List of All 44 Ground Type Pals and Where to Find Them — Palworld Database

Ground is the armour plating of Palworld's nine elements. Forty-four Pals carry it — the fourth-largest roster in the game — and they average 102.8 base defence, second only to Dragon. This is every Ground Pal with its attack, HP, defence and spawn count, plus what Ground beats and loses to, the best fighters and mounts, all 20 Ground alpha markers, the Terra breeding combos, and where to farm Ground Radiant Gem.

All 44 Ground Type Pals

Forty-four of the game's 288 Pals wear Ground, and the split is exactly even: 22 are pure Ground and 22 are dual-element. The second halves matter because they change what punishes you — Grass is the most common partner at six Pals, which is the worst possible pairing since Grass is also the one element that counters Ground. Four pair with Ice, four with Dark, three with Water, two each with Fire and Electric, and one with Dragon. The Attack column is the higher of each Pal's melee and ranged base value, and Ground sits mid-table at 105.0 average attack, fifth of the nine elements, while its 102.8 average defence is beaten only by Dragon's 108.0.

184AegidronDragon / Ground125105140No wild spawns

Only two of the forty-four have no wild spawns at all — Moldron Cryst and Aegidron, both alpha-only fights at Lv 78 and Lv 79. That is 4.5% of the roster locked behind a boss, against 36% for Dragon, so Ground is one of the easiest elements in the game to actually complete — every other name on the list turns up in the open world somewhere. Cryolinx Terra leads the element on attack at 140, Mammorest and Mammorest Cryst share the top HP at 150, and Aegidron's 140 defence is the highest here and joint-fifth in the entire game.

Ground Type Strengths and Weaknesses

Ground gets the worst trade on the Palworld type chart. It counters exactly one element — Electric — and Electric is the smallest roster in the game at 25 Pals, so the bonus almost never comes up. Meanwhile Grass counters Ground, and Grass is 46 Pals deep. You are swinging at the thinnest target pool while the third-largest element swings back at you for extra. That is precisely why Ground Pals are built the way they are: the element compensates with raw defence and HP instead of matchups.

SituationDamageWhat it means for you
Your Ground move hits an Electric Pal~1.5×Ground's only bonus, against the game's smallest roster of 25 Pals
A Grass move hits your Ground Pal~1.5× against youGround's only weakness — and 46 Pals carry Grass
Your Ground move hits another Ground PalReducedMatching elements get greyed-out numbers, never a bonus
Your Ground move hits the other seven elementsNo bonus, no penalty — Ground is never dead weight
A Grass move hits Warsect, Dualith or MammorestMixedGround/Grass takes the bonus on its Ground half and resists on its Grass half

The practical read is simple: never take a Ground Pal into a Grass fight, and do not expect the Electric bonus to carry a run. Where Ground earns its slot is as the Pal that survives a fight it should not — Tetroise at 135 defence, Knocklem at 135 and Aegidron at 140 soak damage that would delete an Electric Pal. The full chart with every multiplier is in Super Effective and Resistance Explained, and remember the bonus keys off the move, not the Pal — a Neutral Pal holding Ground Skill Fruit: Rocky Impact still punishes Electric.

Best Ground Pals for Combat

Ground is the element with no ceiling. It puts zero Pals in the 14 S-tier combat slots on our Palworld tier list — one of only four elements shut out entirely — but five in A, which is joint-third behind Dark's ten and Dragon's nine. So there is no Ground Pal you build a whole account around, but there are plenty that carry a mid-game team and never die doing it. Cryolinx Terra hits hardest at 140 melee; Anubis is the most flexible because 130 on both attack stats means it works melee or ranged with whatever skill set you roll.

PalTierClassAttackHPDefenceWhy Bring It
Cryolinx TerraAMelee140100110The hardest hitter in the element at 140 melee attack. It is a Lv 62 alpha and 55.8% of its 156 wild pins sit on the Deserted Ash Plateau, so it is easy to find a second one.
AnubisAMelee / Ranged130120100130 attack on both melee and ranged — no other Ground Pal is equally dangerous either way — plus Handiwork Lv 6 and the only natural Earth Emperor passive in the game.
AegidronARanged125105140140 defence is the highest in the element, and it owns Missile Burst, the single 700-power Ground move. Dragon on the other half, so Ice hurts it.
Moldron CrystARanged125110120125 ranged with 120 defence, and its Ice half means Dragon and Grass targets both take a bonus. Alpha-only at Lv 78.
MoldronARanged125110115Same 125/110 frame with Fire instead of Ice, so it answers Grass — the element that punishes Ground — with its own super effective half.
GildraBRanged120105105120 ranged attack from a Lv 5 rarity Pal you can catch at 325 pins. The cheapest real Ground attacker on the list.
Prixter LuxBRanged1159090115 ranged and the only Electric/Ground pairing, which is awkward — Electric is exactly what Ground is meant to counter.
SekhmetBRanged115110100115 ranged with Handiwork Lv 6, and 360 wild pins make it the most catchable strong Ground Pal in the game.
Dualith NoctBRanged110110125110 ranged, 125 defence, Rocket Arm at 600 power, and Ground/Dark dodges the Grass problem on one half.
KnocklemBRanged110105135135 defence with Mining Lv 7 and Transporting Lv 7. Its Steel Guardian Mode partner skill stacks its own ranged attack and defence together.
GildaneBRanged110120110110 attack, 120 HP and the fastest Ground mount at 1260 sprint — one slot that fights and travels.

If you are only levelling one, make it Anubis — it is a Lv 55 alpha most players reach naturally, it is the only Ground Pal that rolls Earth Emperor (+30% Ground damage) as a natural passive, and Handiwork Lv 6 means it earns its slot at base between fights. Cryolinx Terra out-damages it by 10 but brings nothing to the base, and Aegidron is the pick when a fight is long instead of sharp: 140 defence and 300 mount stamina, at the cost of being a Lv 79 alpha you will not touch for a long while.

The Strongest Ground Attack Skills

33 attack skills carry the Ground element, right in the middle of the nine — Dark has 45 and Dragon just 23. The shape of the list is unusual though: only one Ground move reaches the game's 700-power ceiling, and it belongs to a single Pal. Below that sit four moves at 600, three of which are also exclusives. Power only compares inside a class, so read the melee entries against melee and the shots against shots.

Rocky Impact is the one that matters. At 600 power it is one tier below the ceiling, but 40 Pals learn it naturally and Ground Skill Fruit: Rocky Impact bolts it onto anything else — no other element hands out a 600-power hit that freely. Ground Skill Fruit: Sand Twister at 500 is the ranged alternative if your Pal is a shooter. Everything above 600 is locked behind one specific Pal, so if you want Aegidron's Missile Burst you have to win the Lv 79 alpha fight for it. The whole set with drop rates is in List of Ground Skill Fruits.

Best Ground Mounts

Eighteen of the forty-four Ground Pals take a saddle, and none of them are fast. The quickest is Gildane at 1260 sprint, which ranks #27 of the 115 rideable Pals in the game — Ground has nothing in the top 25 and every one of its mounts is a ground-type ride, so no flying and no swimming. What it does own is the two extremes of the list: the earliest saddle in the game and the slowest mount in the game.

Rushoar's saddle unlocks at Tech Lv 6, the earliest of any mount in Palworld, and 800 sprint at that point in a run is transformative — this is the single most useful thing Ground does for a new save. At the other end, Polapup Terra is dead last of all 115 at 375 sprint, slower than sprinting on foot in most situations. For long crossings ignore raw speed and look at stamina: Aegidron carries 300 and Braloha 270, versus Dazemu's 100, which means the slower Pal often gets there first. The full ladder is on the Palworld mount speed list.

Best Ground Pals for Base Work

This is where Ground stops being mediocre and starts being essential. 57 Pals in the game have any Mining rating at all, and 30 of them are Ground — more than the other eight elements combined. The element also holds both records at the top of the job: Aegidron is the only Pal in Palworld with Mining Lv 8, and Knocklem is one of only two rated Transporting Lv 7. If your base is bottlenecked on ore, the answer is almost always a Ground Pal.

Dualith and Dualith Noct are the two S-tier workers here and the smart default, because five job types on one Pal means you stop rebuilding your roster every time you add a station. Knocklem is the specialist pick: Mining Lv 7 feeding Transporting Lv 7 is a one-Pal ore pipeline. Anubis and Sekhmet both cover Handiwork Lv 6, and Sekhmet is far easier to get — 360 wild pins against Anubis's 35. Cross-check any of them on the Palworld work optimizer, and see How to Farm Ore for the mining setup itself.

Where to Find Ground Pals

There are 8,159 Ground spawn points on the map across 42 Pals, and the desert is the answer to most of them. Duneshelter is the single densest region for eight different Ground Pals, holding 846 pins between them, with Anubis Dunes, Desert Backbone and Deep Sand Dunes filling out the same stretch. Turtacle Terra is the most common Ground Pal in the game at 773 pins, though it is scattered widely — its best single region is only 8.2% of its spawns. Every row links straight to that Pal's pins on our Palworld interactive map.

The concentration numbers are what to plan around. Lapiron puts 97.3% of its 37 pins in Farcry Marsh and Anubis is 100% on Sandstone Gate Islet, so those are single trips rather than searches. Compare that to Mammorest at 8.9% in Grassy Behemoth Hills — 484 pins spread thin enough that you will find one by accident long before you find the cluster. The Sakurajima and Feybreak stretches carry the later variants: Dumud Gild, Prixter, Kikit and Reptyro Cryst all live there.

All 20 Ground Alpha Markers

Ground has more field bosses than any other element — 20 alpha markers across 19 species, ahead of Dark's 19. Dualith is the oddity: it stands on the map twice, once at Lv 75 in the Feybreak area and again at Lv 55, so the same Pal is both a mid-game target and a late-game one. Two of these fights are the only way to own the Pal at all, since Aegidron and Moldron Cryst have no wild spawns.

Gumoss at Lv 11 and Dumud at Lv 14 are the two you can clear almost immediately, and Dumud's Soil Improver partner skill is genuinely useful at a young base. The Lv 55 band is the real checkpoint — Anubis, Knocklem, Tetroise, Menasting Terra and Dualith all sit there, and clearing it hands you the element's best worker, its best handiwork Pal and two 130+ defence walls in one sweep. Bring Grass damage to all of them; the level-ordered route is in Alpha Pal Hunting Route.

Rocky Eggs and Breeding

Eggs are colour-coded by element, so a Rocky Egg always hatches something off this list. The Huge Rocky Egg pool is nine Pals deep and eight of the nine roll from wild nests, which makes Rocky the second most farmable colour in the game behind Scorching. Feybreak grade 1 is the workhorse — 496 nests running at 5.50% for Rocky — while World Tree grade 1 is the best single pool at 7.14%. Only Anubis sits outside the nest system entirely.

Every one of those is an exclusive combo — the pairing overrides the normal breeding maths and produces that child and nothing else — and there is a pattern worth knowing: every "Terra" variant in the game is a Ground Pal, and every one of them comes from a combo on this list. Kikit is the most useful parent here, since it is the Ground half of both Gorirat Terra and Woolipop Terra, and Digtoise does the same job for Warsect Terra and Turtacle Terra. All of them also breed true with a second of their own species, so one capture solves the line permanently. Run anything not listed through the Palworld breeding calculator first.

How to Farm Ground Radiant Gems

Ground Radiant Gem is what awakening a Ground Pal costs, and the maths is steep: 50 gems plus 10 World Tree Holy Water make one Ground Awakening Crystal. Eight Pals drop the gem in real quantity — 10 to 20 per kill at a 100% rate — so the whole problem is finding one you can kill on a loop. Spawn count decides that, not the drop rate, and here the gap is enormous.

Sekhmet is the farm. 360 pins with a quarter of them clustered in Duneshelter, dropping the same 10–20 as everything else, and it is a Lv 5 rarity Pal rather than a boss. Tetroise at 325 pins in the same desert is the backup, and running both in one loop is the fastest route there is. Everything below them is a rounding error by comparison — Warsect drops the same gems off just 10 pins. Three more Pals drop the gem in ones and twos, and two of them are not even Ground: Wispaw and Mycora hand over 1–3 at a 50% rate, as does Polapup Terra. Expeditions pay out too — the World Tree Subterranean City Ruins returns 1–3 gems on a 25.1% roll over 60 minutes, and The World Tree's Forbidden Area 2–5 at 33.2% over 120. Other elements work the same way, and they are all in How to Farm Radiant Gems.

Gear and Passives That Boost Ground Damage

Two lines of accessories exist and they point in opposite directions. The batons and whistles go on the Pal fighting beside you and raise the Ground damage it deals; the rings go on you and cut the Ground damage you take. If you are building a Ground team the baton is the biggest single upgrade, because it stacks a flat attack bonus on top of the element bonus in one slot.

Earth Emperor's Baton is the one to build, and it is cheaper than most element batons — Horn and Bone instead of exotic ore, with 5 Ancient Civilization Cores as the only real gate. Anubis's Talisman is the alternative when your Ground Pal is already a wall and you would rather it never drop. Passives stack on top of all of this: Earth Emperor adds +30% Ground damage and Anubis is the only Pal that rolls it naturally, Power of Gaia adds +10%, and Earthquake Resistant cuts incoming Ground damage by 10%. The full list is on the Palworld passive skills page and the gear on the Palworld accessories list.

TipDo not build a Ground team to fight things — build one to hold things. Ground's only offensive bonus lands on Electric, the smallest roster in the game, so the element bonus is close to worthless as a plan. Its defence numbers are not: Aegidron at 140, Tetroise and Knocklem at 135, and five more at 120 or better. Pair one of those with an attacker of another element, keep a Grass counter benched for the fights where your Ground Pal is the liability, and you get the best of both. And if you are new: catch Rushoar and build its saddle at Tech Lv 6 — nothing else in the game moves you that fast that early.

Summary

Forty-four Pals carry Ground, the fourth-biggest element in the game, and it trades ceiling for durability: no S-tier fighter, no top-25 mount, the worst matchup trade on the chart — but the second-highest average defence, the most alpha markers of any element at 20, and complete ownership of mining. Anubis is the best single pick, Dualith and Dualith Noct are the S-tier workers, Aegidron is the only Mining Lv 8 Pal in Palworld, Sekhmet with its 360 pins is where you farm Ground Radiant Gem, and Rushoar at Tech Lv 6 is the earliest mount anyone can build.
