How to Get the PIDF Standard and Flag Set Materials
The PIDF Standard unlocks at player Level 39 for a single Technology Point, and it is the last faction flag you can build without High Quality Cloth. Here is the exact build cost down to raw ore and wool, the Vertical Banner bundled into the same node, the ten-man PIDF roster, and the Level 80 raid the badge brings with it.

The PIDF Standard is the planted flagpole that flies the island police's colours over your own camp, and it comes out of a Level 39 Technology node rather than any loot table. This guide covers the unlock and its point cost, the full build bill down to raw ore and wool, the Vertical Banner bundled into the same node, who the PIDF actually are, and the one raid they run that ignores your base level completely.
PIDF Standard at a Glance
The Standard has no node of its own. It sits inside one called PIDF Flag Set, which hands over two pieces for the same point — the planted Standard and the tall PIDF Vertical Banner. That makes it impossible to unlock half the set or miss the banner. What makes this particular set worth building is the shopping list: it lands at Level 39, the highest unlock of any flag set that still asks for plain Cloth instead of the wool-hungry high-quality tier.

How to Unlock the PIDF Flag Set at Level 39
Hit player Level 39, open the Palworld technology tree, and buy the PIDF Flag Set for 1 Technology Point. There is no prerequisite node, no boss to clear, no PIDF officer to talk to — the row unlocks on level alone. The reason to think twice is what shares the shelf with it: nine nodes want 23 points between them at Level 39, and two of them genuinely matter. Ore Mining Site II is the upgrade that keeps your Refined Ingot supply from bottlenecking, and Refined Metal Chest is the storage tier you will live in for the next twenty levels. The flag set is the only one-point buy on the row, so it delays neither.
| Level 39 technology | Points | What it gives you |
|---|---|---|
| PIDF Flag Set | 1 | The Standard and the Vertical Banner |
| 3 | The upgraded ore farm that feeds your Refined Ingot | |
| 3 | The mid-game storage tier | |
| 3 | Close-range gun, built at the Weapon Assembly Line | |
| 2 | The ammo that gun eats | |
| 3 | Sphere module that curves your throws | |
Astegon Saddle | 4 | Flying mount saddle for Astegon |
Shroomer Saddle | 2 | Ground mount saddle for Shroomer |
Shroomer Noct Saddle | 2 | Saddle for the dark variant, Shroomer Noct |
Build Materials and What They Cost in Raw Resources
The Standard asks for 20 Refined Ingot, 10 Fiber and 20 Cloth. None of it is exotic. Refined Ingot is two Ore and two Coal apiece in an Improved Furnace, a Level 34 node you bought five levels before this one, so the flagpole's metal is 40 Ore and 40 Coal you are already mining. The cloth is where the other sets hurt and this one does not — plain Cloth is two Wool at a Primitive Workbench, so twenty of them is 40 Wool total, one fifth of what the PAL Genetic Research Unit Standard demands. A single ranch clears this bill overnight.
| Material | Qty | Where it comes from |
|---|---|---|
| 20 | Improved Furnace — 2 Ore + 2 Coal each, from 1,632 mapped ore nodes and 824 coal nodes | |
| 10 | Primitive Workbench — 1 Wood makes 2, or chop it off any of 4,654 lumber nodes | |
| 20 | Primitive Workbench — 2 Wool each, so 40 Wool for the lot |
Where to Farm the 40 Wool
Wool comes off a Ranch, a Level 5 node for 2 points that you have owned since the tutorial hours. Three Pals drop Wool on it, and the one to grab is whichever you can find fastest rather than whichever has the higher rank — a ranch Pal produces on a timer, so quantity of bodies beats quality of body. Lamball has the widest presence on the map by a clear margin and is a rank 1 producer, which makes it the default; Melpaca and Cremis are rank 2 and worth swapping in if you already have them. Four or five of any of them keep 40 Wool trivial. Note the two candy sheep on the ranch list produce sweets, not Wool, so do not pen a Woolipop and expect cloth out of it.
| Ranch Pal | Produces | Ranch rank | Spawn spots |
|---|---|---|---|
Lamball | Wool | 1 | 351 — the most common wool Pal in the game |
Melpaca | Wool | 2 | 270 |
Cremis | Wool | 2 | 200 |
The PIDF Vertical Banner Comes Free With It
The second piece in the node is the Vertical Banner, a tall hanging cloth version of the same insignia. It is the cheaper of the two — ten Refined Ingot instead of twenty, everything else identical — which is the pattern every faction set follows. Building both is 30 Refined Ingot, 20 Fiber and 40 Cloth, and if you are decorating a wall rather than a courtyard the Banner is the one you actually want. Neither piece does anything mechanically; they are pure set dressing, and they will not stop or slow a single raider.
| Piece | Refined Ingot | Fiber | Cloth | Raw cost |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 20 | 10 | 20 | 40 Ore · 40 Coal · 5 Wood · 40 Wool | |
| 10 | 10 | 20 | 20 Ore · 20 Coal · 5 Wood · 40 Wool | |
| Both, one Technology Point | 30 | 20 | 40 | 60 Ore · 60 Coal · 10 Wood · 80 Wool |
Who the PIDF Actually Are
The faction on the flag is the islands' law enforcement, and they field ten distinct trooper types — the deepest roster of any faction in the game, ahead of the Syndicate. What separates them is armament rather than stats: the PIDF are the only faction whose line-up runs all the way from a Katana up to a Missile Launcher, which is why their raids hit from every range at once. The Rifleman is the backbone with nine visual variants, and the four heavy roles — Veteran, Cleaner, Rocketeer and Interceptor — are the ones that will chew through your walls. You can see the whole cast, plus every other faction, on the Palworld NPC list.
| PIDF unit | Weapon | Variants |
|---|---|---|
| PIDF Rifleman | Assault Rifle · Bow Gun · Handgun | 9 |
| PIDF Guard | Handgun | 2 |
| PIDF Elite | Shotgun | 3 |
| PIDF Blader | Katana | 1 |
| PIDF Rioter | Bow Gun | 1 |
| PIDF Technophile | Laser Rifle | 1 |
| PIDF Veteran | Grenade Launcher | 1 |
| PIDF Cleaner | Flame Thrower | 1 |
| PIDF Rocketeer | Rocket Launcher | 1 |
| PIDF Interceptor | Missile Launcher | 1 |
Counterfeit Investigations: The Raid the Badge Brings
Every other faction raids your base on a five-tier ladder that scales with your base level and sticks to one region. The PIDF do not. They have exactly one raid group, Counterfeit Investigations, it covers base levels 1 through 80, it can fire in all eight biomes, and every single trooper in it arrives at Level 80 regardless of where you are. The trigger is in the fine print of the Gold Coin Assembly Line — a Level 73 node for 4 points that manufactures Gold Coin and warns you outright that building it may draw severe scrutiny from the PIDF. Print money, get a police raid. It is 35 troopers across three waves, so do not build the assembly line in a base you have not walled and turreted.
| Wave | Squad | Enemies | Level |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Rifleman ×2 · Guard ×2 · Elite ×2 · Blader ×2 | 8 | 80 |
| 2 | Technophile ×3 · Rioter ×3 · Veteran ×3 · Blader ×3 | 12 | 80 |
| 3 | Rifleman ×3 · Technophile ×3 · Cleaner ×3 · Rocketeer ×3 · Interceptor ×3 | 15 | 80 |
Surviving it pays properly. The clear is worth 106,470 EXP, the same top-band payout as a Level 61-80 faction raid, and the drop list is guaranteed rather than rolled — all three rewards land at 100%. The Training Crystal alone is the reason to take the fight instead of unplugging the machine, since it is a flat free level on any Pal you like.
| Reward | Amount | Chance |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 100% | |
| 200–300 | 100% | |
| 10–20 | 100% |
That Dog Coin payout is the part worth circling. 200 to 300 per clear off a repeatable raid puts it well ahead of hunting the 128 Dog Coin pickups scattered around the map, and it stacks with everything in the Dog Coin farming guide. Full wave-by-wave breakdowns for every other faction are on the Palworld base raids page.
All Eight Faction Flag Sets Compared
Every faction flag set costs exactly one Technology Point, so the only real differences are the level they show up at and what they are made from. There is a hard line at Level 50: everything below it uses plain Cloth at 2 Wool a piece, everything from the lab coats upward wants High Quality Cloth at 10 Wool plus a Leather. The PIDF set sits right under that line, which makes it the best-looking flag you can put up for a rock-bottom 40 Wool. It is also the only cheap set that uses Refined Ingot rather than base Ingot, so it reads a tier more expensive than it is. If you want a faction flag tonight and you are past Level 39, this is the one to build.
| Faction set | Tech Lv | Points | Standard materials |
|---|---|---|---|
| 11 | 1 | 20 Ingot · 10 Fiber · 20 Cloth | |
| 20 | 1 | 20 Wood · 10 Fiber · 20 Cloth | |
| 28 | 1 | 20 Ingot · 10 Fiber · 20 Cloth | |
| 39 | 1 | 20 Refined Ingot · 10 Fiber · 20 Cloth | |
| 50 | 1 | 20 Refined Ingot · 10 Fiber · 20 High Quality Cloth | |
| 55 | 1 | 20 Refined Ingot · 10 Fiber · 20 High Quality Cloth | |
| 60 | 1 | 20 Refined Ingot · 10 Fiber · 20 High Quality Cloth | |
| 71 | 1 | 20 Refined Ingot · 10 Fiber · 20 High Quality Cloth |
Should You Build It?
Buy the node without thinking about it — one point, on a row where nothing else is that cheap, and it comes with a second piece attached. Building it is an easy yes too, which is not something you can say about the later sets. Eighty Wool for both pieces is a couple of ranch cycles, the ore and coal are already flowing by Level 39, and there is no High Quality Cloth tax. The catch is purely thematic: a flag does nothing for defence, work speed or SAN, so it earns its slot only if you like the look. If you are theming a base around the PIDF, the best base locations guide has the flat build sites worth planting it on, and the 48 enemy camps on our map are where the faction's own outposts sit.
