Nothing here needs a parent technology, so your character level is the only gate, and none of the five draws power or occupies a worker once it is down. The usual faux-plant catch applies: these are scenery only and cannot be broken back down, so whatever you spend is gone.

How to Unlock the Faux Bamboo Set

Reach character level 23, open the technology tree, and spend one point on the Faux Bamboo Set — all five pieces then stay in your build menu permanently. The catch is the row it sits on: level 23 wants 15 normal points to clear outright, and this is the row where your armour finally jumps a tier. Metal Armor and the Metal Helm are the two you buy first at 2 points each, because they carry you through the mid-game bosses. The Large Feed Bag is the expensive one at 3 points and it also needs the previous feed bag bought first, so it is really a 5-point commitment. Decoration should be last in the queue here, but at one point it is tied with the Storage Container Set for the cheapest thing on the row — and unlike every other entry, it gives you five separate build pieces for that point.

The three bamboo pieces are variants A, B and C of the same plant, and the whole point of having three is that a row built from one variant reads as copy-paste from ten metres away — alternate them and it reads as a thicket. The two flowering bushes are the strange part of this set, because they are not bamboo at all. They are the only pink flowering shrubs any faux set gives you, they sit low enough to line a path without blocking your own doorways, and they are what makes the set worth a point even if you never place a single stalk of bamboo.

How to Farm the 60 Wood

No Pal in the game drops Wood when you beat it or catch it, so there is no farming route to run — Wood comes off trees and nothing else. By level 23 you should already have a Logging Site running, and that is the answer: it unlocks at technology level 7 for 2 points, costs 50 Wood, 20 Stone and 10 Paldium Fragment to build, and accepts any Pal with Lumbering Lv. 1 or better. Sixty Wood is roughly one idle afternoon of a single worker. If you would rather chop it yourself, 4,654 tree nodes are marked across the island, and riding Eikthyrdeer while you swing pushes your logging yield up by 220% at partner skill level 1 and 500% at level 5. The lazy option is gold: a Wandering Trader sells Wood at 12 Gold apiece, which puts the whole 60 at 720 Gold.

How to Farm the 40 Fiber

Fiber comes off the same trees as Wood, but unlike Wood it also drops from Pals — nine of them, and every single one drops it at a 100% rate, so there is no bad-luck streak to sit through. The two worth going out of your way for are Hangyu and Hoocrates, both of which hand over 5-10 Fiber every time, meaning roughly six of either covers all 40. Everything below them drops 1-3, which is not worth a trip on its own but is free value if you are already fighting them. No merchant anywhere stocks Fiber, so you cannot buy your way out of this half of the bill the way you can with Wood.

Hangyu — Top Fiber Drop, and It Lives in the Bamboo

Hangyu is the pick if you want to finish this in one trip, because 37 of its 144 spawn points — 25.7% of everywhere it appears — sit inside the Deep Bamboo Thicket, the exact biome this set is imitating. It spawns day and night, so there is no waiting for a clock, and it is a Ground type with no real threat behind it at level 23. Catch six rather than killing them: you still get the Fiber, and Hangyu brings Transporting 2 plus Handiwork and Gathering to your base afterwards.

Hoocrates — Same Drop, Night Only

Hoocrates matches Hangyu's 5-10 Fiber and has almost double the spawn points at 263, but every one of them is night-only, so it is the better target only if you are already out after dark. It also clusters in the same place — 37 pins in the Deep Bamboo Thicket, its single densest area. It is a Dark type with Gathering 1 and nothing else, so it is a farming target rather than a keeper.

Or Just Crush Wood Into Fiber

If you already have a wood pipeline running, skip the hunting entirely. The Crusher turns 1 Wood into 2 Fiber, so the whole 40 Fiber costs you 20 Wood and zero travel. It unlocks at technology level 8 for 2 points and costs 50 Wood, 20 Stone and 10 Paldium Fragment, with one important requirement: it needs a Pal with Watering to spin the turbine, not Lumbering. Run the numbers and the entire Faux Bamboo Set is really just 80 Wood — the same total the Faux Greenery Set costs at level 12, except you get five pieces instead of four.

Building an Actual Bamboo Grove Base

There are two genuine bamboo regions on Palpagos — the Bamboo Groves and the Deep Bamboo Thicket — and this set exists so you can get the look without having to plant your base inside either one. If you do build in the thicket, the five Pals below are your neighbours, and two of them are the Fiber farm from the section above, which makes it the single most efficient place to gather the set's materials and then immediately spend them. Univolt is the one to actually keep: 42.6% of every Univolt spawn in the game is in this thicket, and Generating Electricity 3 is a real power-plant worker at this stage of the game rather than a novelty.

Faux Bamboo Set vs the Other 7 Faux Plant Sets

There are eight faux plant sets across the tech tree, 31 pieces between them, and every one of them costs exactly 1 point — so the only thing that separates them is what they cost to build and how many pieces you get. Faux Bamboo is the value pick: five pieces where nothing else gives more than four. It also sits right on the material line. Everything from level 27 onward switches to Hardwood, which means the Faux Tropical Greenery Set is where these stop being throwaway decoration and start competing with your board production. Buy Bamboo, Greenery, Crimson and Golden while they are cheap, and treat the four Hardwood sets as things you get to later.
