How to Gather Resources at the World Tree: All 9 Sources

World Tree nodes vanish the moment you walk up to them unless you drink World Tree Holy Water or run one of the 7 passives that ignore the rule. Every Paloxite, Mythical Wood, Ancient Relic and Radiant Gem source in the region, with drop rates and map pin counts.

How to Gather Resources at the World Tree: All 9 Sources — Palworld Database

The World Tree hands out the three materials every Tech Lv 74+ build is made of — Paloxite, Mythical Wood and Ancient Relics — and then hides all of them behind one rule nobody explains: the nodes disappear as you approach. This covers the rule and how to switch it off, then all nine sources in the region with their real drop rates, pin counts and payouts.

Why World Tree Nodes Vanish When You Get Close

Walk toward an ore vein or a glowing tree inside the region and it fades out before you can swing at it. That is intended: World Tree harvestables only stay solid for someone carrying the region's protection. Drinking World Tree Holy Water turns the effect off for a while, and while the buff is up the nodes behave like any other ore or lumber node on Palpagos. Pocketpair has never printed the exact duration, so top up before a long circuit rather than counting minutes.

The second option is permanent and free: seven rank 5 passives exist purely to cancel the rule, and a Pal in your party carrying one of them keeps the nodes solid without a single bottle. Most players run both — Holy Water for the first trip in, a passive Pal for every trip after.

TipHoly Water is also a crafting material, not just a buff. One Paloxite Ingot eats one bottle, the Ancient Farm build costs 50, and every Awakening Crystal costs 10 — so drinking your whole stack the first day is a mistake you pay for at Tech Lv 74.

How to Get World Tree Holy Water Fast

This is the least fiddly material in the region. Every field loot cache in the World Tree drops Holy Water on a guaranteed roll of 5–10, and there are 690 of them — you can fill a stack in one lap without fighting anything. Cracking caches also rolls the Pal Souls you need for the Statue of Power, which makes the same lap double as a soul run.

Large Pal Soul (same caches)13.7%1–2Cache route
Decayed Ancient Relic (same caches)3.2%1Cache route

If you would rather fight for it, the region's Pals all carry it at 50% for 1–3, so the only thing that separates a good kill route from a bad one is how densely the target spawns. These are the five thickest spawns inside the region — Solmora Lux alone holds 320 marked spots on the World Tree map, roughly double the next-best target.

The 7 Passives That Replace Holy Water

Each of these is a rank 5 passive with the same hidden line attached: World Tree resources will not vanish when approached. They come on Pals caught inside the region and from the disposable implants that drop there, so you can either roll for one in the wild or force it onto a Pal you already like. Every one of them is a trade — the buff on the left is paid for with the penalty on the right, so pick the penalty you can live with rather than the biggest number.

For a gathering Pal that lives at your base, Demon's Hand is the standout — +90% Work Speed is the largest single work buff on any passive in the game, and the SAN cost is manageable with a hot spring. For the Pal you actually carry into the region, Hermit Sage or World Tree Seedbed keep you out there longest, while God of Destruction is for players who intend to clear the route by killing everything on it. The implant names in the last column do not match their passive names in-game, so buy by the passive you want, not the label. Full effect lists live on the Palworld passive skills list.

All 9 World Tree Resource Sources

Nine distinct loot pools feed the region's materials, and they do not overlap as much as they look. Caches are the only guaranteed Holy Water. The recycler is the only *repeatable* Paloxite and Mythical Wood. Sealed chests are where the Radiant Gems come in bulk. Fishing is where the schematics are. Read the table as a shopping list, then jump to the section for whatever you are short of.

Field Loot Caches — the Paloxite and Mythical Wood Backbone

The 690 caches are the single best reason to walk the region on foot. Beyond the guaranteed Holy Water they roll Paloxite at 18.7% for 1–5 and Mythical Wood at the same 18.7% for 1–5, which over a full lap adds up faster than swinging at nodes does. They also carry all three Pal Soul sizes and a small relic chance, so one route feeds your Statue of Power, your recycler and your ingot line at once.

Treasure Chests — 38 Guaranteed Glistening Relics

Only 38 treasure chests exist in the region, and each one is worth the detour: a Glistening Ancient Relic ×1–3 on a guaranteed roll, plus 7,000–7,500 Gold, a Training Manual (XL) and 1–3 Ancient Civilization Core, all guaranteed. Glistening is the top relic grade, so a single chest converts into 9–11 Paloxite and 9–11 Mythical Wood at the recycler. Clear all 38 before you touch a single ore node and your first ingot batch pays for itself.

Fishing — Where the Schematics Live

There are 77 fishing spots in the region — 55 standard and 22 rare — and they are the only place several late-game schematics show up at a usable rate. Standard spots roll Coralum Ore ×12–25 on a guaranteed slot, then hand out Heat- and Cold-Resistant Ancient Armor Schematic 1 at 18.4% each and the four World Tree weapon schematics at 7.9% each. The 22 rare spots are the richer pool: a guaranteed Diamond, a guaranteed Glistening Relic, a guaranteed Gold Key and the Advanced Fishing Rod (Depresso) Schematic itself.

Bring the strongest rod you own. The Advanced Fishing Rod (Pengullet) unlocks at technology level 45 with 480 durability, and the Advanced Fishing Rod (Depresso) beats it at 720 — comparing rods against rods, that is 50% more casts before a repair, which matters over 77 spots. Rod tiers and the Pals each one can land are on the Palworld fishing guide.

Elemental-Sealed Chests — Radiant Gems in Bulk

All 109 sealed chests need the matching element to open, and each colour pays out three of the nine gem types at 33.3% for 5–10 gems — a single lucky chest is a fifth of an Awakening Crystal. They also carry Decayed Relics at 43.8% for up to 10 at a time, which is the fastest bulk relic feed in the game outside the expedition board.

The Ancient Relic Recycler — Infinite Paloxite and Mythical Wood

This is the endgame answer to gathering: feed relics in, get guaranteed Paloxite and Mythical Wood out, no travel and no Holy Water needed. The payout scales cleanly with relic grade, so hoard your Glistening ones — they return four times what a Decayed relic does per unit. It unlocks at technology level 74 for 3 points and costs 50 Paloxite Ingot, 50 Mythical Wood, 30 Ancient Civilization Parts and 20 Ancient Civilization Core.

TipThere is a chicken-and-egg problem here that catches everyone: the recycler's 50 Paloxite Ingot means 100 Paloxite, 50 Soralite and 50 Holy Water on the bench first. You cannot skip the field phase — do one full cache lap and one pass over the 38 chests, then build it and never mine by hand again. Soralite comes from the 226 Soralite nodes outside the region. The full payout list is in the Ancient Relic Recycler guide.

Pal Expeditions — Relics While You Do Something Else

Both World Tree expeditions unlock after you beat the region's boss, and they pay in relics rather than raw materials — which, once the recycler is up, is the same thing with fewer steps. The Forbidden Area is the one to run: it takes twice as long but its roll never drops below Gorgeous, and one in ten returns come back Glistening. Send teams out before you log off and empty the expedition board in the morning.

Best Tool for Breaking World Tree Nodes

Once the nodes stay solid you still have to break them, and the Plasma Multicutter is the tool built for it — it mines ore and fells trees with the same swing, so you stop swapping between a pickaxe and an axe mid-route. Comparing it only against other gathering tools, its 250 attack and 850 durability more than double the Pal Metal tier on both counts, which is the difference between one lap and three per repair.

ToolAttackDurabilityTech level
Plasma Multicutter25085054 (4 points)
Pal Metal Pickaxe12040044 (2 points)
Pal Metal Axe12040044 (2 points)

The build bill is steep for level 54 — 50 Pal Metal Ingot, 50 Plasteel, 30 Bio Battery, 10 Computer and 10 Cryogenic Coolant — but you unlock it 20 levels before the World Tree materials matter, so it is normally sitting in your chest by the time you first walk in. Everything else on the ladder is on the Palworld technology tree.

What World Tree Materials Actually Build

Everything above funnels into one bottleneck: Paloxite Ingot, which is 2 Paloxite + 1 Soralite + 1 Holy Water per bar and appears in almost every Tech Lv 74+ recipe. Work out how many bars a build needs and multiply — the Ancient Hatchery's 100 bars alone is 200 Paloxite and 100 bottles of Holy Water. These are the builds worth planning your farming around.

BuildTech levelWorld Tree cost
Paloxite Ingot742 Paloxite + 1 Soralite + 1 Holy Water

Ancient Relic Recycler7450 Ingot + 50 Mythical Wood + 30 Parts + 20 Core

Ancient Power Generator75100 Ingot + 200 Electric Organ + 10 Core
Cold-Resistant Ancient Armor7730 Ingot + 50 Cryogenic Coolant + 5 AI Core

Note the split in that list: Paloxite feeds the metal, Mythical Wood feeds the furniture and spheres. Since caches drop both at the identical 18.7%, you will end up with a surplus of whichever one you spend less — most players drown in Mythical Wood and run dry on Paloxite, so weight your recycling toward relics rather than chopping.

The Short Version

Drink World Tree Holy Water or bring a Pal with one of the seven region passives, or the nodes will keep vanishing. Do a lap of the 690 loot caches for guaranteed Holy Water and an 18.7% shot at Paloxite and Mythical Wood, clear the 38 treasure chests for guaranteed Glistening Relics, fish the 77 spots for schematics, and then build the Ancient Relic Recycler at Tech Lv 74 so relics replace mining entirely. After that, expeditions keep the relics coming while you play something else.
