Tactical Grenade Launcher Schematic Location and Stats
Where every Tactical Grenade Launcher schematic drops in Palworld — Sky Island supply drop odds for all four tiers down to 0.06% on the Legendary, the 6,722 Base Attack and 8-round magazine that make it the class burst king, the full craft cost, and the Drafting Table shortcut.

The Tactical Grenade Launcher is the Sunreach-tier explosive — 6,722 Base Attack with eight rounds in the tube, which is more damage per magazine than any other launcher in Palworld. This guide covers every schematic tier and exactly where it drops, the real odds on the Legendary one, the full stat card, what a single craft costs in raw materials, and the Drafting Table route if the loot gods never cooperate.
Tactical Grenade Launcher Stats
This is a Sky Island weapon through and through: it unlocks at Technology Lv 72, it's built at the Ancient Workbench, and every material in its recipe traces back to Sunreach. The number that defines it isn't the attack figure — it's the 8-round magazine, which is four times what the ordinary Grenade Launcher holds and eight times what a Rocket Launcher holds. Explosive attack values only make sense against other explosives, so treat 6,722 as a launcher-class number and not something to line up next to a rifle.
| Stat | Tactical Grenade Launcher |
|---|---|
| Weapon class | Rocket Launcher |
| Base Attack | 6,722 |
| Magazine | 8 — the largest of any launcher |
| Durability | 800 |
| Weight | 30 |
| Technology level | Lv 72, 5 Technology Points |
| Crafting station | Ancient Workbench (unlocks at Lv 67) |
| Ammo | Tactical Grenade Launcher Ammo — Lv 72, 2 points |
| Legendary schematic | Tactical Grenade Launcher Schematic 4 |
| Best published drop chance | 0.06% per Sky Island supply drop |
The in-game description sells it on trajectory stability for precise long-range bombing, and that lines up with how it plays: a grenade arc you can actually place, fired eight times before you reload. The 800 durability backs that up — every launcher below it in the tech tree sits at 300 except the base Grenade Launcher at 600, so this is a weapon designed to be fired in volume rather than saved for one shot.
Where the Legendary Schematic Drops
All four tiers live in Sky Island content and nowhere else — there's no merchant selling them, no expedition that pays one out, and no boss with it on their table. That narrows the hunt considerably. Supply drops are the only source with a published number attached, and the falloff between tiers is brutal: roughly a fifth of the previous chance at every step, ending at 0.06% for the Legendary. That's about one in 1,700 drops.
| Schematic | Crafts | Sky Island supply drop | Also drops from |
|---|---|---|---|
Schematic 1 | Uncommon | 6.97% | Sky Island treasure chests · ordinary Sky Island chests · enemy camp boss stashes · Sky Island fishing |
Schematic 2 | Rare | 1.39% | Sky Island treasure chests · enemy camp boss stashes · tier 5 treasure map digs · Sky Island fishing |
Schematic 3 | Epic | 0.28% | Sky Island treasure chests · enemy camp boss stashes · tier 5 treasure map digs · Sky Island fishing |
Schematic 4 | Legendary | 0.06% | Sky Island treasure chests · enemy camp boss stashes · tier 5 treasure map digs · Sky Island fishing |
Read the last column carefully, because there's a real difference hiding in it. Schematic 1 is the only tier that ordinary Sky Island chests can hand you — from Schematic 2 upward, that slot is replaced by tier 5 treasure map digs. So a casual chest-cracking loop through Sunreach floods you with Schematic 1s and will never once produce the Legendary, while treasure maps are the source that actually has all three upper tiers in its table. Since every schematic in the game uses the same rolled-scroll icon in your bag, the pictures above show each tier's own art rather than the gun, which is the only way to tell them apart at a glance.
Sky Island Supply Drops
Supply drops are the farm to build a route around, because they're repeatable, they're free, and the whole pool is worth collecting anyway. Every Sky Island drop guarantees 30-40 [[item:SkyIslandOre|Soralite]] — the exact material this weapon eats by the hundred — and coin-flips on Sol Spheres and Ancient Spheres on top. The schematic is the lottery ticket stapled to a delivery you already wanted. Full pools for every region are on the supply drops page.
| What's in a Sky Island drop | Chance | Amount |
|---|---|---|
Soralite | 100% | 30-40 |
Sol Sphere | 50% | 5-10 |
Ancient Sphere | 50% | 5-10 |
Heavy Assault Rifle Schematic 1 | 27.87% | 1 |
Ancient Armor Schematic 1 | 17.42% | 1 |
Rocket Launcher Schematic 1 | 10.45% | 1 |
Tactical Grenade Launcher Schematic 1 | 6.97% | 1 |
Tactical Grenade Launcher Schematic 2 | 1.39% | 1 |
Tactical Grenade Launcher Schematic 3 | 0.28% | 1 |
Tactical Grenade Launcher Schematic 4 | 0.06% | 1 |
The twelve Applied Handbooks sit in the same pool at 8.33% each, which is worth knowing before you decide supply drops aren't worth the trip. Between guaranteed Soralite, endgame spheres and a real shot at a permanent +1 work suitability book, the launcher schematic is the least likely thing you'll pull and still the reason to keep pulling.
Sky Island Chests, Camps, Fishing and Treasure Maps
The other four sources aren't rolled on a timer, so they're what you clear between drops. Sky Island treasure chests carry every tier including the Legendary, and there are only 76 of them on the whole map — a short enough list to actually run as a circuit. Enemy camp boss stashes are the reward chest at the end of a camp clear rather than the loose crates inside it, so don't stop at the tents. Fishing in the Sky Island is the most repeatable of the four, and it pays 18-29 Soralite alongside. Tier 5 treasure map digs are the pool that matters most for the top three tiers, since they're the only non-supply source those tiers share.
Map views worth having open for a Sunreach run:
- All 76 Sky Island treasure chests — the only static source of the Legendary
- 574 Sky Island loot caches, for Soralite field drops while you walk between chests
- All 58 enemy camps — clear to the boss stash, not just the tents
- 367 fishing spots and 102 rare spots, the repeatable pool
- 226 Soralite nodes, for when you have the schematic and need to pay for it
Build It Instead: The Drafting Table Route
You don't have to wait for a 0.06% roll. The Drafting Table, unlocked at Technology Lv 45 for 4 Technology Points, combines five identical schematics into one of the next rarity — and the Tactical Grenade Launcher line supports the full ladder, all the way to Schematic 4. Given that Schematic 1 falls out of supply drops at 6.97% and out of ordinary Sky Island chests on top of that, this is the realistic path. The trap is combining from the bottom the moment you can: climb one step at a time and only when you're holding five of the *highest* tier you own.
| Target | Combine cost | Equivalent in Schematic 1s |
|---|---|---|
Schematic 2 | 5× Schematic 1 | 5 |
Schematic 3 | 5× Schematic 2 | 25 |
Schematic 4 (Legendary) | 5× Schematic 3 | 125 |
125 Schematic 1s is a lot of supply drops, but you're never paying that price in practice — Schematic 2 and 3 drop on their own, so most people arrive at the Legendary by pulling a fourth and fifth Schematic 3 out of treasure maps and finishing the job at the bench. The schematic upgrade guide covers the combine rules in full, including the 24 lines that have no recipe at all.
How to Craft the Tactical Grenade Launcher
Whichever schematic tier you're holding, the recipe is the same four materials at the Ancient Workbench. It's a 3,500,000-work job, so park your best Handiwork Pals on it and expect it to take a while. Nothing here is a field pickup — every line is a processed material with its own station behind it.
| Material | Qty | Made at | From |
|---|---|---|---|
Soralite Ingot | 80 | Ancient Furnace (Tech Lv 66) | 2 Soralite + 2 Pure Quartz each |
Corrosive Solvent | 15 | Production Assembly Line (Tech Lv 29) | 1 Venom Gland + 1 Sulfur each |
Thermal Core | 5 | Production Assembly Line II (Tech Lv 42) | 2 Corrosive Solvent + 2 Hexolite each |
AI Core | 5 | Advanced Workshop (Tech Lv 62) | 10 Soralite Ingot + 2 Thermal Core + 1 Ancient Civilization Core each |
That AI Core row is where the real cost hides. Five of them quietly add 50 more Soralite Ingots and 10 more Thermal Cores on top of what the launcher itself lists, which roughly doubles the ore bill. Chase the whole tree down to raw materials and one Tactical Grenade Launcher works out to:
| Raw material | Total for one launcher | Where to get it |
|---|---|---|
Soralite | 260 | 226 nodes · every Sky Island supply drop · Sunreach expeditions |
Pure Quartz | 260 | 607 nodes · Astral Frost Cavern expedition |
Venom Gland | 45 | Poison-type Pals — table below |
Sulfur | 45 | 655 nodes · Blazing Cavern expedition |
Hexolite | 30 | Gigantic Furnace — 1 Chromite + 1 Hexolite Quartz each |
Ancient Civilization Core | 5 | Core farming guide |
520 combined ore-and-quartz pulls is the wall most players hit, and it's why the expedition board beats swinging a pickaxe here. Sunreach Isle is a Hard 60-minute run that pays 30-50 Soralite a trip, and the Very Hard Sunreach Dragon Husk adds 10-20 more; queue both while you're out doing anything else and the ore bill takes care of itself. Pure Quartz has 607 nodes on the map and shows up 20-40 at a time from the Astral Frost Cavern expedition.
Fastest Venom Gland Farm
45 Venom Glands sounds worse than it is, because the top droppers hand them over at 100% every kill and several of them are common field spawns. Menasting is the clear pick at 5-10 per kill — five or six of them covers the entire launcher. Shroomer Noct is the next best at 4-8 and is easier to find in bulk, and Prixter is the reliable desert option. Every one of these also feeds the rest of your organ stockpile, so it's rarely a dedicated trip.
| Pal | Venom Glands per kill | Drop rate |
|---|---|---|
Menasting | 5-10 | 100% |
Shroomer Noct | 4-8 | 100% |
Prixter | 4-5 | 100% |
Tarantriss | 2-5 | 100% |
Can You Even Build It Yet?
Technology Lv 72 is the headline requirement, but it isn't the one that stops people. Four separate stations sit between you and a finished launcher, and the two that matter — the Ancient Furnace and the Ancient Workbench — are themselves late unlocks with heavy build costs. Work down this list before you go schematic hunting, because a Legendary schematic in your bag does nothing at all until the bench exists.
| Requirement | Unlocks at | Why you need it |
|---|---|---|
| Production Assembly Line | Tech Lv 29 | Corrosive Solvent |
| Production Assembly Line II | Tech Lv 42 | Thermal Core |
| Drafting Table | Tech Lv 45, 4 points | Combining schematics upward |
| Advanced Workshop | Tech Lv 62 | AI Core |
| Ancient Furnace | Tech Lv 66 | Soralite Ingot — 100 Coralum Ingot, 20 Thermal Core, 30 Computer, 10 Ancient Civilization Core to build |
| Ancient Workbench | Tech Lv 67 | The launcher and its ammo — 50 Soralite Ingot, 5 AI Core, 20 Bio Battery to build |
| Tactical Grenade Launcher | Tech Lv 72, 5 points | The weapon recipe itself |
| Tactical Grenade Launcher Ammo | Tech Lv 72, 2 points | Something to fire |
Seven Technology Points at Lv 72 covers the gun and the ammo together, and both nodes are ordinary Technology Points rather than the Ancient kind you pry out of tower bosses. The Ancient Workbench at Lv 67 is the genuine gate — it wants 5 AI Cores just to exist, which means you've already built the Advanced Workshop and sourced Ancient Civilization Cores before the launcher is even on the table.
How It Compares to Every Other Launcher
Ranked on raw attack the Tactical Grenade Launcher looks mid-table, sitting behind the Beam Launcher, the Rocket Launcher and the Plasma Cannon. Rank the class on damage per magazine instead and it isn't close — eight rounds at 6,722 apiece is 53,776 before you reload, more than double the next best. These numbers are only meaningful against each other; a launcher's attack figure and a rifle's are computed against completely different fire rates.
| Launcher | Tech | Base Attack | Magazine | Durability | Damage per magazine |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Beam Launcher | 80 | 14,000 | — | 3,500 | — |
Rocket Launcher | 65 | 10,000 | 1 | 300 | 10,000 |
Plasma Cannon | 61 | 10,000 | 2 | 300 | 20,000 |
Tactical Grenade Launcher | 72 | 6,722 | 8 | 800 | 53,776 |
Guided Missile Launcher | 56 | 5,900 | 1 | 300 | 5,900 |
Multi Guided Missile Launcher | — | 5,900 | 4 | 300 | 23,600 |
Grenade Launcher | 53 | 3,000 | 5 | 600 | 15,000 |
Meteor Launcher | 38 | 2,000 | 1 | 300 | 2,000 |
So the pick depends entirely on what you're shooting. Against a single target that dies to one enormous hit, the Beam Launcher at Tech 80 is the finisher and its 3,500 durability means it lasts forever. Against anything that takes sustained work — a boss health bar, a camp full of bodies, a raid — the Tactical Grenade Launcher wins on volume, and it does it a full eight tech levels earlier. The Multi Guided Missile Launcher is the odd one out: no technology node unlocks it, so it isn't part of anyone's progression plan.
What a Legendary Version Actually Gains
Schematic rarity raises the crafted weapon's stats, and the Rocket Launcher is the one launcher whose five rarity tiers are laid out end to end: 10,000 attack at Common, then 11,000, 12,000, 13,000 and 14,000 at Legendary, with durability climbing from 300 to 1,400 alongside it. That's a flat +10% of base per step, +40% at the top. Pocketpair has never published the per-rarity multipliers, so apply that same curve to 6,722 and treat the result — somewhere around 9,400 attack — as a close estimate rather than a printed number. The 6,722 base is the only figure here that's certain.
Ammo and Running Costs
An eight-round magazine is only an advantage if you can feed it, and this is the part people underestimate. Tactical Grenade Launcher Ammo costs 4 Soralite Ingots and 10 Gunpowder for a batch of 10 — which is 8 more Soralite and 8 Pure Quartz per batch once you trace the ingots back. Firing this thing casually will eat your Sunreach ore faster than crafting it did.
| Ammo | Recipe | Per craft | Station | Unlock |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Tactical Grenade Launcher Ammo | 4 Soralite Ingot + 10 Gunpowder | 10 | Ancient Workbench | Tech Lv 72, 2 points |
| Sunreach Single-Shot Ammo | 2 Soralite Ingot | 10 | — | No technology node |
The second row is the interesting one: Sunreach Single-Shot Ammo names the Tactical Grenade Launcher directly in its description and costs half as much, but it has no technology node anywhere in the tree — so the crafted Tactical Grenade Launcher Ammo is the one you'll actually be producing. Everything else this ammo touches is listed on the ammo database.
The Short Answer
Farm Sky Island supply drops. Schematic 1 comes off them at 6.97% and the Legendary at 0.06%, and every drop pays 30-40 Soralite regardless, which is the material you need anyway. Craft the Uncommon version the moment you hit Tech Lv 72 so you're actually shooting something, run the 76 Sky Island treasure chests and tier 5 treasure map digs for the upper tiers, and finish the Legendary at the Drafting Table with five Schematic 3s rather than praying for the 0.06%. One launcher costs 260 Soralite, 260 Pure Quartz, 45 Venom Glands, 45 Sulfur, 30 Hexolite and 5 Ancient Civilization Cores — queue the Sunreach expeditions early.
