Best Support Pals: Healers, Party Buffs, and Drop Rate Boosters

Updated 2026-07-23

Damage gets the headlines, but the Pals that keep you alive, buff your team, and double your loot are the ones that quietly carry a playthrough. These are the best support Pals in the game with their exact numbers — every value below scales with the Pal's partner skill rank, from Rank 1 up to Rank 5.

The Healers

Activated heals restore a percentage of Health to you and your whole party — and the numbers are huge:

PalHealNotes
Lyleen Noct85–95%The best heal in the game — spawns wild on the World Tree, plus a night-only alpha
Lyleen80–90%Nearly as strong and far easier to get
Petallia Ignis80–90%Matches base Lyleen's numbers
Petallia75–85%The budget healer that still erases boss damage

Prefer passive sustain? Felbat and Lovander instead grant you life steal while fighting together — 5% of damage dealt at Rank 1, 9% at Rank 5.

The Biggest Attack Buff in the Game

Solenne increases the player's Attack by 30% at Rank 1 — and a massive 80% at Rank 5 — as long as every Pal in your party is a different species. That's an easy condition to meet and it turns your own weapons into the hardest-hitting thing on the field. Pair it with an attack-element converter from the element conversion guide and you're doing boss-melting damage on foot.

Element Attack Buffers (+15–30%)

One cheap Pal per element boosts the Attack of every party Pal sharing its element — 15% at Rank 1, 30% at Rank 5. Most are early-game catches, which makes them the best value slots in any mono-element team:

ElementPal
FireKelpsea Ignis
WaterKelpsea
ElectricSparkit
IceFoxcicle
GrassBristla
GroundDumud
DarkHoocrates
DragonQuivern
NeutralRibbuny or Cremis

Element Defense Buffers (+15–30%)

It's the same clean pattern as the attack roster — one buffer per element, same 15-to-30% scaling — but skewed toward subspecies, so a few of these take real hunting. Rooby and Dinossom are the easy early grabs; Gloopie Primo and Sibelyx Primo are late-game variant catches you add when a mono-element defense core starts mattering in raids.

The defensive mirror of the same system — each boosts the Defense of party Pals sharing its element by 15–30%:

The Drop Rate Crew (+40–80% More Loot)

These Pals make defeated Pals of a specific element drop 40% more items at Rank 1 — 80% more at Rank 5. Bring the right one to your farming route and every organ, ingot, and fragment run nearly doubles:

Farming This ElementBringRank 5 Bonus
FirePenking or Faleris Aqua+80% drops
WaterFenglope Lux+80% drops
ElectricMenasting or Menasting Terra+80% drops
IceFaleris or Cryolinx+80% drops
GrassBlazehowl+80% drops
GroundVaelet+80% drops
DarkElphidran+80% drops
NeutralBlazehowl Noct or Katress+80% drops

Dragon is the one element without a drop booster, so dragon-part farming stays honest work. For what each Pal actually drops, check the item database or any Pal's own page.

TipThe farming combo that pays for itself: a drop booster in the party, a strong mount to chain kills, and a route through spawns of the matching element on the interactive map. Flame Organ runs with Penking come back with nearly double the haul.
