How to Get the Ancient Clinic: Level 73 and Materials
The Ancient Clinic in Palworld: technology level 73 for 4 points, all four build materials and the raw pile behind them, how it beats the basic Clinic, and the best Medicine Production Pals to staff it.

The Ancient Clinic is the level 73 endgame replacement for the basic Clinic, and it is the strongest health structure you can put in a base. This guide covers the technology cost, all four build materials and the raw pile underneath them, what it actually does differently, and which Medicine Production Pals are worth the worker slot it eats.
Ancient Clinic at a Glance
Two things surprise people here. First, it costs ordinary technology points, not Ancient Technology Points — despite the name and the Ancient Civilization Core in the recipe, you unlock it from the normal side of the tree, so no boss farming for unlock currency. Second, it draws no electricity at all, which is unusual for a level 73 structure and means you can drop it in a satellite base with no generator. What it does cost is a Medicine Production worker slot, exactly like the basic Clinic, plus a genuinely heavy material bill that leans on three different endgame regions.

How to Unlock the Ancient Clinic
Reach character level 73, open the Palworld technology tree, and spend 4 points. The level 73 row asks for 20 points across five technologies, which is one of the heavier rows in the back half of the tree, so you will probably not clear it in one go. If you have to pick, the Ancient Clinic and the Ancient Pal Bed are the pair that actually change how your base runs every day — the Laser Sword and Bastigor's Hammer are combat toys you may already have better replacements for, and the Gold Coin Assembly Line only makes sense once you have Soralite Ingot production running at scale. If the row leaves you short, how to get more technology points covers the fastest ways to bank more.
| Technology at Lv. 73 | Points | Take it? |
|---|---|---|
| Ancient Clinic | 4 | Yes — the best health structure in the game, and it needs no power |
| Ancient Pal Bed | 3 | Yes — cheapest thing on the row and it pairs directly with the clinic |
| Gold Coin Assembly Line | 4 | Later — 100 Soralite Ingot a unit is steep while you are still building |
| Laser Sword | 5 | Only if you actually melee; costs 250 Paldium Fragment and 3 AI Core |
| Bastigor's Hammer | 4 | Only if you use it — 50 Ice Organ on top of 30 Soralite Ingot |
All Build Materials and Where to Get Them
Four materials, and three of them come from places you only reach late. The Soralite Ingot is the big line — 50 of them means 100 Soralite and 100 Pure Quartz through an Ancient Furnace. World Tree Holy Water and Ancient Civilization Core cannot be crafted at all, so those 45 and 10 are pure farming. The Computer line is the one you may already have stockpiled from earlier builds. Gather the Holy Water and Cores first — they are the slowest, and the ingots go fast once a furnace is running.
| Material | Qty | Where it comes from | Recipe per unit | Raw total |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 50 | Ancient Furnace (Lv. 66) | 2 Soralite + 2 Pure Quartz | 100 Soralite, 100 Pure Quartz | |
| 45 | Field drops in the World Tree | Cannot be crafted | 45 — roughly 5-9 pickups | |
| 15 | Production Assembly Line II (Lv. 42) | 2 Circuit Board + 3 Plasteel + 2 Bio Battery + 2 Carbon Fiber | 30 Circuit Board, 45 Plasteel, 30 Bio Battery, 30 Carbon Fiber | |
| 10 | Oil rigs, relic recycling, World Tree chests | Cannot be crafted | 10 |
Soralite Ingot: 100 Soralite and 100 Pure Quartz
Soralite only exists up in the sky islands, and there are 226 nodes of it across the map — a small number compared to the 607 Pure Quartz nodes on the ground, so Soralite is the half that gates you. Two nodes' worth of mining per ingot adds up quickly at 50 ingots, so it is worth setting a base near a cluster and letting a mining crew work it. Expeditions are the hands-off alternative: the Sunreach Isle run brings back 30-50 Soralite per trip on a 60-minute timer, which is the single best passive source in the game for it. Supply drops in Sunreach Isle also carry 30-40 every time.
| Material | Need | Best source | Backup |
|---|---|---|---|
| 100 | 226 Soralite nodes on the map | Sunreach Isle expedition (Hard, 60 min): 30-50 per run | |
| 100 | 607 Pure Quartz nodes on the map | Astral Frost Cavern expedition (Hard, 60 min): 20-40 per run |
Smelting happens at the Ancient Furnace, which is its own project: level 66, 100 Coralum Ingot, 20 Thermal Core, 30 Computer and 10 Ancient Civilization Core, and it pulls 3,000 power. It also wants Pals with both Kindling and Cooling suitability on it, since it melts and quench-cools in the same cycle. If you are building the Ancient Clinic you almost certainly already have one, because nothing else refines Soralite.
World Tree Holy Water: 45 from the World Tree Floor
This is the easiest of the four to farm and the most annoying to get to. World Tree Holy Water drops from the field in the World Tree at a flat 100% rate in stacks of 5-10, so the 45 you need is somewhere between five and nine pickups — one focused run, not a grind. The gate is access: you have to clear the boss guarding the entrance first, which how to beat Panthalus and enter the World Tree walks through. Grab extra while you are in there, because the Ancient Pal Bed and the Ancient Hot Spring both want it too, and the full World Tree Holy Water source list has the rest of the pickup spots.
Ancient Civilization Cores: 10 Needed
Cores are the one material with real variance, so pick your source by what you already run. Oil rig raids are the highest-volume option — crates there carry 1-5 at a time with better than a coin-flip chance per crate — while the Ancient Relic Recycler is the reliable one if you have relics piling up: Glistening Ancient Relics convert at a 41.5% chance for 5-10 cores, so two lucky recycles cover the whole build. The dependable floor is the World Tree treasure chests, which hand over 1-3 every single time. Ten is not many, and the full Ancient Civilization Core guide lists every remaining source if you want to top up in bulk.
| Source | Amount | Chance |
|---|---|---|
| Crates on the oil rigs | 1-5 | 55.0% |
| Crates on the large oil rig | 1-5 | 44.1% |
| Treasure chests in the World Tree | 1-3 | 100% |
| Recycling Glistening Ancient Relics | 5-10 | 41.5% |
| Recycling Glowing Ancient Relics | 5-10 | 34.6% |
| Recycling Gorgeous Ancient Relics | 5-10 | 28.8% |
| Fishing the treasure spots in the World Tree | 1-3 | 63.6% |
What the Ancient Clinic Does
The job is the same as the basic Clinic's — a staffed medical station that cuts SAN depletion and heads off illness and injury among your base workers before they happen — but the Ancient version is described in game as offering significantly greater protective capability, and it keeps hygiene at its ceiling even in bases running harsh conditions. That last part is the real argument for it: a 20-Pal endgame base with an ore pit, a furnace line and no downtime is exactly the kind of setup where the level 24 Clinic stops keeping up. Pocketpair has never published the underlying percentages for either version, so treat the gap as large but unquantified.
Both versions occupy one Pal on Medicine Production, and both need only Lv. 1 suitability to run, so upgrading costs you nothing extra in labour — the same worker just does a better job. There is no reason to keep the old Clinic standing once the Ancient one is up unless your base is big enough to want two coverage points.
| Spec | Ancient Clinic | Clinic |
|---|---|---|
| Technology level | Lv. 73 | Lv. 24 |
| Technology points | 4 | 2 |
| Materials | 50 Soralite Ingot, 45 World Tree Holy Water, 15 Computer, 10 Ancient Civilization Core | 10 Wooden Board, 20 Cloth, 15 Nail |
| Worker | Medicine Production Lv. 1+ | Medicine Production Lv. 1+ |
| Power draw | None | None |
| Protection | Top tier — holds hygiene up under harsh base conditions | Basic — described in game as having clear sanitation limits |
Best Medicine Production Pals to Staff It
Medicine Production is one of the rarest work suitabilities in the game — only 43 Pals have it at all, and just 11 reach Lv. 5 or better. Silvance is the only Lv. 8 in existence and the obvious pick, and its Lv. 6 Planting and Handiwork mean the slot is never idle. If you are staffing several bases at once, Lyleen Noct is the best Lv. 7 you can realistically catch or breed — Bellanoir Libero matches it but is a raid boss, so treat that one as a trophy rather than a plan. Dandilord is the efficiency pick for a base that also farms, since Lv. 8 Planting on the same body means one Pal covers the clinic and the plantation.
| Pal | Medicine Production | Other jobs | Why it works |
|---|---|---|---|
Silvance | Lv. 8 | Planting 6, Handiwork 6 | The only Lv. 8 in the game — nothing else is close |
Lyleen Noct | Lv. 7 | Gathering 6, Handiwork 5 | Best Lv. 7 you can actually catch or breed |
Bellanoir Libero | Lv. 7 | Handiwork 6, Transporting 4 | Raid-boss tier — great if you have one, not something to plan around |
Dandilord | Lv. 6 | Planting 8, Handiwork 6 | Covers the clinic and the plantation on one slot |
Selyne | Lv. 6 | Handiwork 7, Transporting 3 | Strongest all-round base body on this list |
Wistella | Lv. 6 | Handiwork 6, Transporting 1 | Common and cheap to breed — the stopgap pick |
Mycora | Lv. 6 | Planting 6, Handiwork 4 | Pairs clinic duty with berry farming |
Venusa | Lv. 5 | Handiwork 6, Gathering 6 | Fine filler when your best bodies are busy elsewhere |
Assign whoever you land on directly to the structure rather than leaving them to base wandering, and check the full Medicine Production Pal list for the other 35 options.
Build These Alongside It
The Ancient Clinic is one piece of an endgame health cluster, and the cheapest piece of that cluster sits on the very same technology row. The Ancient Pal Bed costs 3 points and a trivial 10 Soralite Ingot, 3 Mythical Wood and 2 World Tree Holy Water — build it the moment you unlock it, because sleep quality feeds straight back into the illness rate the clinic is fighting. The Ancient Hot Spring three levels later handles SAN recovery, and the Advanced Medicine Workbench is where the actual medicine gets made. Put all of them within short walking distance of your work floor so nobody spends half a shift pathing across the base.
| Structure | Tech level | Materials | What it adds |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lv. 73 | 10 Soralite Ingot, 3 Mythical Wood, 2 World Tree Holy Water | The best bed in the game and the cheapest thing on this row | |
| Lv. 76 | 100 Paloxite Ingot, 20 Thermal Core, 20 Cryogenic Coolant, 10 World Tree Holy Water | Endgame SAN recovery — the other half of morale upkeep | |
| Lv. 24 | 20 Ingot, 5 Cloth, 3 Wooden Board | Self-serve cures for Pals that got sick anyway; no worker slot | |
| Lv. 61 | 50 Hexolite, 50 Plasteel, 30 Circuit Board | Makes every medicine tier including Revival Potion; needs 1,000 power | |
| Lv. 38 | 30 Refined Ingot, 20 High Quality Cloth, 10 Corrosive Solvent | Rewrites passives and gender — not a healing structure |
Summary
Short version: hit level 73, spend 4 regular technology points, and bring 50 Soralite Ingot, 45 World Tree Holy Water, 15 Computer and 10 Ancient Civilization Core. The ingots mean 100 Soralite and 100 Pure Quartz through an Ancient Furnace, the Holy Water is one World Tree run, and the Cores come off oil rigs or the relic recycler. Staff it with Silvance if you have one, put the Ancient Pal Bed beside it, and keep a stocked Medicine Rack nearby for the Pals that slip through — at that point base illness stops being a thing you manage.
