical at 1,300 / 18,000 / 35 / Cold 1 · Heat 1 — and on top of that you get +15 defence and the carry-weight passive. The heat and cold variants have to give something up to specialise; this one gives up nothing at all. The entire price is 8 Corrosive Solvent, four extra tech levels and 100,000 more crafting work.
| Stat | Lightweight Plasteel Armor |
|---|---|
| Slot | Body armor |
| Defence | 400 |
| HP bonus | 1,300 |
| Durability | 18,000 |
| Weight | 35 |
| Passives | Max Inventory Weight up 3 · Cold 1 · Heat 1 |
| Technology level | Lv 55, 5 Technology Points |
| Earlier in the line | Plasteel Armor at Tech Lv 51 |
| Crafting station | Production Assembly Line II (unlocks at Lv 42) |
| Crafting work | 400,000 |
| Legendary schematic | Lightweight Plasteel Armor Schematic 4 |
| Item value | 158,470 Gold |
Defence only means anything measured against other armor, so read 400 against the body slot and not against any weapon's attack rating. The number that actually justifies the build is the passive, and it lands at rank 3 — the same rank the [[item:SFArmorWeight|Lightweight Hexolite Armor]] gives ten tech levels later, and one below the rank 4 that only Lightweight Ancient Armor reaches at Tech Lv 79. In other words, Tech 55 buys you almost the whole carry-weight ceiling in the game. Pocketpair has never published the exact kilograms behind each rank, so compare by rank rather than by a number, and check the best Pals for carrying more items for the other half of the equation.
Where the Legendary Schematic Drops
The short version: no supply drop stocks it and no Pal drops it, so there is no percentage to quote and no boss pin to camp. What exists is three loot pools — oil rig crates, Sakurajima enemy camp boss stashes, and tier 4 treasure map digs — and the dig entry only opens up from Schematic 2 upward. That's the leanest source list of any armor schematic at this tier, and it is the single most important thing to know before you go looking.
| Schematic | Crafts | Supply drops | Pal drop | Loot pools |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Schematic 1 | Uncommon | None | None | 2 |
Schematic 2 | Rare | None | None | 3 |
Schematic 3 | Epic | None | None | 3 |
Schematic 4 | Legendary | None | None | 3 |
There is one piece of good news in that table. Because every rarity shares the same containers, the Legendary is not locked behind harder content than the Uncommon — the rig crate that could hand you Schematic 1 is exactly the crate that could hand you Schematic 4. The catch is the top row: Schematic 1 has only two pools, because tier 4 digs don't stock it. That inverts the usual advice — digging is a route to the middle of the ladder, never to the bottom of it. Every schematic in the game also shares one rolled-scroll model in your bag, so the rarity border is the only visual tell between those four, which is why the art on this page shows the armor and its materials instead.
The Three Routes, Ranked
Oil rigs are the route to build around, and not only because they're a pool. The same crates that roll this schematic are the biggest Crude Oil payout in the game, and Crude Oil is a material the armor itself needs 60 of — one rig trip can pay the paper and the fuel in the same visit. Sakurajima camps are the repeatable option since camps come back, and digs are the passive trickle you get for free while doing treasure maps. Note what is not on this list: ordinary camp loot, Sakurajima treasure chests and fishing all stock the rest of the Plasteel set but skip this one entirely.
| Route | Where | Map | Why it ranks here |
|---|---|---|---|
| Crates on the oil rigs | Offshore | 185 oil field pins | Pays the schematic and the Crude Oil at once — 5-150 per crate, 10-300 on the large rig |
| Enemy camp boss stashes | Sakurajima | 58 enemy camp pins | The repeatable one — camps respawn, so this is your farmable loop |
| Treasure map digs (tier 4) | Anywhere | — | Fully passive, but not in the Schematic 1 pool at all |
One planning note on the camp row: the map carries 58 enemy camp pins across Palpagos, and only the Sakurajima ones feed this schematic, so filter your route to the island before you start clearing. And be precise about what counts inside a camp — for the heat, cold, plain and helmet versions of Plasteel, both the boss stash and the ordinary camp loot roll a schematic, giving two chances per clear. Here it's the boss stash only, so a camp is worth exactly one roll. Full pin sets for both layers live on the Palworld interactive map.
Why This One Is Rarer Than the Rest of the Set
Five schematic lines make up the Plasteel family, and four of them are generous. The plain body, the helmet, the heat suit and the cold suit each roll from seven pools — oil rigs, Sakurajima chests, camp boss stashes, ordinary camp loot, tier 4 digs, and fishing on both Sakurajima and the Dark Island. Lightweight sits alone on three. If you've been sweeping Sakurajima and watching heat and cold schematics pile up while this one never appears, that gap is the reason, and it isn't bad luck.
| Legendary schematic | Tech | Loot pools | Routes it's missing |
|---|---|---|---|
Plasteel Armor Schematic 4 | 51 | 7 | — (full set) |
Plasteel Helmet Schematic 4 | 51 | 7 | — (full set) |
Heat Resistant Plasteel Armor Schematic 4 | 53 | 7 | — (full set) |
Cold Resistant Plasteel Armor Schematic 4 | 54 | 7 | — (full set) |
Lightweight Plasteel Armor Schematic 4 | 55 | 3 | Chests, camp loot, both fishing pools |
There is a silver lining hiding in the same fact. Because four Plasteel lines all draw from those seven shared pools, each of them is heavily diluted — a Sakurajima chest that could pay a heat schematic could just as easily pay the helmet, the plain body or the cold version. Lightweight competes in a much smaller field: on an oil rig crate it is one of five Plasteel lines, but on a tier 4 dig it faces far less company than a Sakurajima chest ever offers. The practical read is that rig runs and treasure maps are worth more to you than chest sweeps if this is the schematic you actually want. The heat Plasteel schematic guide and the cold Plasteel schematic guide cover the seven-pool side of the family.
No Boss Here, But There Is One Upstairs
Carry weight is the most container-locked passive in the game. Only four pieces of gear in Palworld raise inventory capacity at all, and three of them are body armors on a single ladder. Not one of those three appears in a supply drop, and only the Hexolite tier has a Pal that drops its schematic — which means that if you want a boss you can kill on repeat for a carry-weight body, there is exactly one, and it's ten tech levels above this suit.
| Carry-weight gear | Slot | Tech | Passive rank | Supply drop | Pal source |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Lightweight Ancient Armor | Body | 79 | Rank 4 | None | None — relic recycling and World Tree fishing |
Lightweight Hexolite Armor | Body | 65 | Rank 3 | None | Paladius at 3% |
Lightweight Plasteel Armor | Body | 55 | Rank 3 | None | None |
Feathered Hair Band | Head | 10 | Rank 1 | Grasslands, 0.11% | Penking at 3% |
Paladius is a level 60 alpha with a single fixed spawn, and its 3% is the standard rate every Pal-dropped Legendary schematic in the game shares — eight schematics carry one, and all eight sit at exactly 3%. That fight is a real target once you're past Tech 65, but it does nothing for you at 55. The other useful row is the bottom one: the Feathered Hair Band is a head slot piece, so it stacks with this body armor rather than competing with it, and it costs 10 Fiber and 1 Leather at Tech Lv 10. If carry weight is your bottleneck right now, wear both. Every Alpha Pal and its multipliers is on the Alpha database, and the Alpha hunting route by level covers the order to take them in.
Build It Instead: The Drafting Table Ladder
The Drafting Table unlocks at Technology Lv 45 for 4 Technology Points and merges five identical schematics into one of the next rarity up. On a line with three pools, no boss and no drop rate to chase, combining stops being a fallback and becomes the actual plan. The timing helps: the table lands ten levels before the armor recipe does, so you can be banking rig-crate schematics long before Tech 55 matters.
| Target | Combine cost | Equivalent in Schematic 1s |
|---|---|---|
Schematic 2 | 5× Schematic 1 | 5 |
Schematic 3 | 5× Schematic 2 | 25 |
Schematic 4 (Legendary) | 5× Schematic 3 | 125 |
125 Uncommons is the paper worst case and nobody reaches it honestly — the point of the ladder is to close the last gap when a lucky Epic lands and you're one short. Two rules make it work here. Only combine at the top: hold Schematic 3s until you have all five, and never burn Uncommons early, because on a two-pool line those are the exact rolls you'll wish you had back. And remember tier 4 digs feed the middle of the ladder, not the bottom — every treasure map you cash in can produce a Rare or better but never an Uncommon, which quietly makes digs the most efficient combining fuel on this particular schematic. The table costs 30 Charcoal, 20 Refined Ingot and 10 High Quality Wooden Board; the schematic upgrade guide has the full rules.
How to Craft Lightweight Plasteel Armor
Four materials on the Production Assembly Line II for 400,000 work. The bench isn't the obstacle — it opens thirteen levels before the armor does, and you'll have built it long ago. The real gate is the Electric Furnace at Tech Lv 44, because it smelts both of the heavy lines in this recipe and it is the whole reason a Plasteel suit feels slower to produce than a Pal Metal one.
| Material | Qty | Made at / from |
|---|---|---|
Plasteel | 30 | Electric Furnace (Tech Lv 44) — 2 Crude Oil + 5 Ore each |
Pal Metal Ingot | 30 | Electric Furnace — 4 Ore + 1 Pure Quartz + 2 Paldium Fragment each |
Corrosive Solvent | 8 | Production Assembly Line (Tech Lv 29) — 1 Venom Gland + 1 Sulfur each |
High Quality Cloth | 5 | Tech Lv 36 — 10 Wool + 1 Leather each |
Trace all four lines down to things you mine, shear, buy or pull off a corpse and one suit comes to 491 raw units — marginally leaner than the heat and cold variants at 495, which is a genuinely surprising result for the version that carries the most useful passive. The line that dominates everything else is 270 Ore, split 150 for the Plasteel and 120 for the ingots, and it's the single best reason to have a Mining team parked on a node cluster before you start. The 60 Crude Oil is the second worry, since it's the only material here you can't dig out of the ground: run an Oil Extractor, raid a rig, or bank the 30-40 that every Sakurajima supply drop pays at 100%.
| Raw material | Total for one suit | Where to get it |
|---|---|---|
Ore | 270 | 1,632 nodes |
Crude Oil | 60 | 185 oil fields · 100% from six supply regions, up to 30-40 on Sakurajima |
Paldium Fragment | 60 | 711 nodes |
Wool | 50 | Kingpaca 5 · Sweepa 3-5 · Melpaca 2-5, all 100% |
Pure Quartz | 30 | 607 nodes |
Venom Gland | 8 | Dark Pals at 100%, shops at 300 Gold, or a ranch — see below |
Sulfur | 8 | 655 nodes · Pierdon pays 4-5 at 100% |
Leather | 5 | Mammorest pays 5-10 at 100% |
Now the warning that decides how long this actually takes: the work cost isn't at the bench. The armor itself is 400,000 work, but smelting a single Plasteel is 200,000 — 6,000,000 on its own — plus 1,500,000 for the ingots, 120,000 for the solvent and 12,500 for the cloth. End to end one suit is roughly 8.03 million work units, and three quarters of that is Plasteel. The fix is never a bigger assembly line; it's more Kindling Pals on the Electric Furnace, and starting the smelt before you go schematic hunting rather than after. The best base Pals for every job covers who to station where.
Eight Corrosive Solvent, the Easy Way
Here's the part most people never notice: you already own this unlock. Corrosive Solvent sits at Tech Lv 37 for 2 points, and the Production Assembly Line II you have to build to craft the armor at all costs 5 Corrosive Solvent — so by the time this recipe is even visible, the node is bought and the bench is standing. Compare that with the cold suit, whose Cryogenic Coolant is a genuine extra tech purchase for most players. Each solvent is one Venom Gland plus one Sulfur at 15,000 work, so eight of them is 8 of each and 120,000 work.
| Pal | Venom Gland per kill | Wild spots | Why pick it |
|---|---|---|---|
Menasting | 5-10 | 545 | One kill can finish the recipe — best payout with real availability |
Shroomer Noct | 4-8 | 189 | Second-best roll, and it also pays out in daylight |
Prixter | 4-5 | 70 | Flat 4-5 with no low roll, but a thin spawn list |
Croajiro Noct | 2-4 | 645 | The best mix of payout and density on the list |
Killamari | 2-4 | 361 | 361 spots at night against 201 by day |
Ghangler | 2-4 | 316 | Night crowd — 316 after dark, 82 in daylight |
Depresso | 2-3 | 406 | Night only, but it also produces Venom Gland on a ranch |
Helzephyr | 1-3 | 1,109 | Everywhere after dark, weak per-kill roll |
Cawgnito | 2 | 1,463 | The volume king — more night spawns than anything else here |
One [[pal:DarkScorpion|Menasting]] can cover the entire recipe on a good roll, and with 545 spawn points it isn't a Pal you have to go hunting for. Below it the list splits cleanly into payout and volume: Croajiro Noct is the sweet spot at 2-4 across 645 spots, while Cawgnito hands you a guaranteed 2 from 1,463 night spawns. There's a targeting shortcut in all of this too — 16 of the 17 Pals that drop Venom Gland carry the Dark element (Carnibora is the lone Grass exception), so anything you kill at night in Dark territory is probably paying you solvent whether you meant it to or not.
| Non-combat source | Pays | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Shops | 300 Gold each | 8 glands = 2,400 Gold at Caravan, Dungeon and Village shops |
| Ranch | Passive | Depresso · Caprity Noct both produce Venom Gland |
| Ancient Feybreak Ruins | 10-20 Venom Gland | Very Hard expedition, 120 minutes, runs while you play |
| Sulfur nodes | Mined | 655 nodes across Palpagos — Sulfur is not sold anywhere |
| Blazing Cavern | 20-40 Sulfur | Normal expedition, only 45 minutes — the fastest Sulfur in the game |
| Mount Obsidian field drops | 1-3 Sulfur | Picked up as you walk the volcano |
The honest answer for most players is buy the glands and mine the Sulfur. 2,400 Gold is a rounding error at Tech 55, and it deletes the whole combat half of this material — but Sulfur has no vendor at all, so the 655 map nodes or a 45-minute Blazing Cavern run are your only options there. Two expeditions solve both halves in the background if you'd rather not move: Blazing Cavern for the Sulfur and Ancient Feybreak Ruins for the glands, both ticking away while you farm rigs for the schematic. The full expedition list and payouts is on the expeditions page, and what to buy from merchants covers which vendors are worth a standing visit.
Can You Even Build It Yet?
Technology Lv 55 is the headline gate, but seven supporting nodes sit under it and two of them need electricity. Work down this checklist before you go schematic hunting, because a Legendary schematic in your bag does nothing until the furnace, both benches and the ore chain exist to feed it. Altogether the nodes below come to 30 Technology Points, every one of them the ordinary kind rather than the Ancient points you pry out of tower bosses.
| Requirement | Unlocks at | Why you need it |
|---|---|---|
| Production Assembly Line | Tech Lv 29, 3 points | Where the Corrosive Solvent is actually made |
| Cryogenic Coolant | Tech Lv 31, 2 points | Not in the recipe — but 10 are needed to build the furnace below |
| High Quality Cloth | Tech Lv 36, 2 points | 5 per suit |
| Corrosive Solvent | Tech Lv 37, 2 points | 8 per suit — and 5 more just to build the bench |
| Production Assembly Line II | Tech Lv 42, 5 points | The bench the armor is built on — 100 Refined Ingot + 30 Cement + 10 Circuit Board + 5 Corrosive Solvent |
| Electric Furnace | Tech Lv 44, 5 points | The real gate — both metal lines — 50 Refined Ingot + 20 Polymer + 10 Cryogenic Coolant + 4 Bio Battery |
| Drafting Table | Tech Lv 45, 4 points | Combining schematics upward — ten levels before the armor |
| Plasteel | Tech Lv 50, 2 points | 30 per suit |
| Lightweight Plasteel Armor | Tech Lv 55, 5 points | The recipe itself |
Two rows catch people out. First the coolant trap: the Electric Furnace costs 10 Cryogenic Coolant to build, so the Tech 31 node is compulsory even though this armor never uses a drop of coolant in its recipe. Second, notice how far down the Corrosive Solvent node sits — Tech 37, eighteen levels before the armor — which is why the extra material on this variant costs you nothing in tech points you weren't already spending. The full tree is on the Palworld technology page, and the best research to rush covers the order to unlock it in.
Lightweight vs the Rest of the Plasteel Set
Four body armors and one helmet make up the Plasteel set across five tech levels, and the three specialised bodies are stat-identical at 400 / 1,300 / 18,000. What separates them is entirely the passive line and the fourth material, which makes this a pick-by-need decision rather than a pick-by-number one. The plain body is the only one that gives up defence, and only 15 of it — which is exactly why the Lightweight version reads as a free upgrade over it.
| Piece | Tech | Defence | HP | Durability | Passives | Extra material |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Plasteel Armor | 51 | 385 | 1,300 | 18,000 | Cold 1 · Heat 1 | — |
Plasteel Helmet | 51 | 260 | 600 | 18,000 | — | — (head slot) |
Heat Resistant Plasteel Armor | 53 | 400 | 1,300 | 18,000 | Heat 2 · Cold 1 · Fire cut | 20 Flame Organ |
Cold Resistant Plasteel Armor | 54 | 400 | 1,300 | 18,000 | Cold 2 · Heat 1 · Ice cut | 10 Cryogenic Coolant |
Lightweight Plasteel Armor | 55 | 400 | 1,300 | 18,000 | Carry weight 3 · Cold 1 · Heat 1 | 8 Corrosive Solvent |
The decision comes down to where you spend your play time. If you're mining, hauling or base-building, Lightweight is the correct body and it isn't close — nothing else at this tier touches inventory capacity, and the two temperature rungs it gives up are Heat 2 and Cold 2, both of which the Tech 9 Tropical Outfit and its cold twin already provide for almost no weight. If you're pushing Mount Obsidian or the volcanic half of Sakurajima, take the heat suit, because a temperature rating you can't survive without beats a capacity bonus you can work around. There is no version at this tier that carries both, unlike the Hexolite armors ten levels up where the lightweight body also gets Heat 2 and Cold 2 — which is the strongest single argument for eventually climbing to the Hexolite tier. Every armor piece in the game is compared on the armor database.
What the Legendary Version Actually Gains
Rarity raises the crafted armor's numbers, and Pal Metal Armor is the one body-armor family whose five rarity steps are all laid out in the game to be read. It climbs 220 → 286 → 308 → 330 → 352 defence and 750 → 975 → 1,050 → 1,125 → 1,200 HP — ×1.3, ×1.4, ×1.5 and ×1.6 of base on both stats — while durability runs harder still, from 5,000 to 26,000. Pocketpair has never published the multipliers, so apply that same curve to 400 and 1,300 and read the right-hand columns as close estimates rather than measurements.
| Rarity | Pal Metal defence (measured) | HP | Durability | Lightweight Plasteel defence (estimated) | HP (estimated) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Common | 220 | 750 | 5,000 | 400 | 1,300 |
| Uncommon | 286 | 975 | 14,000 | ~520 | ~1,690 |
| Rare | 308 | 1,050 | 18,000 | ~560 | ~1,820 |
| Epic | 330 | 1,125 | 22,000 | ~600 | ~1,950 |
| Legendary | 352 | 1,200 | 26,000 | ~640 | ~2,080 |
400 and 1,300 are the only certain figures in that table — the rest is the measured line's own curve applied to this suit, and the carry-weight passive does not move at all with rarity. The shape is still the pitch, though. At an estimated ~640 defence, a Legendary Lightweight Plasteel Armor at Tech Lv 55 would out-armor a Common Lightweight Hexolite Armor at Tech Lv 65 while granting the identical rank 3 capacity bonus — ten tech levels, a Gigantic Furnace and 100 Hexolite Quartz per suit, skipped. Budget for the recipe growing, though: on the Pal Metal line the Legendary version doubles the ingots to 40, adds 5 Ancient Civilization Parts and takes the work from 150,000 to 4,800,000. The schematic is the start of the job, not the end of it.
The Short Answer
No boss, no supply drop, and only three loot pools: oil rig crates, Sakurajima enemy camp boss stashes, and tier 4 treasure map digs — the last of which doesn't stock the Uncommon tier, so digs feed the middle of the ladder rather than the bottom. That's less than half the routes every other Plasteel schematic gets, so bank every tier you find and combine five-into-one at the Drafting Table from Tech Lv 45. Build the Common version the moment you hit Tech Lv 55 — 270 Ore, 60 Crude Oil, 60 Paldium Fragment, 50 Wool, 30 Pure Quartz, 8 Venom Gland, 8 Sulfur and 5 Leather — buy the glands for 2,400 Gold rather than farming them, start the Plasteel smelting early because it's three quarters of the 8.03 million work, and remember the rank 3 carry bonus is identical at every rarity, so the suit you're wearing tonight holds exactly as much as the schematic you haven't found.
