How to Get Wooden Barricade: Schematic and Materials

The Wooden Barricade never appears on the technology tree — it only unlocks from a schematic that drops out of enemy camp boss stashes at 30.9% in the Desert and 25% in the Grasslands. Here is where to farm it, the 10 Wood and 10 Fiber the build costs, and why it will not actually stop a raid.

How to Get Wooden Barricade: Schematic and Materials — Palworld Database

The Wooden Barricade is the slanted timber road-block you have seen parked outside every Syndicate camp, and the reason it is missing from your build menu is that it is not on the technology tree at all — a schematic is the only key. This guide covers the two loot pools that drop it and their exact rates, the 10 Wood and 10 Fiber the build costs, where to gather both fast, and the thing the name gets wrong: it does not defend anything.

Wooden Barricade Stats and Unlock

Two rows in the card below do all the work. The technology level is blank — there is no research node, no player level, and no Technology Points involved, so grinding levels will never put this in your menu. And the category says Furniture, not Defense, which is the honest answer to the question most people are really asking: this is scenery. Palworld keeps its actual walls in the Defenses category, and the Wooden Defensive Wall is the one that blocks a raid. The barricade is also the cheapest of the fifteen schematic-locked structures to build — 200 gold of raw materials, against 840 for the next one up.

The storage line matters more than it looks. Weapon and armor schematics have to sit in your inventory for the recipe to exist, but structure schematics count from base storage too, so this can go straight into a chest after the run and never eat a slot again. One copy is the whole unlock — there is no rarity ladder here and no reason to farm a second. The rest of the build menu is on the full Palworld structures list with materials.

How to Get the Wooden Barricade Schematic

There is exactly one method: crack open the boss stash at an enemy camp. No merchant stocks it, no expedition returns it, no dungeon chest rolls it, and no Pal drops it. What makes this an easy farm rather than a grind is that it rolls out of two different regional pools instead of one — only the Rayne Syndicate Flag Schematic shares that privilege among the fifteen structure schematics, and every other one is locked to a single region. Both pools are also grade 1, the common slot that hands out Treasure Maps and Training Manuals, rather than the grade-3 slot where the legendary weapon papers hide at fractions of a percent. Open the interactive map on the Enemy Camps layer — there are 48 camps marked across Palpagos, plus 10 sea bases on their own layer.

Desert Camps — the Better Odds

Roughly three in ten desert stashes cough this up, which is the best rate in the game for it and means most players get it inside four camps. The trade is difficulty: desert camps sit in the sulfur country where the guards outlevel anything you meet in the starting zone, so bring a mount and something with reach. The compensation is that the same stashes are the single best source of 3★ Treasure Maps at 47.5%, so a desert camp circuit pays for itself several times over even on the runs where the schematic does not drop.

Grasslands Camps — the Early Route

Twenty-five percent is barely worse than the desert rate and the camps are enormously easier, which makes this the route almost everyone should actually take. Grasslands camps are the first ones you walk past, the guards are low level, and the stash is a guaranteed Sapphire on top of the schematic roll. Expect around four camps on average — but odds are odds, so a bad streak is normal and camps refill on their own timer, meaning the same handful of pins can be looped rather than hunting fresh ones.

What Else Is in the Same Stash

This is the part that decides whether the trip is worth it, because the barricade schematic is a side prize on a route you would want to run anyway. Both pools guarantee a gem — Sapphire in the Grasslands, Emerald in the Desert — and both throw out Training Manuals, which are the fastest experience in the game outside a raid. The desert stash is the strictly richer of the two: 74 different items roll from it against 37 in the Grasslands, including the guaranteed Kinship Peach and the tier-3 chest slot that holds Ancient Technical Manuals at 54.7%. Percentages below are per stash, so several can land at once.

TipRun the Grasslands camps, not the desert ones, unless you are already farming 3★ maps. Six points of drop chance is not worth fighting guards twenty levels above you, and the Rayne Syndicate Flag Schematic rolls on the identical rate from the same stash — so one grasslands circuit is quietly hunting two schematics at once.

Wooden Barricade Materials and Build Cost

Ten Wood and ten Fiber, with no sub-recipe and no crafting station involved — you place it from the build menu like any other structure. The real number is smaller than it looks, because Fiber converts out of Wood at 1 into 2, so a barricade is 15 Wood if you make the fiber yourself. At 12 gold a log and 8 a fiber that is 200 gold of materials, which is less than a stack of arrows and by some distance the cheapest thing on the schematic-locked list. Build a dozen and you have still spent less than one Cloth.

Raw value200 gold120 in Wood, 80 in Fiber

Where to Get Wood

Wood is the least scarce material in the game: 4,654 lumber nodes are scattered over the Palpagos Islands and every one grows back after you fell it, so opening the map on the Lumber layer is only ever useful for finding a dense stand near your base rather than finding any at all. If you would rather never swing an axe, park a Lumbering Pal on a plot with trees. Lifmunk and Tanzee both cover it at level 1 and both are catchable in the first hour, Eikthyrdeer doubles that at level 2, and Celesdir Noct tops the chart at level 8 if you have one by now. Ten Wood is under a minute of work for any of them.

Where to Get Fiber

Fiber comes off the same trees as the Wood, so in practice a single logging trip covers both halves of the recipe. When you want it in bulk without chopping, nine Pals drop it at a flat 100% on defeat or capture, and the top three hand over five to ten a time — Hoocrates is the easiest of those to find early. Everything below is guaranteed rather than a roll, so the only variable is how many you get per Pal.

Every Structure That Needs a Schematic

Out of 480 buildable structures, only 20 sit outside the technology tree, and 15 of those are unlocked by a schematic that drops somewhere in the world. It is worth knowing the whole list because they nearly all come from the same place — enemy camp boss stashes — just keyed to different regions, so whichever camps you happen to be clearing decides which decorations you unlock. The Desert is the only region that carries three of them, and it is also the only region that carries the Wooden Barricade twice over via the Grasslands. The Laboratory Chair has the friendliest rate on the list at 60%, and the Moon Lord Statue is the outlier — no chest anywhere holds it.

Wooden Barricade vs Every Other Barricade, Fence and Wall

The build menu is confusing here because three completely different things share the same silhouette. Furniture barricades are props and nothing more. Foundation fences are the railings you put on a roof so your Pals stop walking off it. Defense walls are the only ones that actually stop an attack, and they are the ones with a durability rating behind them. If you came looking for the Wooden Barricade to keep raiders out, build the Wooden Defensive Wall instead — it costs the same ten Wood, unlocks at Technology 8 with no schematic hunting, and the game itself admits it "breaks easily," so upgrade to the stone version at Technology 19 as soon as you can. Everything in the table below is a different job, so nothing here is better or worse than anything else — just aimed elsewhere.

Is the Wooden Barricade Worth Farming?

As a defensive structure, no — it does not have that job. As decoration, it is one of the best-value unlocks in the game: 200 gold of materials, a rate that clears in about four camps, and a schematic you only ever need once. The honest case for it is that it is the piece that makes a base look lived in rather than built — checkpoints on the approach road, a blocked-off side path, a perimeter around a Pal pen that would look bare with a foundation fence. And because the drop shares a slot with the Rayne Syndicate Flag Schematic, the same four camps that hand you the barricade usually hand you a flag as well. If you are clearing grasslands camps at all, you are already farming this.

The Short Version

Clear enemy camps and loot the boss stash: 25% in the Grasslands, 30.9% in the Desert, one copy per drop and one copy is all you need. Drop the schematic in a base chest — it works from storage — and the Wooden Barricade appears in the Furniture tab of your build menu for 10 Wood and 10 Fiber. It is decoration only. If you wanted something that stops a raid, that is the Wooden Defensive Wall at Technology 8, and it needs no schematic at all.
