Lightning Strike Effect and Every Pal That Learns It

Lightning Strike is a 300-power Electric skill on a 16-second cooldown that only reaches 500 — here's what that trade actually buys, all 12 Pals that learn it and when, where the skill fruit drops, and which Pals are worth spending it on.

Lightning Strike Effect and Every Pal That Learns It — Palworld Database

Lightning Strike is an Electric active skill that hits for 300 power on a 16-second cooldown, and it reaches barely any distance at all. Below is the full stat card, all 12 Pals that learn it and the level each one gets it at, how it stacks up against the rest of the Electric roster, where the skill fruit drops, and whether it deserves a slot on your team.

Lightning Strike Stats and Effect

It is a Shot-category Electric skill, so it fires rather than swings, and like every Electric attack it can leave the target Electrified — the lockdown ailment covered in the status effects guide. The headline number is the 300 power per activation; the catch is the range line, because 500 is the second-shortest reach of any Electric skill that fires.

Skill fruitElectric Skill Fruit: Lightning Strike (rarity 3)

Palworld has 33 Electric active skills, and 23 of them beat Lightning Strike on damage per second. What it does own is the bottom of the range band: among Electric skills that fire, only Shockwave — an 80-power filler — closes to a shorter distance, and Lightning Strike has no minimum range at all. Every number here and for all 300 active skills is sortable on the active skills database.

Every Pal That Learns Lightning Strike

Twelve Pals pick it up by levelling — none of them get it as an egg move, so breeding won't shortcut it. The distribution is lopsided: Orserk learns it at level 7, Snock at 22, Puffolt at 30, then eight Pals all get it at exactly level 40, and Pengullet Lux brings up the rear at 50. If you want the biggest hit out of it, Orserk and Relaxaurus Lux carry the highest base shot attack of the group — and Grizzbolt is the one that actually wants to be standing close enough to use it.

Nine of these twelve go on to learn Lightning Bolt, which is a straight upgrade in every column except reach — so for most of the roster Lightning Strike is a bridge skill you run for ten levels and then replace. The three that never get Lightning Bolt are Bushi, Dynamoff and Pengullet Lux, which makes it a longer-term fixture on those three.

Orserk Gets It 15 Levels Before Anyone Else

Level 7 is absurdly early for a 300-power skill, and it is the single best reason to pull Orserk out of the box early. Orserk is also the only Pal in the game that innately carries Lord of Lightning, the passive that adds 30% to Lightning attack damage, so the same 300 power lands harder from Orserk than from anything else on the list. The trade-off is what it already has: its level-1 Kerauno is 250 power on a 12-second cooldown and reaches 5,000, so Lightning Strike is the bigger single hit but a tenth of the reach. Wild Orserk only turns up at level 74–80 across 33 spots, so most players meet it through breeding rather than a catch.

Bushi Is the Only Non-Electric Pal on the List

Bushi is Fire-typed and still learns Lightning Strike at 40, which makes it the odd one out. That matters, because a skill whose element matches the Pal using it deals extra damage — Bushi doesn't get that bonus, so its 125 base shot attack (the second-highest of the twelve) is working uphill. What Bushi has going for it is availability: 1,838 spawn spots and a level 25 alpha make it by far the easiest of the group to actually get hold of, and the level 40 slot is otherwise the only Electric coverage a Fire Pal will ever see.

Dinossom Lux Already Has a Longer-Ranged Twin

Dinossom Lux is the only Pal in the game that learns Lightning Smash, and it gets it at level 35 — five levels before Lightning Strike. The two skills are numerically identical at 300 power, a 16-second cooldown and 18.8 damage per second, except Lightning Smash reaches 1,500 instead of 500. For Dinossom Lux specifically, the level 40 pickup is a downgrade: keep the Smash and spend the slot elsewhere.

Lightning Strike vs the Rest of the Electric Roster

Univolt learns most of this table on its own, which makes it the cleanest way to see where Lightning Strike sits. Read the min-range column rather than the power column: Lightning Bolt and Railbolt both need 500 of space before they come out, while Lightning Strike, Kerauno, Tri-Lightning and Thunderstorm all work from zero. That is the whole argument for the skill — it is the only 300-power Electric shot with no minimum range that more than one Pal can learn.

Lightning Smash30016s18.80–1,500

Railbolt60030s20.0500–3,000
Thunderstorm60030s20.00–5,000

The practical read: on a big, slow Pal that ends up nose-to-nose with whatever it is fighting, Lightning Strike is a real 300-damage button. On a backline shooter it is the worst version of a skill that Tri-Lightning does at ten times the distance. That is why Grizzbolt and Relaxaurus Lux make better homes for it than Dazzi does.

How to Get the Electric Skill Fruit: Lightning Strike

Every Electric skill fruit shares the same in-game artwork, so you cannot tell them apart on the ground — check the name. This one is pure loot: no shop stocks it. The Arena Shop's Electric shelf stops at Thunder Rain and All Range Thunder for 30 Battle Tickets each and Thunderstorm for 45, and the only Electric fruit gold buys is Lock-on Laser at 3,000 from a wandering trader. Everything else has to be found.

The honest ranking of those five: chests in the six listed regions are the volume source, relic recycling is the one you can farm on purpose, and the Yakushima grade 5 pool is the least efficient way to chase a rarity 3 fruit. Pocketpair has never published per-item chest odds, so treat any single chest as a lottery ticket and farm the route rather than the pin.

Skill Fruit Trees on the Map

Skill fruit trees are fixed pickups rather than random drops, and there are 47 of them in total — 35 across the Palpagos Islands and 12 more on the World Tree map. Switch the layer on with the skill fruit tree layer and run them as a circuit; each tree rolls its own fruit, so a full lap is the fastest way to build a stock of fruits you can then replant. The full list of what every fruit teaches lives on the skill fruits page.

Replanting at the Skillfruit Orchard

The Skillfruit Orchard unlocks at Tech 71 and costs 200 Mythical Wood, 500 Paldium Fragment and 150 Soralite, plus a Pal with Watering rank 1 on the plot. Plant a fruit and each cycle rolls one of five results, and the odds are not kind — but every payout stays inside the element you planted, so an Electric fruit in the ground only ever gives Electric fruits back.

Harvest resultChance
Nothing this cycle60%
The exact fruit you planted15%
Common fruit of the same element15%
Uncommon fruit of the same element7%
Rare fruit of the same element3%

So a planted fruit pays out something 40% of the time. Since Lightning Strike is a mid-rarity Electric fruit, the sensible move is to plant a spare Electric fruit you don't want and let the orchard reroll it, rather than planting the Lightning Strike you were going to use.

Best Pals to Spend the Fruit On

A skill fruit works on any Pal, but it is worth remembering that a fruit spent on a Pal that learns the skill anyway is a wasted fruit. The Pals worth feeding it to are Electric-typed — for the matching-element damage bonus — with a genuine hole in their level-up list around the 30s and 40s. Only two really qualify.

PalElementBase Shot AtkWhat it already hasVerdict
RayhoundElectric100Electric Ball at Lv 30 — 100 power, then nothing bigger until Lightning Bolt at 50Best target. Triples the per-hit damage of its level 30 skill and covers a 20-level gap
BeakonElectric115Sand Tornado at Lv 40, an off-element Ground shotGood target. Swaps an off-element move for one that gets the Electric damage bonus

AzurmaneElectric120All Range Thunder at Lv 30, Railbolt at Lv 40Skip — Railbolt doubles the power for the same slot

Helzephyr Lux has the highest base shot attack of any Electric Pal that never learns Lightning Strike, which makes it tempting — but its natural line is already stronger at every step, so the fruit buys nothing. Rayhound is the opposite case: a fast, close-range Electric Pal whose level 30 skill is a 100-power Electric Ball, and whose fighting distance suits a 500-range attack anyway.

Gear and Passives That Boost It

Because Lightning Strike is on the low side for damage per second, the multipliers matter more than usual. Two of the accessories below carry the top Lv. 4 tier of the Pal Electric Damage Enhancement line, and the passive is the biggest single swing available — worth breeding onto anything that runs an Electric kit.

The baton and the talisman use the same Electric enhancement tier, so pick by what the Pal needs — attack on a glass cannon like Relaxaurus Lux, defense on a frontliner like Grizzbolt that has to survive at 500 range. Both want 10 Electric Organ, which the Pal organs guide covers, and the baton needs Ancient Civilization Cores on top. Full listings are in the batons guide and the talismans guide.

TipLightning Strike's 500 range is a feature against the right target. Big Water-element Pals are exactly what Electric wants to fight, and the biggest ones — the level 60 Neptilius and the level 55 Jormuntide — have hitboxes so large that your Pal is inside 500 the whole fight anyway. Bring Ground resistance instead of range, since Ground is the element that punishes an Electric team back.

Is Lightning Strike Worth a Slot?

For most of the twelve, it is a ten-level rental: take it when you get it, drop it the moment Lightning Bolt arrives. It is a keeper on three kinds of Pal — Orserk, because level 7 access plus Lord of Lightning makes it a genuine early-game hammer; melee-range bruisers like Grizzbolt that fight inside 500 anyway and can't use the 500-minimum skills; and the three Pals that never learn Lightning Bolt at all. As a fruit, it is worth spending on Rayhound and Beakon and almost nobody else — every other Electric Pal either learns it for free or already has something better in that slot.
