How to Get the Moonflower Vertical Banner and Materials

The Moonflower Vertical Banner unlocks at player Level 55 for one Technology Point, but the cloth behind it costs 200 Wool and 20 Leather. Here is the node it hides in, the full material bill down to raw ore and coal, the fastest Pals to farm it, and how it compares to the other seven faction flag sets.

How to Get the Moonflower Vertical Banner and Materials — Palworld Database

The Moonflower Vertical Banner is the tall hanging cloth that puts the Sakurajima ninja clan's colours on your base wall, and it costs a single Technology Point at player Level 55. The point is the easy part — this guide covers the node it is buried in, the 200 Wool and 20 Leather hiding behind its cloth, where to farm all of it, and where the set lands against the other seven factions.

Moonflower Vertical Banner at a Glance

Searching the tech tree for "Vertical Banner" gets you nowhere, because the banner does not exist as its own node. It lives inside Moonflower Flag Set, which hands over two buildables at once: this wall-hung banner and the free-standing Moonflower Standard. One point buys both, and there is no way to take one without the other. Everything you need is below.

How to Unlock the Moonflower Flag Set at Level 55

Reach player Level 55, open the Palworld technology tree, and spend 1 Technology Point on the Moonflower Flag Set. Nothing gates it — no parent node, no boss kill, no Moonflower camp to clear, and you do not need to have set foot on Sakurajima. The competition is what stings. Eight nodes land on the Level 55 shelf, and the seven ordinary ones add up to 22 Technology Points between them, with an eighth priced in Ancient Technology Points instead. Against a 5-point armor and two 4-point unlocks, the flag set is the one purchase you can make without pushing anything else back a level.

Build Materials and the Raw Resource Bill

The banner asks for 10 Refined Ingot, 10 Fiber and 20 High Quality Cloth. Two of those are pocket change: the Fiber is five Wood at any workbench, and ten Refined Ingot is 20 Ore plus 20 Coal through an Improved Furnace, which you unlocked twenty-one levels earlier at Technology 34. The High Quality Cloth is the entire cost of this banner. Each one is 10 Wool and 1 Leather at a High-Quality Workbench, so twenty of them is 200 Wool and 20 Leather — five times the wool of the early-game faction banners, which use plain Cloth at two Wool apiece.

Where to Farm the 200 Wool

Wool comes off three Pals on a Ranch, and at 200 units the one you pick actually matters. Melpaca is the pick: it sits at Farming level 2 and drops the biggest bundle of the three at 2–5 Wool, so it clears the bill in roughly half the cycles a Lamball needs. Lamball is still the one most players have a stack of — it is the Grassland starter with the widest spawn spread on the map — but Farming level 1 and 1–3 Wool per drop makes it the slow option. Cremis matches Melpaca's Farming level but drops the least, so it is a filler rather than a choice. Put two or three of them on the ranch together and the wool piles up while you do something else; there is no quality difference between them, only throughput.

Wool PalFarming levelWool per dropSpawn spots on the map
Melpaca22–5270 spawn spots
Lamball11–3351 spawn spots
Cremis21–2200 spawn spots

Where to Farm the 20 Leather

Leather does not come from a ranch — you take it off Pals you defeat, and dozens of them drop it. The one worth going out of your way for is Mammorest at 5–10 Leather a kill, double the next best and backed by the widest spawn spread of any Leather source in the game. Four or five of them covers the whole banner. If you would rather not hunt a boss-sized Grass Pal, Roujay gives 3–4 apiece, and Eikthyrdeer and Nitewing are the convenience picks — only 2–3 each, but they are everywhere in the starting regions and you kill them by accident anyway.

Leather PalLeather per killSpawn spots on the map
Mammorest5–10484 spawn spots
Roujay3–480 spawn spots
Eikthyrdeer2–3227 spawn spots
Nitewing1–3227 spawn spots

The Moonflower Standard and Building Both

The Standard is the planted pole version and the other half of your single point. It doubles the metal to 20 Refined Ingot — 40 Ore and 40 Coal — while the fiber and cloth stay identical, so build the banner first if your coal is thin. Taking both pieces costs 60 Ore, 60 Coal, 10 Wood, 400 Wool and 40 Leather all in. Unlike the Rayne Syndicate, the Moonflower have no cheap third flag hiding outside the node, so these two are the whole set.

TipBuy the node the moment you hit 55 and let the cloth catch up later. The point is free by Level 55 standards, but 200 Wool per banner is a genuine farm — get a Melpaca ranch running in the background and check back once you have the Leather. The Level 55 shelf also holds the Japanese-Style Furniture Set for two points, and those thirteen pieces are what the banner is actually meant to hang above.

Who the Moonflower Are

Flying this one over your base is a small joke at your own expense, because the Moonflower are the ninja clan that comes to raid it. They are the human raid faction of Sakurajima, and unlike the Rayne Syndicate — who hit two biomes — Moonflower waves only show up at bases built on the volcanic island. The detail that catches people out is the level floor: even the smallest band sends Level 40 Genin, so a brand-new Sakurajima outpost gets hit by the same tier of enemy that a fully built one does, just fewer of them. Their five bands scale from six Genin up to thirty Jonin across three waves, and the payout scales with them — the top band is worth over 106,000 XP, a guaranteed Training Crystal and up to 300 Dog Coin. Full wave lists sit on the Palworld base raids page.

All Eight Faction Flag Sets Compared

Every faction flag set in the game costs exactly one Technology Point, so the only things separating them are when they unlock and what the cloth is made of — and that second one is where the gap is enormous. The three earliest sets build on plain Ingot and Cloth; PIDF at 39 switches the metal to Refined Ingot and drags Coal into the recipe; and from the PAL Genetic Research Unit at 50 upward, the cloth becomes High Quality Cloth. That single swap takes a banner from 40 Wool to 200 Wool plus 20 Leather. Moonflower sits sixth by unlock level and shares an identical recipe with the three sets around it, so if you want a top-tier banner and have the levels for any of them, pick on looks rather than cost. Note that Moonflower keeps the Standard and Vertical Banner naming while the two island factions call theirs Flag and Banner — the node works the same either way.

Is the Moonflower Banner Worth a Technology Point?

Short version: buy the node, build the cloth when you feel like it. The banner does nothing mechanically — no defence, no work speed, no comfort — so this is pure decoration, and the honest cost is not the Technology Point but the 200 Wool and 20 Leather behind twenty High Quality Cloth. What makes it worth grabbing anyway is that one point is the tree's floor price, the node never expires, and it is the only Level 55 purchase that does not delay something you actually use in a fight. Where it earns its keep is next to the Japanese-Style Furniture Set on the same shelf: a Japanese-style hot spring with Moonflower banners on the walls is one of the better-looking builds in the game. Pair it with a good plot from the best base locations and you have a reason to keep the wool coming.
