Best Early Game Pals: First Catches for Every Job

Updated 2026-07-23

The first fifteen levels of Palworld decide how smooth the next fifty feel, and most of that comes down to catching the right Pals early. Everything below spawns wild at level 15 or under — no breeding, no late-game trips — and covers all three things you need: a base crew that works, a mount that moves, and a fighter that hits.

The Best Early Worker for Every Job

Work suitability ranks decide how fast your base runs, and a few low-level catches carry surprisingly high ranks. The standout is Penking — Watering 2, Mining 3, Transporting 3, and Handiwork 2 on one body makes it the single best generalist you can grab early (it guards the level 15 alpha spot, so it's also your first real boss fight). The specialists:

CoolingFoxcicle (4)Sweepa

HandiworkWispaw (2)Penking

Two of these do double duty beyond the base: Wispaw adds bonus capture power on sneak throws (the capture guide covers the stack), and Foxcicle's Cooling 4 is genuinely rare this early — it keeps food fresh long before you'd otherwise manage it.

Your First Real Mounts

The saddle ladder starts almost immediately, and each of these is a straight speed upgrade you can catch the same hour you unlock the tech. Nitewing at Tech 15 is the milestone — your first flyer changes how the whole map feels — and Surfent right after opens the water:

From here the flying mount upgrade path takes over — Nitewing hands off to Elphidran at Tech 20 and the ladder never really stops.

The Early Damage Dealers

Attack stats separate the early catches more than people expect. Univolt tops the low-level pool at 105 Shot Attack — and since it's also a rank-3 electricity worker and a 1,100-sprint mount, it might be the best single catch of the early game. Loupmoon and Croajiro both hit 100, and Penking backs its 95 with a Water/Ice kit that counters the Fire threats of the first regions. Check the element chart before boss attempts — early fights are won in the matchup screen.

Ranch Starters That Pay Rent

Drop these on a Ranch and the supplies never stop: Chikipi lays Eggs and Mozzarina gives Milk — two of the four Cake ingredients, which matters the moment you touch breeding — while Lamball keeps Wool flowing for armor and beds and Caprity grows Red Berries so early food never runs dry. The sleeper is Vixy, who digs up random items at the ranch — including spheres you'd otherwise craft.

TipWild level ranges for every species are on each Pal's page, and the interactive map shows exactly where these early spawns cluster. If a pick here feels out of reach, it isn't — everything on this page spawns at level 15 or below.
