Best Base Locations in Palworld 1.0: Coordinates and Nodes — Palworld Database

A base is only as good as the ground under it, so the best base locations in Palworld 1.0 are the pockets where a Palbox lands on top of a dense knot of ore, coal, sulfur, quartz or crude oil. Below are the exact coordinates for every resource type, how many nodes are packed into each spot, which wild Pals live next door, and the tech level where a quarry finally makes that base unnecessary.

Best Base Locations at a Glance

Every location here is a real cluster of harvestable nodes, not a vibe. Node counts are what sits in the pocket around the marker, so plant the Palbox in the middle of the knot and your miners start swinging the moment they spawn. If you only build one resource base, make it the Ancient Ritual Site pocket — 31 ore nodes is the densest ore concentration anywhere on Palpagos, and it throws in coal, sulfur and Paldium on top.

Read the list top-down as a progression. The first three carry you to level 30 or so, the middle block is what you swap in once ingots stop being the bottleneck and gunpowder starts, and the last four only matter once you are chasing Feybreak and Sunreach Isle materials. Flip on the layer you care about in the Palworld interactive map and you can eyeball the same clusters yourself before you commit a Palbox.

How Many Bases You Can Build

Base slots are tied to your base level, not your character level, and the same number sets how many Pals can work there. You start with a single base and one worker, and every base level adds another worker slot until it caps at 30. The extra base camps unlock at three thresholds, and the fourth is the ceiling on default world settings — a dedicated host can raise it in the world options if you want more.

Base levelWorker slotsBases you can own

15153
25254

35 (max)304

Four bases is not many once you count a food base, a mining base and a raid arena, which is why the quarry unlocks further down matter so much — every quarry you build frees a whole base slot. Until then, treat slots two and three as disposable: park them on whatever material is currently gating your tech tree and tear them down when it stops mattering.

TipYour base doubles as a fast travel point. Two of the picks below — the Mount Obsidian Trail sulfur pocket and the Wildlands Floodgate hexolite field — sit a long way from any statue, so planting a Palbox there buys you a warp point in a region that badly needs one.

Best Overall Base: The Ancient Ritual Site Ore Pocket

Just south of the Ancient Ritual Site fast travel point, the Verdant Brook slope holds 31 ore nodes in one pocket — more than any other spot in the game, desert included. It is not a one-trick base either: 11 coal nodes, 9 sulfur nodes and 13 Paldium Fragment deposits sit in the same circle, which covers the three materials that gate the entire mid-game tech tree at once.

The trade-off is wood. Only 11 trees are in range, so pair this base with a logging camp elsewhere or run Celesdir on a rotation. The wild Pals around it are harmless mid-level grass and neutral types, which means raids here are survivable long before your defences are.

Best First Base: Hill of Beginnings North Rim

The north rim above the Hill of Beginnings statue is the strongest opening base in the game, and it is a two-minute walk from where you wake up. 136 trees and 60 stone nodes sit in range along with 6 ore nodes, which is everything a level 1-15 build order asks for without a single supply run.

It also has ten treasure chests scattered around it, and the resident Pals — Cattiva, Chikipi, Caprity — are the exact catches you want for your first worker roster. Keep it as a wood-and-stone feeder even after you move your main operation; hardwood and stone never stop being needed.

Best Early Ore Bases

Ore is the first hard wall in Palworld — almost every structure past the stone tier wants Ingot, and you cannot build the Ore Mining Site until level 24. These two Windswept Hills spots close that gap. Behind the Desolate Church is the better of the pair with 14 ore nodes and a huge tree count, while the western shoulder of Fort Ruins trades ore density for an even bigger forest and easier defence on high ground.

Both sit right next to their own fast travel statue, which is convenient early and slightly wasteful later — a base gives you a warp point for free, so putting one on top of an existing statue spends that bonus. If you only want one, take the Desolate Church spot and keep Fort Ruins in your back pocket as a pure logging camp.

Best Coal Bases

Coal is the second bottleneck, and the Coal Quarry does not arrive until level 37. The shelf below Mount Flopie Summit is the best answer on the main island: 18 coal nodes plus 15 ore and 12 sulfur in the same pocket, which is the only spot in the game that gives you all three ingot-adjacent materials in usable numbers.

The Foot of the Volcano ridge is the runner-up and the better pick if you are already questing through Mount Obsidian, with a near-even split of 16 ore and 15 coal plus a dozen Paldium deposits. It sits well away from the Foot of the Volcano statue, so it earns you a genuinely new warp point. Staff either with pure miners — anything carrying Lumbering will wander off to chop trees instead.

Best Sulfur Base: Mount Obsidian Trail

Sulfur is what stands between you and Gunpowder, and the Sulfur Quarry is a level 46 unlock, so most players need a sulfur base for a long stretch of the mid-game. The pocket east of the Mount Obsidian Trail statue holds 14 sulfur nodes alongside 12 Paldium, 6 Pure Quartz and 5 coal, making it the most productive sulfur ground you can actually reach on foot.

It is deep in Mount Obsidian's hot zone, so bring heat-resistant armour or drop a Cooler once you have power. It is also miles from any statue, which is the point — building here hands you a warp point in the middle of a region that has almost none. If you would rather not deal with the heat, the Mount Flopie shelf above gives you 12 sulfur nodes in a temperate climate for a small loss in yield.

Best Crude Oil Bases

Crude Oil only comes from an Oil Field, and each field takes exactly one Crude Oil Extractor — so an oil base is worth precisely as many extractors as it has fields. On that measure the flats around Oasis Isle are the best oil site in the game with 6 Oil Fields clustered tightly enough to sit under one Palbox, followed by Sunlit Isle with another six and the Mount Obsidian Trail rise with five.

The famous Sakurajima oil fields only carry two fields, but they earn their reputation a different way: normal climate, flat open ground, 19 trees and seven chests in range, and no desert heat to armour against. Take Oasis Isle if you want raw throughput and Sakurajima if you want a comfortable base you will actually enjoy building in.

One caveat worth knowing before you plan around this: the High-Pressure Crude Oil Extractor unlocked at level 51 does not need an Oil Field at all, so once you are there you can pump oil at any base and these locations become optional.

Best Pure Quartz Base: Unthawable Lake

The shore west of Unthawable Lake is the single most lopsided resource site in Palworld: 51 Pure Quartz nodes in one pocket, roughly double the next-best concentration anywhere. Pure Quartz feeds circuit boards and every piece of electronics-tier tech, so this is the base that unblocks your entire power grid.

It comes with 17 Paldium deposits, 38 stone nodes and a handful of ore and coal, so it is a perfectly serviceable general base as well. The Pure Quartz Quarry does not unlock until level 52, which makes this one of the longest-lived farm bases on the list.

Best Hexolite Quartz Base: Wildlands Floodgate

Hexolite Quartz refines into Hexolite, the backbone material for the Feybreak-tier gear, and the ground north of the Wildlands Floodgate statue holds 23 Hexolite Quartz nodes — the densest field on Feybreak by a clear margin. Seven Pure Quartz nodes and 22 stone sit in the same pocket.

There is no wood here to speak of, so import it. The Pals in the area are level 60-plus Feybreak natives, which means walls and a defence roster are not optional; build the perimeter before you build the smelters. The Hexolite Quartz Mine that replaces this base is a level 62 unlock, so expect to run it for a while.

Best Soralite Base: Crystalline Archipelago

The Sunreach Isles are a nightmare to farm on foot — everything is separated by open air — which makes a base up there worth more than the node count alone suggests. The southern lobe of the Crystalline Archipelago is the best landing spot with 27 Soralite nodes in range, ahead of the Farcry Marsh field most players settle on.

Soralite is the gate on Soralite Ingot and, further out, on the Skillfruit Orchard's build cost. Nothing else grows here, so this is a single-purpose base: Palbox, a ring of miners, storage, and a warp point that saves you a long glide every time you come back.

Best Chest Farming Base: West of Icy Weasel Hill

Chests respawn on a timer, so a base parked on a cluster of them turns into a passive loot route you can run every time you warp home. The ground west of Icy Weasel Hill has 10 chests in range plus 9 ore, 7 Paldium and 6 Pure Quartz nodes, which makes it a real base rather than a pure looting stop.

Some of those chests spawn locked and want a Gold Key or lockpicking, and those are the ones carrying the good rolls. The area is a mid-to-late-level zone, so the loot tier is worth the trip — a low-level chest cluster like the ten sitting around the Hill of Beginnings is easier to reach but pays out far worse.

When Each Resource Base Stops Mattering

This is the part most base guides skip. Every farm base on this list has an expiry date, because the tech tree eventually hands you a structure that produces the same material at any base with no nodes required. Once you unlock the matching quarry you can bulldoze the farm base and hand that slot to something else — a raid arena, a ranch, a plantation stack.

TipLook at the material columns: the Coal Quarry costs 100 Coal, the Sulfur Quarry costs 100 Sulfur, the Hexolite Quartz Mine costs 100 Hexolite Quartz. Every quarry is paid for in the exact resource it replaces, so the farm base is not optional — it is how you afford the thing that retires it. Nine of these ten also spend Ancient Technology Points, which only come from alpha and tower bosses, so plan those kills around the unlock you want next.

How to Pick a Base Spot Yourself

The coordinates above are the pockets worth building in, but the exact metre matters too, and there are only a few things to weigh once you are standing there. Not every node in a pocket will land inside one Palbox circle, so drop the box in the middle of the densest knot rather than on the edge nearest the path.

  • Flat ground beats more nodes. Sloped terrain blocks foundations and makes Pals path badly, which costs you more output than two extra ore rocks return.
  • Build where there is no statue. A base is a fast travel point, so putting one next to an existing one wastes the bonus. The Mount Obsidian and Feybreak picks above are valuable partly because nothing else warps you there.
  • Look for a choke point. Raids walk in from the edge of the circle; a single approach means one gate and one line of turrets instead of a full perimeter.
  • Check what spawns next door. Pal materials like ingots' partners — leather, fibre, oil — come off wild Pals, and hunting them next to the base beats hauling them home.
  • Mind the climate. Hot and cold zones need resistant armour or a Cooler before your Pals will work at full speed.

Best Pals to Staff a Mining Base

A node base lives or dies on who works it. The trap is assigning a high-Mining Pal that also has Lumbering or Gathering — it will drift to the trees and berries instead of the rocks. The three pure miners below never make that mistake, and Aegidron is the only Pal in the game with Mining 8 and no second job at all.

For a mixed base, Anubis is still the best value on the roster — Mining 6 and Handiwork 6 means it mines the ore and then builds with it. Blazamut is the pick for a coal base specifically, because its Kindling 6 keeps your furnaces lit off the same body.
