List of All 46 Grass Type Pals and Where to Find Them — Palworld Database

Grass has the best offensive matchup in Palworld and almost nobody plays it that way. Forty-six Pals carry the element — the third-largest roster in the game — and Grass is the only element whose bonus damage lands on two other elements at once, covering 88 Pals. This is every Grass Pal with its attack, HP, defence and spawn count, plus what Grass beats, the best fighters, the base-work roster it completely dominates, all 14 Grass alpha markers, the Verdant Egg combos, and where to farm Grass Radiant Gem.

All 46 Grass Type Pals

Forty-six of the game's 288 Pals wear Grass, and the roster leans heavily pure: 29 are Grass-only and just 17 are dual-element, the least mixed of the big three elements. Ground is the most common partner at six Pals, which is awkward, because Ground is one of the two things Grass is supposed to punish. Four pair with Dark, two each with Neutral, Dragon and Water, and one with Fire. The Attack column is the higher of each Pal's melee and ranged base value, and this is where Grass pays for its matchups — 101.3 average attack, second-lowest of the nine elements, against a 99.6 average HP that only Dragon beats.

Three of the forty-six never appear in the open world — Ophydia, Silvance and Dandilord. Ophydia at least stands on the map as a Lv 69 alpha; Silvance and Dandilord have no wild pins and no alpha marker at all, so a set boss fight is the only way to own either. That is 6.5% of the roster locked away, and it stings more here than elsewhere because those three are the element's best Pals outright. Dandilord leads on attack at 135, Mammorest has the most HP at 150, and Dualith's 125 defence tops the element.

Grass Type Strengths and Weaknesses

Grass gets the best trade on the Palworld type chart, and it is not close. It counters two elements — Ground and Water — which is 88 Pals, the largest target pool any element has, ahead of Fire's 84 and Dragon's 70. Only Fire punishes it back, and Fire is a 43-Pal roster. Every other element counters exactly one thing and gets countered by one thing; Grass doubles its upside while keeping a single weakness.

SituationDamageWhat it means for you
Your Grass move hits a Ground Pal~1.5×44 Pals, including most of the mid-game alphas you grind
Your Grass move hits a Water Pal~1.5×Another 47 Pals — no other element gets a second bonus this wide
A Fire move hits your Grass Pal~1.5× against youGrass's only weakness, and the reason Caprity melts in the volcano
Your Grass move hits another Grass PalReducedMatching elements get greyed-out numbers, never a bonus
A Fire move hits Broncherry Aqua or OphydiaMixedGrass/Water takes the bonus on its Grass half and resists on its Water half

The practical read: a Grass Pal is the safest single slot on a team, because roughly one in three Pals in the game hands it a bonus and only Fire ever turns the tables. The one trap is dual typing — six Grass Pals also carry Ground, so Mammorest, Braloha and Dualith take extra damage from the very element they are meant to counter. The full chart with every multiplier is in Super Effective and Resistance Explained, and remember the bonus keys off the move, not the Pal — a Neutral Pal holding Grass Skill Fruit: Wind Blast still punishes Ground and Water.

Best Grass Pals for Combat

Grass has depth but no summit. It puts zero Pals in the 14 S-tier slots on our Palworld tier list but six in A, which is fourth behind Dark and Ground on eight each and Dragon on seven. So there is no Grass Pal you build an account around, and the ones that come closest are exactly the three you cannot catch. Dandilord is the element's ceiling at 135 attack with 125 HP; below the boss-only tier, Lyleen at 120/120/110 is the strongest thing you can realistically walk up to and throw a sphere at.

PalTierClassElementsWhy Bring It
DandilordARangedGrass / DarkThe element's ceiling — 135 attack and 125 HP, more of both than anything else with Grass on it. Dark on the other half means Dragon moves hurt it. No wild spawns, boss-fight only.
SilvanceARangedGrass140 HP is the joint-highest in the element and it owns Spore Burst at 800 power, the strongest Grass move in the game. Also boss-only.
OphydiaARangedGrass / Water115 attack, 130 HP, 120 defence and the element's best mount in one Pal. Its Lotus Bloom is a 700-power melee exclusive. Lv 69 alpha.
LyleenARangedGrassThe best Grass Pal you can actually farm — a Lv 58 alpha with 120 attack, 120 HP, and the only natural Spirit Emperor passive (+30% Grass damage) in the game.
Wumpo BotanAMeleeGrass140 HP with 110 defence, rideable, and a Lv 38 alpha — by far the earliest A-tier Grass Pal on this list. Its partner skill also cuts incoming Ground damage.
DualithARangedGround / Grass125 defence is the highest in the element and Root Cannon is a 700-power shot only it learns. Its Ground half is the catch: Grass moves hit it for bonus.
VerdashBRangedGrass115 attack from a Lv 35 alpha, and Grassland Gymnast gives you an extra mid-air jump — the traversal is worth the slot on its own.
LeafanBRangedGrass115 attack and Raid Cutter, a 400-power exclusive. 105 wild pins makes it the cheapest 115-attack Grass Pal in the game.
PalumbaBRangedGrass115 defence with 105 HP and a rideable frame — the durable pick when you want to survive a Fire fight rather than win it fast.
ElgroveBRangedGrassRaging Bull Rush hits for 650, the highest-power Grass melee outside the boss-only Pals, and Mother Nature's Menace adds up to 50% ranged attack for you.
BralohaBMeleeGrass / Ground130 HP and 120 defence at 247 wild pins. A wall you can find early, as long as you keep it away from Grass damage.

If you are only levelling one, make it Lyleen. It is a Lv 58 alpha you will reach naturally, it is the only Pal in Palworld that rolls Spirit Emperor for +30% Grass damage as a natural passive, and Planting Lv 7 plus Gathering Lv 6 means it works your base between fights. Wumpo Botan is the early answer — Lv 38, 140 HP, rideable — and Ophydia is the endgame one, since it is the only Grass Pal that is simultaneously an A-tier fighter and the element's fastest mount.

The Strongest Grass Attack Skills

34 attack skills carry the Grass element, third of the nine behind Dark's 45 and Neutral's 35. The top of the list is unusually strong: Silvance's Spore Burst hits for 800, and exactly one move in the entire game hits harder than that. Three more Grass moves sit at 700. The catch is that every one of those four belongs to a single Pal. Power only compares inside a class, so read the melee entries against melee and the shots against shots.

Wind Burst is the one that matters, and Grass hands it out more freely than any element hands out a 600-power hit — 43 of the 46 Grass Pals learn it naturally, three non-Grass Pals get it too, and Grass Skill Fruit: Wind Blast bolts it onto anything else. The fruit is labelled Wind Blast in your inventory even though the skill itself reads Wind Burst, so do not go hunting for two separate items. Grass Skill Fruit: Solar Blast at 450 is the cheaper filler if you need a second Grass slot on a low cooldown. Everything above 600 is locked to one specific Pal, and two of those Pals do not spawn in the wild, so realistically your ceiling is Wind Blast plus whatever exclusive your alpha happens to own. The whole set with drop rates is in List of Grass Skill Fruits.

Best Grass Pals for Base Work

This is the section that actually justifies the element. Grass holds 8 of the 14 S-tier base worker slots in the game — more than every other element combined bar three — and it owns Planting outright: all 10 Pals with Planting Lv 5 or better are Grass, and 43 of the 45 Pals that can plant at all carry the element. If you farm crops, bake cakes for breeding, or run a medicine bench, your base is a Grass base whether you planned it or not.

PalBest JobLevelAll JobsWhy It Works
DandilordPlantingLv 8Planting 8, Handiwork 6, Medicine 6, Gathering 5The only Planting Lv 8 Pal in Palworld. One of these replaces two lesser planters and still does handiwork on the side.
SilvanceMedicine ProductionLv 8Medicine 8, Planting 6, Handiwork 6, Gathering 4The only Medicine Production Lv 8 Pal in the game, and it plants at Lv 6 too. The single best worker Grass has.
LyleenPlantingLv 7Planting 7, Gathering 6, Handiwork 5, Medicine 5Four jobs at Lv 5 or better and a Lv 58 alpha you can farm repeatedly — the best catchable worker in the element.
OphydiaPlantingLv 7Planting 7, Watering 5Planting Lv 7 and Watering Lv 5 in one body, so a single Pal runs both halves of a plantation.
DualithMiningLv 6Mining 6, Transporting 6, Lumbering 5The odd one out — a Grass Pal that mines at Lv 6 and hauls at Lv 6. Two Lv 55 and Lv 75 alpha markers to farm.
VerdashHandiworkLv 5Gathering 5, Handiwork 5, Planting 4Handiwork Lv 5 from a Lv 35 alpha. The earliest genuinely good Grass worker on the list.
MycoraPlantingLv 6Planting 6, Medicine 6, Handiwork 4, Gathering 4Planting and Medicine both at Lv 6, and Charming Spore raises the medicine rank of the Pal beside it.
Quivern BotanPlantingLv 5Planting 5, Gathering 4, Transporting 4Plants, gathers, hauls and flies. The most flexible Grass worker that is also a mount.
CarniboraPlantingLv 6Planting 6, Handiwork 4, Gathering 4Planting Lv 6 with only 11 wild pins, all but one of them in the Deep Sand Dunes. Worth the trip.
Wumpo BotanTransportingLv 6Transporting 6, Lumbering 5The best Grass hauler at Transporting Lv 6, and it rides. Lv 38 alpha.
ElizabeePlantingLv 4Planting 4, Handiwork 4, Gathering 4, Medicine 4Four jobs at Lv 4 and Queen Bee Command boosts your ranged attack. Pairs with Beegarde for the classic base combo.
VaeletPlantingLv 3Planting 3, Gathering 3120 defence and Purification of Gaia, which raises Ground-element item drops by up to 80% — a farming buff, not a work stat.

Build the base around Dandilord and Silvance if you have them, since between them they hold the only Lv 8 Planting and the only Lv 8 Medicine Production in Palworld. Neither spawns in the wild, so the realistic version of that base is Lyleen and Mycora — both farmable alphas, both covering planting and medicine at Lv 6-7. Add Wumpo Botan to haul and Dualith to mine and you have a Grass-only base that never needs another element. The job-by-job rankings are in Best Pals for Planting and Best Pals for Medicine Production.

Best Grass Mounts

Thirteen Grass Pals can be ridden, and twelve of them are ground mounts — Grass has exactly one flyer in the whole element. That is the weakest air presence of any large roster, so plan on a Dragon or Flying Pal for travel and use these for the ground work they are good at: hauling, sprinting between base nodes, and surviving. Sprint speed only compares within a mount class, so the flyer's 950 is not worse than the ground mounts' 1050.

Ophydia is the only Grass mount that is genuinely fast — 1500 sprint puts it 14th of the game's 115 mounts, and the next-best Grass Pal is 49 places behind it. The trade is a Tech Lv 72 saddle and a Lv 69 alpha fight, so most players ride Shroomer instead: 1050 sprint with 220 stamina at Tech Lv 39, which is the best speed-to-effort ratio in the element. If you care about distance rather than pace, Braloha's 270 stamina is the highest here by a clear margin. For actual air travel, see Best Flying Mounts.

Where to Find Grass Pals

Grass is the easiest element in the game to farm, because its spawns cluster into a handful of named zones you can park a base next to. 43 of the 46 have wild pins, and the density is real: Prunelia alone has 638 spawn points. Cinnamoth Forest, Mount Flopie Summit and Duneshelter between them cover a third of the list. The Share column is how much of that Pal's total spawn pool sits in its single busiest zone.

Two zones do most of the work. Cinnamoth Forest is the best single Grass farm in the gameBroncherry, Cinnamoth and Bristla all peak there, and Broncherry alone drops 10-20 Grass Radiant Gem per kill. Duneshelter is the other, holding roughly a quarter of both Needoll and Needoll Noct. If you want one Pal fast, Flopie is 61.6% concentrated on Mount Flopie Summit and Lullu is 100% inside the Secluded Cemetery, so neither takes more than a lap.

All 14 Grass Alpha Markers

Fourteen alpha markers carry Grass, which is mid-table — Ground has 20 and Dark 19 — but the spread is unusually friendly. There is a fight at Lv 11, another at Lv 23, and a steady ladder all the way to Lv 78, so you are never more than a few levels away from the next Grass upgrade. Dualith appears twice, at Lv 55 and again at Lv 75 in the Feybreak area, and Ophydia's Lv 69 marker is the only way to own the element's best mount.

Gumoss at Lv 11 is the first alpha most players ever beat, and Broncherry at Lv 23 is the one worth going out of your way for, since it hands you Planting Lv 5 and a mount in the same fight. The Lv 35-40 band is the real haul — Verdash, Wumpo Botan, Mammorest, Elizabee and Needoll all sit there, and clearing it gives you an A-tier fighter, the element's best hauler and a 484-pin gem farm in one sweep. Bring Fire damage to every one of them; the level-ordered route is in Alpha Pal Hunting Route.

Verdant Eggs and Breeding

Grass Pals hatch from Verdant Egg and its larger sizes, and the element has 17 exclusive breeding combos, of which 10 are a Pal pairing with itself — the highest self-breed share of any element, and the reason Grass is harder to build toward than its roster size suggests. That leaves seven real pairings, listed below. These are fixed results: these parents always produce this child, no matter what the ranking maths would otherwise say.

Three of those ten self-pairings have no alternative at all, and that is the bad news: Lyleen, Silvance and Dandilord only breed true from a pair of themselves, so breeding cannot create them from scratch. Everything else on the list is reachable — Robinquill Terra from Robinquill and Fuddler is the cheapest useful one, and Quivern Botan from Quivern and Lullu is how you get the element's only flying mount without hunting for its 59 wild pins. Run the numbers yourself on the Palworld Breeding Calculator, and if you need cake for the ranch, Broncherry's Love's First Blossom raises the odds of hatching an alpha by up to 45%.

How to Farm Grass Radiant Gems

Grass Radiant Gem is what you spend to awaken a Grass Pal, and you need 50 of them plus 10 World Tree Holy Water for a single Grass Awakening Crystal. Eighteen drop sources exist, but only nine give the big 10-20 stack, and the split is worth understanding: the large drop comes from ordinary kills on specific Pals, while the 1-3 trickle comes from boss versions and a handful of others.

Mammorest and Broncherry are the farm. Both drop 10-20 gems at a guaranteed 100% rate, both have well over 480 spawn pins, and both cluster tightly — Mammorest in Grassy Behemoth Hills, Broncherry in Cinnamoth Forest. At an average of 15 per kill you are four kills from a full Grass Awakening Crystal, which makes Grass one of the fastest elements in the game to awaken. Braloha on the Isle of Murmurs is the third option if you want a different route. Skip the 1-3 sources entirely unless you are killing those Pals anyway — the full element-by-element breakdown is in How to Farm Radiant Gems.

Gear and Passives That Boost Grass Damage

Two lines of accessories exist and they point in opposite directions. The batons and whistles go on the Pal fighting beside you and raise the Grass damage it deals; the rings go on you and cut the Grass damage you take. If you are building a Grass team the baton is the biggest single upgrade, because it stacks a flat attack bonus on top of the element bonus in one slot.

Spirit Emperor's Baton is the one to build, and both Grass accessories want 5 Beautiful Flower — a crop, not an ore, so a planting base pays for its own gear. Lyleen's Talisman is the alternative when your Grass Pal is already a wall. Passives stack on top: Spirit Emperor adds +30% Grass damage and Lyleen is the only Pal that rolls it naturally, Fragrant Foliage adds +10%, Botanical Barrier cuts incoming Grass damage by 10%, and Hartalis's Savior gives +30% to Grass and Neutral at once. The full list is on the Palworld passive skills page and the gear on the Palworld accessories list.

TipGrass is the element you bring to fight, not the one you bring to win a fight. Its bonus lands on 88 Pals — Ground and Water together, the widest coverage in the game — but its 101.3 average attack is second-lowest of the nine, so the matchup is doing the work, not the stat line. Put Grass Skill Fruit: Wind Blast on a high-attack Pal of another element and you get the coverage without the weak damage floor. Then keep a real Grass Pal at base, because that is where the element genuinely has no competition: 8 of the game's 14 S-tier workers and every Planting Lv 5+ Pal in Palworld.

Summary

Forty-six Pals carry Grass, the third-biggest element in the game, and it is the mirror image of most of the roster: the best matchups, the worst attack stats, and complete ownership of the base. Grass counters 88 Pals across Ground and Water, more than any other element reaches, while only Fire's 43 Pals punish it back. Lyleen is the best pick you can actually catch, Dandilord and Silvance are the boss-only ceiling and hold the game's only Planting Lv 8 and Medicine Production Lv 8, Ophydia is the only Grass mount worth riding at 1500 sprint, and Mammorest with its 484 pins is where you farm Grass Radiant Gem four kills at a time.
