How to Get Terraria Items: All Sources and Craft Costs — Palworld Database

Every Terraria item in Palworld comes out of one dungeon — the Sealed Realm of Terraria — either as a schematic from its chests or as a drop from its two bosses. This page has the exact chest odds for all ten schematic lines, where Hallowed Bar comes from, the full craft cost of every weapon and armor piece, and the cheapest path to the Legendary versions.

Every Way to Get Terraria Items

There are four routes and you need three of them. Chests hand you the schematics that unlock the recipes, chests and the dungeon boss hand you the Hallowed Bar those recipes eat, and your own assembly lines turn the two into gear. The fourth route — the Moon Lord raid — is optional at first and then becomes the only sane way to reach Legendary weapons. Note the last row carefully: Hallowed Bar has no smelting recipe, no merchant, no expedition and no overworld node, which is why every single item on this page routes through one dungeon on one island.

RouteWhat it gives youRate

What You Need Before You Go

None of the Terraria gear sits on the Technology tree, so there is no research to buy and no player level that unlocks it — the gate is entirely "can you survive the dungeon and do you own the right workbench". The two stations matter more than people expect: the weapons and the armor are crafted at different assembly lines, so having only one of them leaves half your schematics dead in your inventory. The Drafting Table is the optional third, and you only need it once you start stacking duplicates.

Route 1: Open Chests for the Schematics

This is the part that trips everyone up, and it is the single most useful thing on this page: the realm has two chest pools and they do not share a loot table. The shallower treasure chests carry Excalibur and the five Hallowed armor lines. The cavern-grade chests carry the four flashy weapons and the Celestial Sigil Schematic. Loot the wrong chest type all night and the schematic you want will never appear, no matter how many you crack. Both pools pay Hallowed Bar at 100%, so no run is wasted metal — but if you are hunting a specific piece, know which chest you are looking for before you go in. Every schematic in the game shares the same rolled-scroll icon, so the pictures below show the gear each one builds instead.

Treasure Chests: Excalibur and the Hallowed Armor

Six schematic lines share this pool and each one rolls at the same 7.068%, so roughly one treasure chest in 14 hands you a schematic of some kind — but only a sixth of those will be the specific piece you want. The rarity ladder here falls off a cliff: each step up is roughly a fifth the odds of the one below, ending at 0.011% for a Legendary, which is about one in 9,000 chests. Do not farm for that directly. Take the base-tier drops, stack them, and read the upgrade section below.

Schematic tierOdds per treasure chestChests per dropUnlocks
Base schematic7.068%~14Common version
Schematic 11.414%~71Uncommon
Schematic 20.283%~353Rare
Schematic 30.057%~1,754Epic
Schematic 40.011%~9,091Legendary

Six lines roll out of this pool: Excalibur, Hallowed Plate Mail, and the four head pieces — Hallowed Mask, Hallowed Headgear, Hallowed Helmet and Hallowed Hood. Excalibur being in the *armor* pool is the odd one out and the reason people give up looking for it in the deep chests.

Cavern-Grade Chests: The Four Signature Weapons

The deep chests are the better farm in every way. Base-tier odds are lower at 4.25%, but the ladder above it barely drops — 1.25% for a Legendary weapon schematic against 0.011% for a Legendary armor one. That is a 114× gap between two loot tables in the same dungeon. These chests also pay 20-40 Hallowed Bar apiece instead of 4-10, and they carry the Celestial Sigil Schematic at a flat 100%, so your first deep chest permanently unlocks the raid.

Schematic tierOdds per cavern chestChests per dropUnlocks
Base schematic4.25%~24Common version
Schematic 13.00%~33Uncommon
Schematic 22.25%~44Rare
Schematic 31.75%~57Epic
Schematic 41.25%~80Legendary

Four lines roll here: Terra Blade, Terraprisma, Vortex Beater and Nightglow. Because the top tier is only ~80 chests away, the deep chests are the one place in the game where farming straight for a Legendary schematic is actually reasonable — everywhere else you are expected to grind duplicates and combine.

Route 2: Farm Hallowed Bar

Schematics only unlock recipes — the metal is what you actually spend. Hallowed Bar is the whole economy of the collab, and it exists in exactly three places, all of them inside the realm. Cavern-grade chests are four to ten times the yield per roll, so they are the farm; treasure chests are a bonus you pick up on the way past; the Eye of Cthulhu is the only fight in the game that hands you bars directly, but it is a top-up rather than a source. Anything that tells you to smelt these is wrong — there is no furnace recipe.

Treasure chest in the realm4-10100%

Budget before you grind. One of every base-tier Terraria item costs 514 Hallowed Bar all in, and that number includes the two 100-bar sinks that are not gear at all — the Celestial Sigil and the [[struct:YakushimaBoss002_Relic|Moon Lord Statue]]. Gear alone is far cheaper: 212 bars for all six weapons, 102 for the full armor set including both boss masks. At an average deep chest that is roughly 18 chests for the lot. Going Legendary is a different universe — the top tier of every craftable line together runs about 3,480 bars.

Route 3: Craft the Weapons and Armor

Hold the schematic in your inventory and the recipe appears at its station — weapons at the Weapon Assembly Line, armor at the Production Assembly Line. Every craftable piece is 40,000 work, which is a long job, so park your best Handiwork Pals on it. Compare the attack numbers only against other weapons of the same class: Terra Blade at 425 is the strongest melee weapon the set builds, while Vortex Beater at 300 is a rifle and belongs on a different scale. The value pick is Excalibur — 360 attack for a flat 30 bars and no secondary materials, which makes it the cheapest thing here to actually field.

Hallowed HoodProduction Assembly Line140 defence, 320 HP20 Hallowed Bar240 bars → 182 defence, 416 HP

The four Hallowed head pieces are stat-identical — the only difference is which weapon family each one boosts, so pick the one that matches what you hold and ignore the other three. Mask covers melee, Helmet covers ranged, Headgear covers magic, Hood covers summons. Hallowed Plate Mail is the one body piece and it carries mild heat and cold resistance on top of its collab damage cut, which makes it the piece worth taking to Legendary first.

Meowmere is the exception to everything above. It is not a chest schematic at all — it sits on the Technology tree at player level 30 for 2 Ancient Technology Points, its recipe wants plain Ingot instead of Hallowed Bar, and you can be swinging it long before you ever find the dungeon. Its upgrade, Legendary Meowmere, is a raid drop rather than a craft, and its 22,222 durability is the highest of any weapon in the collab by a factor of nine.

Route 4: The Two Bosses

Two items in the set cannot be crafted from a chest schematic at all, and both come off a boss. They are also the two best pieces of head armor the collab has, which is a slightly cruel joke given how little the craftable Hallowed helmets offer in the same slot.

Eye of Cthulhu Mask

The Eye of Cthulhu Mask is not in any chest table and not on the tech tree — the dungeon boss is the gate, and it only coughs the mask up occasionally, so expect several clears. It is worth every one of them: 350 defence, 800 HP and 20,000 durability puts it second in the entire head slot behind Ancient Helm, and unlike the Hexolite Helmet that matches its numbers, it asks for no Technology level and costs a single Hallowed Bar at 15,000 work to produce once it is yours. The Eye is Dark element, so bring Dragons — the full fight is in the Eye of Cthulhu location and drops guide.

Moon Lord and the Legendary Schematics

Moon Lord is a summoned raid, not a world boss. Craft a Celestial Sigil from 100 Hallowed Bar and offer it at a Summoning Altar for the level 50 version, which drops Legendary Meowmere at 22% and the Moon Lord Mask at 10%. Clearing it always hands back a Celestial Sigil [Master], which opens the level 80 fight — and that fight is the real prize, because it drops Legendary-tier Terra Blade, Terraprisma, Vortex Beater and Nightglow schematics at 25% each. It also refills its own key at 100%, so once you are in that loop it never costs another bar. Tactics are in the Moon Lord raid boss guide.

TipFour Master raid clears average out to one Legendary weapon schematic — the same schematic takes about 80 cavern chests. Since the fight refunds its own summon item every time, the level 80 raid is the fastest and cheapest source of top-tier Terraria weapons in the game. Run the level 50 version only until the Moon Lord Mask and Legendary Meowmere drop, then never go back to it.

Upgrading Terraria Schematics to Legendary

Every schematic line in the game follows the same rule at the Drafting Table: five identical schematics combine into one of the next rarity up, at 1,000 work per combine. That compounds to 625 base schematics for a single Legendary, which sounds hopeless until you realise low tiers drop constantly. For the armor pool, combining is genuinely the only route — roughly 1,775 treasure chests to build a Legendary armor schematic out of duplicates, versus about 9,000 chests waiting for one to drop whole. For the weapon pool the maths flips completely, and you should never combine at all.

GoalFarm it directlyCombine duplicatesBest route

The Drafting Table itself is Technology Lv 45 for 4 points and runs on Handiwork, so any crafting Pal can work it. Full ladder costs for every rarity step are in the schematic upgrade guide, and the Hallowed body piece has its own breakdown in the Hallowed Plate Mail schematic guide.

Every Terraria Item and Where to Get It

The full checklist, sorted by how you get it rather than what it does. Fifteen entries plus the schematics that unlock them — and note the two rows at the bottom, because Life Crystal and Luminite Bar are the two collab items nothing crafts and nothing consumes. Luminite Bar's only stated origin is Moon Lord, and no recipe in the game asks for it, so treat it as a trophy rather than a material.

Pals Worth Catching on the Way

The realm is not only collab monsters — three ordinary Palpagos Pals share its spawn tables, and for one of them this dungeon is the densest patch it has anywhere. Palumba puts 7 of its 42 spawn points in here, 16.7% of every Palumba on the map, and it is a Lv 5 Mining worker, so a trip you took for Hallowed Bar can pay for itself twice. Dumud Gild is the other one to grab — one of the better Gathering bodies in the game. Carry spare spheres and do not walk past them.

The Short Version

Fast travel to the Sealed Realm of Terraria — the map's only Yakushima dungeon entrance, southeast of Fisherman's Point — and loot both chest types. Treasure chests give Excalibur and the Hallowed armor schematics at 7.068%; cavern chests give Terra Blade, Terraprisma, Vortex Beater and Nightglow at 4.25%, plus 20-40 Hallowed Bar and the Celestial Sigil Schematic at 100%. Craft weapons at the Weapon Assembly Line and armor at the Production Assembly Line. Budget 514 bars for one of everything, kill the Eye for its 350-defence mask, and once you can clear the level 80 Moon Lord raid, farm your Legendary weapon schematics there at 25% a clear instead of grinding chests.
