How to Get Skillfruit Orchard: Cost, Odds, and Best Pals
The Skillfruit Orchard unlocks at Technology 71 for 3 points and costs 200 Mythical Wood, 500 Paldium Fragment and 150 Soralite. Full build cost, where to farm every material, the harvest odds, and the best Watering Pals to run it.

The Skillfruit Orchard is the only structure in Palworld that turns one Skill Fruit into more Skill Fruits, and it sits behind Technology level 71 plus a build cost that reaches into three different endgame regions. This guide covers the unlock, the full material list with the fastest source for each, the harvest odds, the best Pals to staff it, and which element is actually worth planting.
Skillfruit Orchard at a Glance
It is a Food-category structure that behaves like a plantation, except the seed is a Skill Fruit you already own. Plant one, put a Pal with Watering on it, and each cycle rolls for more fruit of that same element. The one detail that makes it easier to staff than any plantation: it asks for a single job. A Berry Plantation needs Planting, Watering and Gathering all covered before it produces anything, while the orchard runs on one waterer.
| Detail | Value |
|---|---|
| Structure | |
| Category | Food |
| Unlock | Technology level 71 |
| Cost to unlock | 3 Technology Points (not Ancient Points) |
| Build materials | 200 |
| Work needed | Watering, rank 1 |
| What it does | Grows more Skill Fruits of the element you plant |
| Chance a cycle pays out | 40% |
| Chance of a rare fruit | 3% per cycle |
How to Unlock the Skillfruit Orchard
There is no quest and no boss gate here — the orchard is a plain entry on the Palworld tech tree that appears the moment you hit player level 71. It costs 3 regular Technology Points, so no tower boss farming is required, and at that stage of the game 3 points is pocket change compared to the 5-point Ancient structures sitting beside it. The real gate is the shopping list, because two of the three materials only exist in the endgame regions.
| Requirement | Detail | How to cover it |
|---|---|---|
| Player level 71 | Unlocks the tech entry | Level grinding is the only route; boss rematches and dungeon clears are the fastest XP |
| 3 Technology Points | Standard points, not Ancient | How to Get More Technology Points and Ancient Points |
| World Tree access | Where Mythical Wood comes from | How to Beat Panthalus and Enter the World Tree |
| Sunreach Isle access | Where Soralite comes from | Sunreach Skies Guide |
| A Pal with Watering | Needed to operate it | Any rank-1 waterer works; see the table further down |
Skillfruit Orchard Build Cost and Where to Farm It
850 units of material across three items, and none of them are things you stumble into early. Paldium Fragment is the bulk of it at 500, which is the one you can brute-force — Wander Shops sell it at 70 Gold each, so if you would rather pay than mine, the whole 500 is about 35,000 Gold. Soralite is the awkward one at 150, because outside of supply drops it comes in trickles of 1 to 10 at a time.
| Material | Qty | Fastest source |
|---|---|---|
| 200 | Recycling Ancient Relics — up to 11 per relic | |
| 500 | 711 Paldium Ore nodes on the map, or 70 Gold each from a Wander Shop | |
| 150 | Sunreach Isle supply drops, 30–40 per drop |
Mythical Wood ×200
Mythical Wood does not grow on any tree you can chop. It comes out of the World Tree, and the reliable path is the
Ancient Relic Recycler — feed it relics and it hands back wood, with the better relic grades paying far more per unit. A stack of Glistening relics clears the 200 requirement in roughly 20 recycles, while Decayed relics need closer to 100. Field drops inside the World Tree also cough it up 18.7% of the time in batches of 1 to 5, which is decent passive income while you are up there for other reasons.
| Relic recycled | Mythical Wood returned |
|---|---|
Decayed Ancient Relic | 1–3 |
Dormant Ancient Relic | 3–5 |
Gorgeous Ancient Relic | 5–7 |
Glowing Ancient Relic | 7–9 |
Glistening Ancient Relic | 9–11 |
The catch is that the recycler itself unlocks at Technology 74, three levels after the orchard. If you are standing at 71 and want the orchard now, World Tree field drops and whatever Mythical Wood you have banked are your only options — otherwise push to 74 first and let the Ancient Relic Recycler do the work.
Paldium Fragment ×500
This is the easy 500 if you plan it. There are 711 Paldium Ore nodes across the Palpagos Islands, all pinned on the Palworld interactive map with the Paldium layer switched on — park a base on a cluster and mining Pals top you up forever. If you are not near a cluster, expeditions are the lazy fix: Verdant Hollow and Secret Realm of the Forest are both 30-minute Easy runs returning 10–30 and 20–40 Fragments respectively, so a few overlapping dispatches cover a good chunk of the cost while you do something else. Chests and field drops across Mount Obsidian, the Desert and the Snowfields throw in another 2–7 at a time, and junk hauls while fishing in the Grasslands return 4–6 a quarter of the time.
Soralite ×150
Soralite only exists around Sunreach Isle, and 150 of it is the requirement most players stall on. Supply drops in the region are the best single hit at 30–40 per drop, so five drops finish the job outright. Everything else is chip damage: 226 Soralite nodes are mapped on the Soralite resource layer, enemy camp loot in the region pays 5–10 about 28% of the time, and fishing there returns a fat 18–29 on an 18.8% roll. Jetragon drops a guaranteed 10 per kill and Pierdon Cryst gives 4–5, which makes an alpha loop worth doing if you were farming them anyway.
| Soralite source | Amount | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Sunreach Isle supply drops | 30–40 | Guaranteed on every drop in the region |
| Sunreach Isle expedition (Hard) | 30–50 | 60 minutes, fully passive |
| Sunreach Dragon Husk expedition (Very Hard) | 10–20 | 120 minutes |
| Fishing in Sunreach Isle | 18–29 | 18.8% of hauls |
| Enemy camp loot | 5–10 | 27.7% of clears |
Jetragon | 10 | Guaranteed drop |
Pierdon Cryst | 4–5 | Guaranteed drop, spawns in the wild |
One more thing worth knowing before you burn your Soralite: the
Soralite Quarry unlocks one level later at Technology 72 and produces the ore infinitely, but it costs 100 Soralite plus Ancient Technology Points to build. Build the orchard first if you only have 150 banked — the quarry can wait until Sunreach farming has refilled you.
How the Skillfruit Orchard Works
Plant one Skill Fruit and the orchard runs cycles on it, with a waterer keeping it going. Each harvest rolls one of five outcomes, and the odds are harsher than the build cost suggests: most cycles give you nothing at all. When it does pay, it never leaves the element you planted — a Water fruit in the ground can only ever return Water fruits, so the orchard is a duplicator for an element you already have, not a slot machine for something new.
| Harvest result | Chance |
|---|---|
| Nothing this cycle | 60% |
| The exact fruit you planted | 15% |
| Common fruit of the same element | 15% |
| Uncommon fruit of the same element | 7% |
| Rare fruit of the same element | 3% |
Read that as 40% of cycles paying out something, and the top-tier fruit landing roughly once every 33 harvests. The 15% that returns your exact fruit is the number that matters most, though — it means the orchard slowly loses your seed fruit rather than replicating it reliably, so plant a spare, never your only copy of a 700-power fruit.
Best Pals to Run the Skillfruit Orchard
The orchard only asks for Watering rank 1, so literally any of the 46 Pals with the job can operate it — but a higher rank finishes cycles faster, and by level 71 you should have access to the top of the list. Shaolong is the only Watering 8 Pal in the game and the obvious pick if you have one. Jormuntide and Neptilius tie at 7 and are far easier to get hold of. If your base is tight on slots, Ophydia is the smart compromise: Watering 5 is fine for an orchard, and its Planting 7 keeps your food plantations staffed by the same Pal.
| Pal | Watering | Also does | Why bring it |
|---|---|---|---|
Shaolong | 8 | Gathering 5 | The single highest Watering rank in the game — fastest cycles, no contest |
Jormuntide | 7 | — | Rank 7 with no competing jobs, so it never wanders off the orchard |
Neptilius | 7 | — | Matches Jormuntide's rank and is a straight upgrade if you already own one |
Faleris Aqua | 6 | Transporting 5 | Waters and hauls the harvest to storage without a second Pal |
Suzaku Aqua | 6 | — | Rank 6 single-jobber, easy to slot into a crowded base |
Ophydia | 5 | Planting 7 | Best dual-purpose pick — covers the orchard and your food plots |
Whalaska | 5 | Cooling 6 | Worth it if your base also runs a cooler for eggs |
Stack the orchard into an existing farm floor rather than giving it its own building — one waterer can cover several plots if the pathing is short, and the plantation stacking layout applies here unchanged. The work suitability optimizer will tell you whether your current team already has the Watering coverage to spare.
Which Skill Fruit Should You Plant?
All 93 Skill Fruits split across nine elements, and the orchard's rare roll can only hand you a rare fruit from the element sitting in the dirt. That makes the decision about two things: how good that element's best fruit is, and how many rare fruits it has to spread the 3% across. Ice and Neutral are the standouts — both top out at 700 power, the highest any fruit reaches, and Neutral's rare pool is the smallest in the game at just two fruits. Electric, Dark, Water and Grass all carry five rare fruits each, so a rare roll there is far more likely to be a fruit you already own.
| Element | Fruits | Rare fruits | Best rare fruit | Power / Cooldown |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Ice | 10 | 4 | Absolute Frost | 700 / 30s |
| Neutral | 7 | 2 | Holy Burst | 700 / 30s |
| Electric | 14 | 5 | Thunderstorm | 600 / 30s |
| Dark | 13 | 5 | Dark Whisp | 600 / 30s |
| Water | 12 | 5 | Geyser Gush | 600 / 30s |
| Fire | 10 | 4 | Fire Ball | 600 / 30s |
| Ground | 8 | 4 | Rocky Impact | 600 / 30s |
| Dragon | 8 | 3 | Dragon Meteor | 600 / 30s |
| Grass | 11 | 5 | Crosswind | 500 / 24s |
Pocketpair has not spelled out how the game picks a fruit once it has rolled the rare tier, so treat pool size as a tiebreaker rather than a guarantee — but a two-fruit Neutral pool is still a much narrower target than a five-fruit Electric one. Power numbers here only compare against other Skill Fruit moves; a 700-power fruit move is not the same currency as a weapon's attack stat. Full stat lists for each element live on the Ice Skill Fruit list, the Neutral list and the rest of the Skill Fruit database.
Is the Skillfruit Orchard Worth Building?
If you are hunting a specific fruit, no — go shake trees instead, because the 47 Skill Fruit Tree locations hand out fruit far faster and you can pick the region whose pool you actually want. The orchard earns its 850 materials in one situation: you have a spare fruit of an element you keep needing, and you want it multiplying in the background while you play. Set it up on a farm floor with a waterer that is already there, plant a common fruit of your favourite element, and check the box every so often. Treat it as passive income, not as a source.
