List of Water Skill Fruits: Stats and How to Get Them
All 12 Water Skill Fruits in Palworld with the power, cooldown and damage per second of the skill each one teaches, plus Arena Shop ticket prices, Gold prices, chest odds region by region, and which Pals learn the move for free.

There are 12 Water Skill Fruits in Palworld, and any Pal can eat any of them — element and level don't matter. This guide lists all 12 with the power, cooldown and damage per second of the skill they teach, the exact Battle Ticket and Gold prices, the drop chance out of every chest type that carries them, and which Pals already learn the move for free.
Water Skill Fruits at a Glance
Water sits third on volume behind Electric and Dark, and its shape is unusual: 5 of the 12 fruits are Rare, which is a heavier top end than most elements manage. The single fact that separates Water from every other element is the attack class. Eleven of the twelve teach a Shot skill, but Geyser Gush is Melee — the element's strongest fruit scales off a stat none of the others touch. Keep that in mind before you commit 45 Battle Tickets to it.

All 12 Water Skill Fruits
Palworld has 29 Water attacks in total and only these 12 exist as fruit. The other 17 are out of reach: 16 are signature skills locked to a single Pal — Panthalus alone hoards seven of them — and Ink Jet is level-up only. So this table is the entire Water toolkit you can actually put on a Pal of your choosing. Power runs 40 to 600, but buying by power alone is a mistake here: Aqua Gun hits for 50 and still puts out the best sustained damage in the element because it fires every two seconds, while Hydro Laser is the best of the heavy hitters despite giving up 150 power to Geyser Gush.
| Skill Fruit | Power | Cooldown | Damage/sec | Class | Rarity | Why bring it |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Geyser Gush | 600 | 30s | 20.0 | Melee | Rare | Biggest Water hit in the game, and the only fruit here that scales off Melee Attack |
Aqua Surge | 500 | 24s | 20.8 | Shot | Rare | Waves close in from every side and detonate at the centre — the pick when you're surrounded |
Hydro Laser | 450 | 20s | 22.5 | Shot | Rare | Best damage over time of any heavy Water fruit, but 1,800 range means fighting up close |
Hydro Slicer | 350 | 16s | 21.9 | Shot | Rare | Sweeps the front, then the struck ground erupts again a moment later — best all-rounder |
Curtain Splash | 300 | 16s | 18.8 | Shot | Rare | Builds water walls at the target's feet; loses to Hydro Slicer on the identical timer |
Torrential Blast | 250 | 12s | 20.8 | Shot | Uncommon | The stream splits left and right after a delay — good value against grouped targets |
Aqua Burst | 200 | 12s | 16.7 | Shot | Uncommon | Lobbed ball with 5,000 range, but the weakest damage per second above 100 power |
Splash | 160 | 8s | 20.0 | Shot | Uncommon | Hardest-hitting 8-second Water skill; clean filler between the big casts |
Acid Rain | 120 | 8s | 15.0 | Shot | Uncommon | 5,000 range on a cheap fruit, and the lowest damage per second in the element |
Bubble Blast | 80 | 4s | 20.0 | Shot | Uncommon | Slow homing bubbles every four seconds — safe chip damage while you reposition |
Aqua Gun | 50 | 2s | 25.0 | Shot | Common | Best sustained damage of any Water attack in Palworld |
Hydro Jet | 40 | 2s | 20.0 | Shot | Common | Fast and straight, but 19 Pals already know it and several from level 1 |
All 12 share the same blue fruit art in your inventory, so you can't tell them apart at a glance — check the tooltip, or use the sortable Palworld Skill Fruit database to match a fruit to its move before you feed it to something.
Power, Cooldown, and What Water Is Good For
Element-wise, Water hits Fire Pals hard and gets shut down by Electric and Grass, which makes a Water carrier the obvious answer to Mount Obsidian and a liability in the Grasslands. Every one of the 12 applies Soak on hit, and ten of them do it at full build-up — Aqua Gun and Hydro Jet are the two weak ones, applying roughly half and a third as much respectively. If you're stacking Soak on a boss deliberately, that rules out the two cheap fruits no matter how good their damage per second looks.
The table below is the ceiling at each cooldown length — the best Water fruit you can slot at that timer. Two rows decide most builds. The 2-second row is the highest sustained damage in the element, which is why Aqua Gun shows up on Water builds long after you can afford better. The 20-second row is the best of the heavy hitters: Hydro Laser beats Geyser Gush on damage over time even though Geyser Gush hits 150 harder per cast — the catch is Hydro Laser's 1,800 maximum range against Geyser Gush's 5,000.
| Cooldown | Best Water fruit at that timer | Power | Damage/sec | Max range |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2s | Aqua Gun | 50 | 25.0 | 5,000 |
| 4s | Bubble Blast | 80 | 20.0 | 3,500 |
| 8s | Splash | 160 | 20.0 | 2,500 |
| 12s | Torrential Blast | 250 | 20.8 | 3,000 |
| 16s | Hydro Slicer | 350 | 21.9 | 4,000 |
| 20s | Hydro Laser | 450 | 22.5 | 1,800 |
| 24s | Aqua Surge | 500 | 20.8 | 5,000 |
| 30s | Geyser Gush | 600 | 20.0 | 5,000 |
How to Get Water Skill Fruits
Six routes exist and they do not overlap evenly. The headline is that the element's best fruit is also its least farmable: Geyser Gush does not drop from a chest, a fishing spot, an oil rig crate or the ground anywhere in the game. Its only two sources are 45 Battle Tickets at the Arena Shop or recycling Ancient Relics at odds thin enough to ignore. Torrential Blast is nearly as awkward — no merchant sells it and no chest carries it, leaving Sunreach Isle fishing as the one realistic route. Everything else in the element is farmable, and the split runs by region.
Arena Shop — Battle Tickets
Three Water fruits sit permanently in the Arena Shop, and for two of them this is the only guaranteed route. Geyser Gush at 45 tickets is the one to save for — a 600-power skill with 5,000 range that no amount of chest farming will ever hand you. Aqua Surge costs the same 45 and is much easier to justify skipping, because it drops from Sunreach Isle fishing and 79 Pals can inherit it through breeding. Hydro Slicer at 30 tickets is the value buy of the three: the best all-round Water fruit at a third off the Rare price. Stock doesn't rotate, so tickets keep their worth while you grind.
| Skill Fruit | Battle Tickets | Power | Cooldown | Other sources |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Geyser Gush | 45 | 600 | 30s | Relic recycling only |
Aqua Surge | 45 | 500 | 24s | Sunreach Isle fishing, relic recycling |
Hydro Slicer | 30 | 350 | 16s | Sunreach Isle fishing, relic recycling |
Tickets come from the arena itself — the full round list and what each one pays out is on the Palworld arena guide, and the rest of the Battle Ticket stock is listed on the Palworld merchant database.
Volcano Shop and Wandering Merchant — Gold
Two Water fruits are buyable with plain Gold at 3,000 each, and they come from different merchants. Acid Rain is the Wandering Merchant's stock and Aqua Burst is the Volcano Shop's. Neither is a good skill on paper — Acid Rain has the worst damage per second in the element and Aqua Burst isn't much better — but the pitch for Acid Rain is that no Pal in the game can inherit it, so a 3,000-Gold fruit is the only way to put it on anything outside the 15 Pals that learn it naturally. Aqua Burst is the opposite: 257 Pals can inherit it, which makes buying one close to pointless. Neither price is real money by mid-game, and the best Gold farming methods cover both in one run. No merchant anywhere sells Hydro Laser, Curtain Splash, Torrential Blast, Splash, Bubble Blast, Aqua Gun or Hydro Jet.
Water-Sealed Chests and Oil Rig Crates
Elemental-sealed chests are the best per-open odds for the cheaper Water fruits, and there are 109 of them pinned on the Palworld interactive map. The Water-sealed ones sit in the Forest, Desert, Sakurajima and Sunreach Isle, and each has roughly a 2.5% shot at any single fruit in its pool — the Forest chests edge the rest at 2.61%. The important detail is that these chests carry Hydro Laser, a Rare, alongside the cheap stuff, which makes them the only repeatable route to a 450-power Water skill. Oil rig crates are close behind at 2.56% per fruit, and the 56 crates respawn, so rigs are the better long-term farm once you can handle the guards — they just cap out at Uncommon.
| Source | Pins on the map | Water fruits it carries | Chance per fruit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Water-Sealed Chests | 109 elemental-sealed total | Hydro Laser, Aqua Burst, Acid Rain, Bubble Blast, Aqua Gun, Hydro Jet | 2.54–2.61% |
| Oil Rig Crates | 56 | Acid Rain, Bubble Blast, Aqua Gun, Hydro Jet | 2.56% |
| Skill Fruit Trees | 35 (+12 in the World Tree) | Random roll — any element | — |
Skill Fruit Trees are the wildcard: 47 of them exist across both regions and each one hands you a fruit without a fight, but you don't pick the element. Run the tree route when you're passing anyway, not as a targeted Water farm.
Region Chests and Fishing Spots
Ordinary treasure chests carry Water fruits too, and which ones you can pull depends entirely on where the chest sits. The Snowfields have the best odds anywhere at 1.64% across 178 chests, and their pool holds Hydro Laser, so that's the correct deliberate farm for the element's best Shot skill. The late band — Sakurajima, Feybreak and Sunreach Isle — is the only place regular chests hold Curtain Splash and Splash, with Feybreak winning on volume at 201 chests. Grasslands and Forest chests only ever cough up the bottom four. Fishing spots mirror the chest pool of whatever region they sit in at slightly lower rates, and 367 of them are pinned across the main map, so it's free progress while working through the Palworld fishing guide.
| Region | Chest pins | Water fruits in the pool | Chance per chest |
|---|---|---|---|
| Snowfields | 178 | Hydro Laser, Aqua Burst, Acid Rain, Bubble Blast | 1.64% |
| Sakurajima | 68 | Hydro Laser, Curtain Splash, Splash | 1.49% |
| Feybreak | 201 | Hydro Laser, Curtain Splash, Splash | 1.49% |
| Sunreach Isle | 76 | Hydro Laser, Curtain Splash, Splash | 1.49% |
| Desert | 263 | Hydro Laser, Aqua Burst, Acid Rain, Bubble Blast | 1.10% |
| Mount Obsidian | 137 | Hydro Laser, Aqua Burst, Acid Rain, Bubble Blast | 1.10% |
| Grasslands | 177 | Acid Rain, Bubble Blast, Aqua Gun, Hydro Jet | 0.59% |
| Forest | 247 | Aqua Burst, Acid Rain, Bubble Blast, Aqua Gun, Hydro Jet | 0.50% |
Yakushima chests hold the same four as the Desert at 1.10%, and Sunreach Isle fishing is worth a special mention: at 0.94% per spot it's the only non-Arena source of Aqua Surge, Hydro Slicer and Torrential Blast in the game. Water fruits also turn up as plain field loot, but barely — Splash sits at 0.62% around the World Tree and everything else in that category is under 0.13%. Those numbers are far too thin to farm on purpose; they just explain the occasional free fruit lying on the ground.
Recycling Ancient Relics
Every grade of Ancient Relic can break down into a Rare Water fruit — Geyser Gush, Aqua Surge, Hydro Laser, Hydro Slicer, Curtain Splash and Torrential Blast are all in the recycler's output pool. The catch is the rate: each fruit sits between 0.012% and 0.024% per relic depending on grade, with Glistening relics the best of the five. That is a bonus you notice while farming relics for something else, never a plan. It is worth knowing purely because it's the only Geyser Gush source that doesn't cost Battle Tickets. The full setup is covered in the Ancient Relic Recycler guide.
Best Pals to Put Water Skills On
Eleven of the twelve fruits teach a Shot skill, so for those eleven the only stat that matters is Shot Attack — a Pal with monstrous Melee Attack gains nothing from an Aqua Surge fruit. Neptilius is the clear home for your best Shot fruit at 145 Shot Attack, the highest of any Water Pal in the game, and it gets a same-element damage bonus on top. Shaolong is second at 135 with 140 HP, which makes it the more survivable option, and Panthalus is the wall — 180 HP and 200 Defence are both the best in the element, and it already owns seven exclusive Water attacks of its own, so a fruit on it is pure surplus. If you want the fruit to matter, Neptilius and Shaolong are the two to feed.
| Pal | Shot Attack | HP | Defence | Elements | Why it's a good carrier |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Neptilius | 145 | 105 | 125 | Water | Highest Shot Attack of any Water Pal; learns Aqua Surge free at Lv. 40 |
Shaolong | 135 | 140 | 120 | Dragon / Water | Second-highest attack with 35 more HP; never learns Geyser Gush on its own |
Ghangler Ignis | 130 | 90 | 105 | Fire / Water | Big attack on a fragile frame — best when something else is tanking |
Ghangler | 125 | 90 | 105 | Dark / Water | Dark typing covers the matchups a pure Water team folds to |
Jormuntide | 120 | 130 | 100 | Dragon / Water | The Geyser Gush carrier — 150 Melee Attack, joint-highest in the game |
Panthalus | 120 | 180 | 200 | Water | Most HP and Defence in the element, but seven exclusive skills already fill its bar |
Relaxaurus | 115 | 120 | 110 | Dragon / Water | 110 Melee Attack makes it the budget Geyser Gush option |
Whalaska | 115 | 105 | 110 | Ice / Water | Learns Geyser Gush free at Lv. 50 — save the fruit for something else |
Ophydia | 115 | 130 | 120 | Grass / Water | Best balance of attack and bulk; learns Hydro Laser at Lv. 30 |
Faleris Aqua | 110 | 110 | 115 | Water | Cheapest decent carrier — fine for a mid-game Water slot |
Geyser Gush Is the Melee Exception
This is the part of the element that catches people out. Geyser Gush is 600 power at 5,000 range, which reads like a Shot skill — but it's classed as Melee, so it scales off Melee Attack and completely ignores Shot Attack. Feed it to Neptilius and its 145 Shot Attack does nothing for it; the skill fires off Neptilius's 100 Melee Attack instead. Jormuntide is the correct home: 150 Melee Attack, joint-highest of any Pal in the game, plus Water typing for the same-element bonus. The awkward bit is that Jormuntide learns Geyser Gush by itself at Lv. 70, so the fruit's real job is either skipping 20 levels of grind or putting the skill on Shaolong and Panthalus, neither of which ever learns it. Relaxaurus at 110 Melee Attack is the budget alternative.
Feeding a fruit doesn't care about the Pal's element at all, so a Water fruit on a high Shot Attack Pal of another element is still a perfectly good answer to Fire bosses — you just lose the same-element bonus. Check the Palworld combat tier list before you commit a Rare fruit; they aren't refundable once eaten.
Fruits You Can Skip
Some of these skills are handed out free by levelling or picked up cheaply through breeding, which makes buying the fruit a waste. The two numbers that matter are how many Pals learn the skill by levelling and how many can inherit it as an egg move. Five Water skills have an inheritance pool of exactly zero — Geyser Gush, Acid Rain, Bubble Blast, Aqua Gun and Hydro Jet — and for those five a fruit is the only way onto a Pal that doesn't learn them naturally. That's what makes Geyser Gush the best Arena purchase in the element and Acid Rain the only Gold buy worth making. Everything with a three-digit inheritance pool is a skip: Aqua Burst at 257 Pals is one of the most common egg moves in the game.
| Skill Fruit | Pals that learn it by levelling | Pals that can inherit it | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|
Geyser Gush | 36 | 0 | Buy it — no breeding route exists, and it's the element's ceiling |
Acid Rain | 15 | 0 | 3,000 Gold is the only route for anything outside those 15 |
Torrential Blast | 14 | 77 | No shop sells it — breed it rather than fish for it |
Hydro Slicer | 12 | 78 | 30 tickets is fair value, but breeding covers it for free |
Aqua Surge | 10 | 79 | Skip the 45 tickets — spend them on Geyser Gush instead |
Curtain Splash | 7 | 129 | Breed it — only 7 Pals learn it, but 129 can inherit it |
Hydro Laser | 25 | 132 | Skip — the widest inheritance pool of any Water Rare |
Splash | 12 | 126 | Skip — easy egg move and only 160 power |
Aqua Burst | 23 | 257 | Skip — you'll inherit it long before you'd ever buy it |
Bubble Blast | 32 | 0 | Only worth it for a Pal outside the 32 that learn it |
Aqua Gun | 29 | 0 | Best damage per second in the element — grab one if a chest offers it |
Hydro Jet | 19 | 0 | Skip — weakest fruit here, and several Pals know it at Lv. 1 |
If breeding is the cheaper path for most of this list, the inheritance rules are worth reading properly — how breeding works in Palworld covers which parent passes what, and the Palworld breeding calculator finds the pair.
Farm Your Own at the Skillfruit Orchard
Late in the game you can stop hunting fruits and start growing them. The Skillfruit Orchard unlocks at level 71 and costs 200 Mythical Wood, 500 Paldium Fragment and 150 Soralite to build — a real endgame bill, and the Mythical Wood is the slow part since relic recycling is the source. It needs a Pal with Watering to run, which a Water team supplies for free. Plant a fruit and every harvest rolls against a fixed table: 60% of cycles give you nothing, 15% return the exact fruit you planted, and the remaining 25% splits between a Common, Uncommon or Rare fruit of the same element.
That last part is the whole point, and it matters more for Water than for most elements. The orchard never crosses elements, so planting a spare Hydro Jet can eventually roll a Rare Water fruit at a 3% clip per harvest — and Geyser Gush is in that Rare pool. It is the only renewable Geyser Gush source in the game that doesn't cost Battle Tickets. The full payout table is on the Skill Fruit database page.
| Material | Qty | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| 200 | Every grade of Ancient Relic recycles into it — guaranteed output | |
| 500 | 711 Paldium Ore nodes on the map, or buy it from the Wandering Merchant | |
| 150 | 226 Soralite nodes, plus Sunreach Isle supply drops and expeditions |
Summary
If you only take one thing away: spend your Battle Tickets on Geyser Gush and put it on Jormuntide or a high-Melee Pal, because it's the element's hardest hit, it has no breeding route, and no chest in the game drops it. For a Shot carrier, farm Snowfields chests at 1.64% for Hydro Laser and feed it to Neptilius. Everything else on this page is either cheap enough to breed for or weak enough to ignore.
