List of All Rainbow Passive Skills and How to Get Them — Palworld Database

Rainbow passives are the top rung of the passive ladder — the traits that draw a rainbow arrow beside their name, hand you the biggest number in their category, and never bolt a drawback onto it. There are 24 of them, and this guide covers all of them with exact values, which ones a wild Pal can actually roll and at what odds, which Pals carry the rest innately, and what it costs to install one yourself.

What Counts as a Rainbow Passive

Every passive sits on a four-arrow scale. One green arrow is filler, three gold arrows is the good stuff you actually keep, and the rainbow arrow is the ceiling. The gap between gold and rainbow is not cosmetic either — it is a real step up in every stat chain the game bothers to build a chain for, and the rainbow version usually staples an extra effect on top of the raw percentage.

Read the work speed row twice. Artisan is the passive everyone farms for their base crew, and Remarkable Craftsmanship beats it by another 25 percentage points on the same Pal — that single swap is worth more than an extra worker on most production lines. The defense row is the other standout: Diamond Body is the only passive in the game that shuts off both flinch and knockback, which matters far more against raid bosses than the +30% does. Full effect text for every trait in the game lives on the list of all passive skills and effects.

All 24 Rainbow Passive Skills

The 24 split cleanly by where they come from, and that split is the thing worth memorising: 12 can drop on any wild Pal you catch, 7 exist only on specific Pals (or on Lucky Pals), and 5 only ever arrive attached to a mutated egg. Nothing outside those three buckets exists, so if a passive is not on this list, it is not rainbow.

If you only chase three, make them Legend, Demon God and Diamond Body — attack, attack and survivability, in that order, on anything you take into a fight. For base Pals the shortlist is Remarkable Craftsmanship plus Heart of the Immovable King, because a worker that crafts 75% faster and burns sanity 20% slower is the one you stop having to babysit. Vampiric quietly belongs on both lists: the life steal is small, but a Pal that works through the night is a permanent night shift you never staffed.

The 12 You Can Roll on a Wild Pal

Twelve rainbow passives sit in the pool a wild Pal draws from when it generates its traits, and they are deliberately buried in there. Every passive slot on a freshly caught Pal has roughly a 0.82% chance of landing on a rainbow, split evenly across the twelve — about 0.068% each, or one slot in 1,470. For comparison, that same slot lands on a green rank-1 filler trait 47.6% of the time, a gold rank-3 trait 28.5% of the time, and an outright harmful trait 20.4% of the time.

PassiveChance per passive slotWhy it's worth the hunt
Demon God0.068%Biggest flat Attack boost that isn't locked to a legendary
Diamond Body0.068%Only trait that cancels flinch and knockback together — raid-boss insurance
Remarkable Craftsmanship0.068%+75% Work Speed; the single best passive for a base crew
Swift0.068%+30% Movement Speed, stacks with a mount's own speed
Vampiric0.068%Night-shift worker that never sleeps, plus 5% Life Steal in combat
Heart of the Immovable King0.068%Sanity drains 20% slower — fewer trips to the Hot Spring
Mastery of Fasting0.068%Hunger drains 20% slower; keeps a feed box from emptying overnight
Eternal Engine0.068%+75% stamina on a mount, so longer flights between landings
King of the Waves0.068%+50% swim speed for water crossings
Ranch Master0.068%Farming +2 turns a mid-tier ranch Pal into a top producer
Lavish Hospitality0.068%Doubles the loot bag you leave behind when you die
Lightfooted0.068%One extra mounted jump — cheap traversal upgrade

Those odds are per slot, not per Pal, which is the only reason mass-catching works at all. A Pal that rolls a full four passives has roughly a 3.2% shot at carrying at least one rainbow — call it one in every 31 four-slot catches, and that is before you account for Pals that roll fewer traits. Pocketpair has never published the roll table, so treat the four-slot figure as a close estimate rather than a promise. The practical version: catch in bulk with cheap spheres, check the box, keep anything rainbow even on a species you do not want, and breed the trait across later.

TipNever dismantle a rainbow roll because the Pal is wrong. A Lamball with Remarkable Craftsmanship is a breeding asset, not a Lamball — passives pass to offspring, so one bad-species carrier can seed the trait across your whole box through the Palworld breeding calculator.

The 7 That Only Come Attached to a Pal

Seven rainbow passives are never in the wild roll pool at all. Six of them are welded to specific Pals, and the seventh — Lucky — belongs to the shimmering rare variants rather than to any species. You cannot buy these, implant them, or hatch them; you catch the carrier or you go without. Four of the six carriers are summoning-altar raid bosses rather than anything you will bump into in the field.

PassiveCarried byHow you get the carrier
LegendFrostallion Frostallion Noct Jetragon Necromus Paladius NeptiliusField bosses — Frostallion, Paladius and Neptilius at Lv 60, Frostallion Noct at 65, Jetragon at 70
LuckyAny Lucky PalThe glowing, oversized rare spawns — no fixed species
LunkerNeptiliusLv 60 field boss, and the only Pal carrying two rainbows
SaviorHartalisRaid boss, summoned at Lv 70
Siren of the VoidBellanoir LiberoRaid boss, summoned at Lv 45
InvaderXenolordRaid boss, summoned at Lv 65
Eternal FlameBlazamut RyuRaid boss, summoned at Lv 55

Neptilius is the outlier worth planning around — it carries Legend and Lunker at the same time, which no other Pal does, and Lunker's +20% Defense stacks on top of Legend's +20% before you have added a single rolled passive. The raid trio all boost two elements at 30% each, so they only pay off on a Pal whose damage actually matches: Eternal Flame is dead weight on a Water attacker. Every carrier and its breeding path is covered in the guide to all exclusive passive skills.

The 5 Locked Behind Mutated Eggs

The last five never appear on a caught Pal or a normal hatch. They come from the mutation pool, which means a mutated egg is the only natural source — and when one does hatch, it arrives wearing one of these five, drawn evenly from the group.

PassiveEffectWhat it's actually for
ImmortalityLife Steal +5%, Pal health regen +100%, Attack +15%The best all-round mutation trait — sustain and damage in one slot
IdiosyncraticHealth regen +50% for Pal and player, Defense +25%, poison and burn immunityThe only passive that heals *you* as well as the Pal
Heavily ArmoredImmune to explosion damageNiche but absolute — trivialises explosive raid mechanics
BabysitterEgg production +30%, incubation +30% at basePut it on a Breeding Farm Pal and every future hatch is faster
SkymarcherMounted jump count +2Double Lightfooted; turns a ground mount into a climber

Immortality is the one to hold out for — a Pal that regenerates at double rate, drains health on hit and swings 15% harder is doing three jobs in one passive slot, and it is the closest thing the game has to Legend for a non-legendary. Babysitter is the sleeper pick because it compounds: a Breeding Farm running on a Babysitter Pal produces the eggs that produce your next mutation. Mutated eggs come in the same five sizes as ordinary ones and the rate is dire without the right cake, which the mutated eggs guide breaks down step by step.

Installing a Rainbow Passive at the Pal Surgery Table

The Pal Surgery Table is how you stop gambling. It unlocks at Technology Lv 38 and costs 30 Refined Ingot, 20 High Quality Cloth and 10 Corrosive Solvent to build — cheap for what it does, since it rewrites a passive on a Pal you already own instead of asking you to catch a better one.

Passive tierGold costItem needed
Green (rank 1)10,000 GoldNone
Gold (rank 3)50,000 GoldA reusable Implant for most of them
Rainbow (rank 4)FreeA single-use Disposable Implant
World Tree (rank 5)FreeA single-use Disposable Implant

That table surprises people: the rainbow tier bills you no gold at all. The implant *is* the price, and it is consumed on use, so the whole cost of a rainbow install is however long it took you to find the implant. The gold tier is the expensive one in cash terms at 50,000 per operation, and most of those also want a reusable implant — those you can simply buy, at 50 Battle Tickets each from the Arena shop or 15 Successful Bounty Tokens from the bounty shop. Only 14 of the 24 rainbow passives have a surgery entry at all; Lavish Hospitality, Ranch Master, Lightfooted and the seven Pal-locked ones cannot be installed by any means.

Where Disposable Implants Come From

Every Disposable Implant comes out of the Ancient Relic RecyclerTechnology Lv 74, built from 50 Paloxite Ingot, 50 Mythical Wood, 30 Ancient Civilization Parts and 20 Ancient Civilization Core, drawing 800 power and needing a Handiwork Pal to run it. You feed it Ancient Relics and it hands back implants, and the relic grade is the only thing that moves the odds.

Relic fed inChance of one specific rainbow implantChance of any rainbow implant
Decayed Ancient Relic0.051%0.46%
Dormant Ancient Relic0.102%0.92%
Gorgeous Ancient Relic0.203%1.83%
Glowing Ancient Relic0.406%3.65%
Glistening Ancient Relic0.812%7.31% — plus a separate 19.4% for the mutation five

Only feed it Glistening relics if you can help it. Nine rainbow implants share the graded pool alongside the seven World Tree ones, and a Glistening relic is sixteen times more likely to produce a given one than a Decayed relic is. The four mutation implants and Skymarcher sit in a completely separate Glistening-only pool at 3.888% each, which is why Glistening is the only grade worth spending on a mutation trait — no lower relic can produce them at any rate. Add both pools together and a little better than one Glistening relic in four comes back as some rainbow implant. Every implant shares the same syringe icon in your inventory, so read the name, not the art.

Farming the Relics Themselves

Relics only come out of the World Tree, and the fastest route is the one that needs no fighting. Grade-5 treasure chests there hand over 1-3 Glistening Ancient Relics every single time — a guaranteed drop, not a roll — and all 38 World Tree treasure chests are pinned on our interactive map with the World Tree chest layer switched on. Beyond the chests: The World Tree's Forbidden Area expedition returns 2-4 Glistening relics per 120-minute run, the shorter World Tree Subterranean City Ruins expedition pays in the lower grades on a 60-minute timer, and elemental sealed chests in the region drop a Glistening relic 8.76% of the time. Send crews out on the expedition board while you are running chest laps and both clocks work for you.

TipDo the chest run before you build the recycler. Relics stack and keep, the recycler wants Technology Lv 74, and there is nothing stopping you from banking a hundred Glistening relics on the way there — then converting the whole pile the day the machine goes up. Full build and yield details are in the Ancient Relic Recycler guide.

Spreading One Across Your Whole Box

Rolling, implanting and hatching all get you *one* Pal with a rainbow passive. Breeding is what turns that into a roster. Passives pass from parents to offspring, which means a single carrier — even a garbage species you caught by accident — is a template you can print from. Pair the carrier toward the species you actually want, keep the children that inherited the trait, and repeat until the passive and the Pal line up.

Two things make this the cheapest path by a distance:

  • No relic cost. Breeding spends cake and time, not Glistening relics, so it scales in a way implants never will.
  • It reaches the un-implantable ones. Legend, Lunker, Ranch Master and the rest that have no surgery entry can still travel down a breeding line from their carrier.
  • You can stack them. Four rainbow passives on one Pal is legal, and only breeding gets you there — the surgery table rewrites a slot, it does not add one.

The inheritance rules, cake choices and combi ranks that decide which egg you get are all in how breeding works, and the Pal min-maxing guide covers where passives sit against IVs, souls and condensing when you are building a finished Pal.

Summary

Twenty-four rainbow passives exist. Twelve can drop on any wild catch at about 0.82% per passive slot, so bulk catching is a real strategy rather than a joke. Seven are locked to specific Pals — the six legendaries share Legend, and the raid bosses each hold a dual-element boost. Five arrive only on mutated eggs. The Pal Surgery Table installs 14 of them for zero gold if you bring the Disposable Implant, and those implants come out of the Ancient Relic Recycler at rates that make Glistening relics the only grade worth feeding it. Once you have one carrier, breeding is what turns it into a box full.
