All Pal Skins: Full List and How to Get Every Skin — Palworld Database

Pal skins are alternate looks you drop onto a Pal you already own, and there are 22 of them spread across just 16 of the game's 288 Pals. This guide lists every skin with its art and the update it arrived in, shows which Pals you have to catch before a skin is any use, covers the one costume you have to earn instead of receive, and runs through applying them at the Pal Dressing Facility.

Pal Skins at a Glance

Skins are the only cosmetic system in Palworld that touches your Pals rather than your character, and the whole thing is deliberately small. Sixteen Pals have at least one, which is 5.6% of the Paldeck — the other 272 species have nothing to wear. Nineteen of the 22 simply appear in your account the moment you patch the game, so if you have played since launch you almost certainly own skins you have never looked at.

The important line in that table is the stats one. A skin is paint and nothing else, so a Jetragon in the Cyber look still hits the same 3,300 ride sprint that makes it the fastest mount in the game, and a Frostallion in Royal white keeps every point of the Ice attack that makes it worth fielding. Nobody has to weigh looks against performance here, which is why the sensible play is to build the facility early and dress whatever you happen to be using.

All 22 Pal Skins

Here is the complete set, ordered by Paldeck number so the multi-skin Pals sit together. Chillet is the clear favourite with four looks and its Fire variant carries two more, which means Chillet and Chillet Ignis account for six of the 22 between them. At the other end, twelve Pals have exactly one skin and will probably never get a second.

A pattern worth noticing: the skins cluster around Pals people actually keep in their party for hundreds of hours. Cattiva is the Paldeck's second entry and the first Pal most players ever catch, Chillet is an early flying mount, and the tail end of the list is Shadowbeak, Frostallion and Jetragon — the three endgame flyers. There is no skin anywhere in the middle of the Paldeck for a Pal you only ever use as a base worker.

Every Pal Skin by Update

Skins arrive in batches tied to a season or a major patch, which is why five of them are seasonal costumes and five more are Lunar New Year looks. The single biggest drop was version 0.4.11, the Feybreak update, which added nine skins in one go — more than the previous two years of patches combined. If you started playing recently, everything below 0.6.0 was already waiting in your account the first time you built the facility.

VersionSkins addedWhat arrived
0.3.11Sunglasses Cattiva — the first Pal skin in the game
0.3.104The Halloween batch: Halloween Cattiva, Halloween Croajiro, Pirate Pengullet, Spectacled Katress
0.4.119The Feybreak update batch: Summer and Winter Style Chillet, Winter Style Chillet Ignis, Golden Relaxaurus, Sailor Quivern, Pudding à la Gumoss, Party Night Depresso, Royal Frostallion, White Shadowbeak
0.4.145The Lunar New Year batch: Lucky Cattiva, Lion-Dancer Chillet, Lion-Dancer Chillet Ignis, Fortune-Bringer Lyleen, Fortune-Bringer Lyleen Noct
0.6.03Crown Chillet, Desert King Anubis, Cyber Jetragon
0.6.81Zoe's Halloween Costume — the outlier, covered below

The 0.4.14 group is the one to watch if you are chasing a matching set, because it dressed both halves of two variant pairs at once: Chillet and Chillet Ignis got the same Lion-Dancer costume, and Lyleen and Lyleen Noct both got Fortune-Bringer. That is the only time the game has bothered to skin a Pal and its alternate form in the same patch, and it means a Lyleen and a Lyleen Noct standing together at your base can actually be colour-coordinated.

The Three Skins That Started Outside the Game

Nineteen of the 22 are pure patch handouts. Three are not: Summer Chillet, Golden Relaxaurus and Sailor Quivern were tied to a platform giveaway rather than to the update itself, and Golden Relaxaurus and Sailor Quivern in particular started out as limited-time Twitch drop rewards that only viewers could claim. Both have since been opened up to everyone, so if you missed the original window you have not lost anything permanently — this is one of the few Palworld cosmetics that came back.

SkinPalHow it originally arrivedAvailable now

Golden RelaxaurusRelaxaurusTwitch drop, limited windowYes — opened to all players
Sailor QuivernQuivernTwitch drop, limited windowYes — opened to all players

The Pal Dressing Facility tells you this split itself. Its in-game description reads "Skins obtained inside and outside the game can be applied here!", which is the game quietly acknowledging that some of your wardrobe comes from a patch and some of it comes from a promotion. In practice the menu makes no distinction — a Twitch-origin skin sits in the same list as a patch one and applies exactly the same way.

Zoe's Halloween Costume and Grizzbolt

Version 0.6.8 added a costume that breaks every rule above. It is not for a Pal in your box, it is not handed to you for patching, and it dresses a character rather than a species: it puts a Halloween outfit on Zoe, the Rayne Syndicate tower boss, with a matching version for her and Grizzbolt together. You earn it through the sidequest Happy Halloween!, which is why it never shows up in your Pal Dressing Facility list next to the other 22.

StepWhat you need
Get the planZoe's Halloween Costume Schematic — described in-game as "a memo of Zoe's mutterings"
Craft the outfitZoe's Halloween Costume at a workbench
Materials5 Cloth + 5 Leather
Crafting workload5,000 — roughly the same effort as a mid-tier weapon, so put a Handiwork Pal on it
Hand it overDeliver the finished costume to Zoe to complete Happy Halloween!

The material cost is trivial by the time you can reach Zoe — 5 Cloth and 5 Leather is a couple of minutes at a Primitive Workbench with wool and pelts you already have. The 5,000 workload is the real cost, so start it and walk away rather than hammering it out yourself. If you are still working through her fight, the team and drops are covered in our Hard Mode Zoe and Grizzbolt guide.

How to Get and Apply a Pal Skin

There is no hunting involved for the main 22 — owning them is automatic. The only thing standing between you and a dressed Pal is one technology point and twenty units of the two most common materials in the game, which is a first-hour purchase rather than an endgame project. Unlock the Pal Dressing Facility at technology level 2, build it inside your base radius from the Pal tab, and the skins you already own appear the moment you interact with it.

RequirementDetailWhere to get it
Technology levelLv. 2, costs 1 technology pointOne point per character level — you will have spares
Stone10Any rock. 8,157 Rock and 4,286 Small Rock nodes are marked on the Palworld interactive map
Paldium Fragment10711 Paldium Ore nodes on the Paldium Ore map layer, or buy it from wandering merchants
PowerNoneIt never needs a generator or a worker
The Pal itselfCaptured, in your party or PalboxWild Pals cannot be dressed

Applying is four clicks. Interact with the facility, pick the species, pick the Pal, pick the skin, confirm. The one thing worth knowing before you start swapping is what the confirmation window is warning you about: overwriting or removing a skin you do not actually own — one that was already applied to a Pal someone traded or gifted you — cannot be undone. On your own patch-granted skins that risk does not exist, because the skin stays in your list forever and you can put it straight back on.

Every Pal You Need to Catch First

A skin is worthless until you own the Pal that wears it, and the 16 on this list are wildly uneven in how hard they are to get. Eleven of them turn up in the open world in decent numbers — Pengullet alone has 1,125 marked spawn spots — but the two most striking skins in the game belong to Pals with zero wild spawns. Frostallion and Jetragon exist only as fixed level 60 and level 70 alphas, so Royal Frostallion and Cyber Jetragon sit in your list unusable until you beat them.

PalPaldeckSkinsSpawn spotsHow to get it
Cattiva#23367Everywhere near the starting area — Cattiva spawn map
Croajiro#91667Common early-game catch — Croajiro spawn map
Gumoss#121113Also a level 11 alpha — Gumoss spawn map
Depresso#161406Night only, never spawns in daylight — Depresso spawn map
Pengullet#1711,125The most common Pal on this list — Pengullet spawn map
Katress#791605Heavily a night spawn; only 45 daytime spots — Katress spawn map
Relaxaurus#94138Scarce — Relaxaurus spawn map
Chillet#1034117Also a level 11 alpha — Chillet spawn map
Chillet Ignis#103B252Volcanic ground only — Chillet Ignis spawn map
Quivern#1241423Plentiful once you can fly — Quivern spawn map
Anubis#139135Rare, plus a level 55 alpha — Anubis spawn map
Lyleen#186142Rare, plus a level 58 alpha — Lyleen spawn map
Lyleen Noct#186B142Rare, plus a level 58 alpha — Lyleen Noct spawn map
Shadowbeak#189111Only 11 spots in the whole game — Shadowbeak spawn map
Frostallion#20010No wild spawns at all — level 60 alpha only
Jetragon#20210No wild spawns at all — level 70 alpha only

If you want the fastest route to actually wearing something, start with Cattiva. It has three skins, 367 spawn spots, and you almost certainly caught one in your first ten minutes — three of the 22 unlocked for zero effort. Shadowbeak is the sneaky-hard one on this list: it is catchable in the wild rather than a fixed alpha, but with only 11 marked spots it is scarcer than Anubis or Lyleen and people routinely assume White Shadowbeak is broken when they simply have not found one yet.

TipBuild the Pal Dressing Facility on your first base even if you think you own nothing. Nineteen skins are granted silently when you patch — no notification, no item in your inventory — so the only way to find out what you have is to walk up to the facility and open the menu. It costs one technology point, 10 Stone and 10 Paldium Fragment, and it draws no power forever after.

Unused Pal Skin Slots

Beyond the 22 you can wear, the game reserves five more skin slots that have never been filled. Four are second slots on Pals that already have a skin, but one belongs to Orserk — a Pal with a reserved costume slot and nothing to put in it, which makes it the most likely candidate for the next skin the game hands out. Treat this section as a curiosity rather than a checklist: none of these are obtainable, and Pocketpair has never said whether they will be.

PalPaldeckElementStatus
Frostallion#200IceA second slot named Noble Frostallion — named but never handed out, and no art has ever shipped for it
Cattiva#2NeutralA fourth slot with no name and nothing to apply
Depresso#16DarkA second slot with no name and nothing to apply
Lyleen#186GrassAn earlier slot that was skipped when Fortune-Bringer Lyleen shipped
Orserk#187Dragon / ElectricThe only Pal with a reserved slot and no released skin at all

Frostallion is the interesting one. Its released skin is Royal Frostallion, but the game also carries a separate Noble Frostallion entry that nobody has ever been given — which suggests the Ice legendary was originally planned for two looks rather than one. Since Frostallion is already the rarest Pal on the skin list at zero wild spawns, a second costume for it would be a strange thing to gate behind that fight twice.

Summary

There are 22 Pal skins across 16 Pals. Nineteen appear in your account automatically when you update the game, three (Summer Chillet, Golden Relaxaurus, Sailor Quivern) began as platform giveaways and are now open to everyone, and a 23rd costume dresses Zoe rather than a Pal and has to be crafted from 5 Cloth and 5 Leather for the Happy Halloween! sidequest. Build the Pal Dressing Facility at technology level 2 for 10 Stone and 10 Paldium Fragment, catch the Pal, and apply whatever you like — nothing you put on changes a single stat.
