How to Unlock the Faux Golden Foliage Set

Reach character level 16, open the technology tree and spend a single point on the Faux Golden Foliage Set — all four pieces then sit permanently in the Furniture tab of your build menu. Level 16 is a light row by the standards of what comes later: clearing every normal-point technology on it costs 9 points total, and the Heat Resistant Pelt Armor alone eats 3 of them. If you are heading for the volcano, buy that armor first and the trees second — the decoration is one point and it will still be there next level. The Lockpicking Tool v1 on this row does not compete for the same budget at all, since it costs an Ancient Technology Point, which is a separate currency you only get from bosses.

The three trees are variants A, B and C of the same yellow autumn tree at a flat 20 Wood each, and planting all three in a row is what stops a line of them reading as copy-paste. The Faux Golden Bush is the odd one out: it wants 20 Fiber instead, which you craft from 10 Wood on a workbench, making it the cheapest piece in the set by half. Build bushes freely as filler around the edge of a base and save the trees for the sightlines people actually walk through.

How to Farm the 60 Wood

Here is the thing that shapes every method below: no Pal in the game drops Wood when you beat it or catch it. It comes off trees, out of a Logging Site, or out of a trader's inventory, and that is the whole list. The good news at level 16 is that trees are everywhere — our Palworld interactive map pins 4,654 lumber nodes across the islands with the Lumber layer switched on, and 60 Wood is a few minutes of swinging. Do it by hand tonight if you just want the trees; build the facility if you plan to keep decorating.

Chop Trees With the Best Axe You Have

The Metal Axe unlocks at technology level 11 for 2 points, so by 16 it should already be the axe on your belt in place of the Stone Axe you started with. It costs 20 Wood, 15 Stone and 15 Ingot to craft, and the next tier up — the Refined Metal Axe — is not available until level 34. That makes the Metal Axe your ceiling for a long stretch, which is exactly why the mount trick below matters more than the tool does at this stage.

Ride Eikthyrdeer While You Chop

Eikthyrdeer is the single biggest Wood multiplier available this early. Its Guardian of the Forest partner skill boosts your logging by +220% at skill rank 1 and up to +500% once you condense it to rank 5, and it is a mount, so you chop from the saddle and keep moving. The saddle unlocks at technology level 12, four levels below this set, and Eikthyrdeer spawns from level 6 across 227 points including 36 around Islandhopper Coast — you can have one long before you need it. Its Ground variant, Eikthyrdeer Terra, trades the multiplier for a partner skill that raises Lumbering rank instead, which is the better pick once your Wood is coming from the base rather than your own axe.

Build the Logging Site

The Logging Site is the facility that produces Wood on its own, and it unlocks all the way back at technology level 7, so it is almost certainly already sitting in your base by 16. It costs 50 Wood, 20 Stone and 10 Paldium Fragment to build, and it pays that back fast because it never stops. Staff it with the highest Lumbering ranks you own — 63 Pals can work the job in total, topping out at rank 8, but nothing near that ceiling is catchable at your level. Dinossom at rank 3 is the realistic best for a level 16 player, and it is not close: it starts appearing at level 10 across 262 spawn points, 48 of them clustered on the Eastern Wild Island.

Everything else on this list is filler you slot in until Dinossom shows up. Arsox and Eikthyrdeer tie at rank 2 and both do other jobs well enough to earn a base slot anyway, while Lifmunk and Tanzee at rank 1 are the ones you already caught in the first hour. The upgrade to plan for is Mammorest at rank 4 — it is the widest-spread strong logger in the game at 968 spawn points, but it does not appear below level 26, so it is a target for after this set rather than a way to pay for it.

Buy Wood From the Wandering Trader

Wood costs 12 Gold a unit and the Wandering Trader is the only merchant who stocks it — the Village, Desert and Volcano shops all skip it. That puts the three trees at 720 Gold and the whole set at 840 if you buy the bush's Wood too, which is genuinely cheap money even at level 16. It is the laziest option on this page and there is nothing wrong with taking it, especially if you are decorating a base you have already finished building.

How to Get the 20 Fiber for the Golden Bush

Fiber crafts from Wood at two per one on a workbench, so the bush is really a 10 Wood purchase and you should not think about it any harder than that. If you would rather pick it up off the ground, nine Pals drop Fiber and every one of them drops it on 100% of kills and captures — there is no rate to fish for. Two of the three best droppers are already in range at level 16: Hoocrates and Hangyu both give 5-10 per drop, so two or three of either covers the bush outright. Hoocrates only comes out at night, so a daytime sweep will find none of them; Hangyu is around at all hours and is the safer trip.

How to Actually Use the Autumn Trees

Yellow reads as autumn, and the map has no autumn biome — which is the whole appeal. Nowhere in the world looks like this set, so a base planted with Golden Foliage stands out in a way the green Faux Greenery pieces never will, since those just blend into the grassland you already built on. The obvious pairing is the Faux Crimson Foliage Set two levels below it: red and yellow together sell the season properly, and between the two sets you are looking at eight pieces for two points and 120 Wood plus change.

Mix in the Faux Rock from the Crimson set for ground texture and the Faux Golden Bush along path edges, and keep the trees off your walkable routes — they have collision, and a tree planted in a doorway is a tree you cannot remove for materials later. Placement is permanent in the sense that matters: you get nothing back.

Is the Golden Foliage Set Worth a Point?

Yes, if you care what your base looks like. One point for four pieces is the best rate the technology tree offers, the materials are the two cheapest in the game, and there is no other way to get autumn colour anywhere on the islands. Skip it if you are pushing progression hard, because nothing here produces, stores, buffs or defends anything, and level 16 is the row where 3 points of Heat Resistant Pelt Armor is the difference between surviving the volcano and not. The sensible order is armor first, trees the level after — they will still be one point when you get back.
